Sorry, ORF; dunno how I missed your post! duh! Really glad that you enjoyed the Plastic Cloud! Pretty fun tunes. Love that sassy guitarist I just rec'd the first Tubeway Army cd, which sounds great. I learned to play drums along to this album! I'd forgotten how heavy some of it was ("Steel and You").Also got the "Engineers" live cd. Did you end up picking that one up? It's pretty good, although I could use more bass! Excellent version of "Replicas". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3f2n_403Ih8 All the best, ORF! Apologies again for not seeing this sooner. Just found this pre-Plastic Cloud pic. I have the 'Living Ornaments '79' double live CD of that tour, which I saw in March of that year.[1980] Excellent tour! Kickass Set! Kickass Concert!

I have the 79/80 live lp and the 80 and 81 double cds. I might just get it on iTunes.COOL that you saw that tour! Interesting that he was already playing tunes from the yet-unreleased "Telekon", as well as heavily featuring the "Replicas" album. Wow, you got to see Paul f*cking Gardiner! I love his bass playing. Very interesting and underrated bassist! Didja buy any merch? Cool tour t-shirt? Inquiring nerds want to know! :P

The same with alla my RUSH shirts...I'm rebuilding my RUSH shirt collection from backstage club... I've even got a Jimi Hendrix shirt and AEROSMITH Get Your Wings shirt... Wait, make that four albums. Starship: We Built This City, The Best of Starship, Great stuff! Rated "E" for "eclectic." Hey, ORF; I heard this the other day and it kinda reminded me of Plastic Cloud (although more poppy and "English" sounding): Before they settled on denim-boogie, they were flower children -- kinda like Spinal Tap!"If I see you hiding in my mind by a peppercorn tree..." :D Pretty frilly stuff, but a fun listen!peace and love, man;Timothy Bleary

OldRUSHfan
K, today, The Very Best of CHER arrived. I checked to make sure I didn't have any Cher, although I used to before the computer hack. probably not on CD. or MP3. Now I have everything I want by her! Sonny and Cher and Solo! Also, yesterday I did The Small Faces, and bought Humble Pie's Anthology [steve Marriott's band after he left The Small Faces]. Everything on The Small Faces album was Stereo on the first CD, and Mono on the second, just like the Status Quo CD. Played through the Grateful Dead album yesterday "Anthem of The Sun, both 1968 mix, and 1971 mixes. VERY COOL!

OldRUSHfan
New album today. Tom Waits' "Mule Variations" First time I saw him was on a music variety show from the '78/'79 TV season. Maybe "Jukebox" or something like that. Twiggy was hosting, and Osibisa was also on that night. I remembered Tom's odd voice....I still have the cassette tape of it...
OldRUSHfan
AWWWW GEES! Yet again, second time this year, two idiots with no eyes, or concept of the Truck they were driving, have hit our power lines and almost torn the power pole [telephone pole] from out ot the earth it was buried in. The line didn't separate, but DTE is still on the way, so we'll see how long we'll be out of power this time when they arrive. My car is almost directly underneath the pole, but enough to the right side so it won't hit...they Will ask me to move it sometime today I believe. No wires on my vehicle, so I want to move it as soon as I can.

OldRUSHfan
Deliveries today. I med, Clopidogrel, two tubes of royal blue cake detail frosting, Petite Fours from Swiss Colony, and The Drawing stuff I ordered on Monday. Sharpie pen Collection, and two big watercolor paper pads. Also, how long, if ever, since you had a DUM DUM lollipop? If you ever HAVE had one, do you remember them? My Doctor, when I was a kid, my pediatrician used to have a bowl of them on the receptionist's desk for kids to take one when they left. He also had Highlights magazine for kids there, as did the Doctor we switched to in Saline when we moved there in '68. My mom bought me a subscription to Highlights for two years...
Lorraine
I remember those lollipops. :) It's been ages since I had one. Used to love the teeth rotting Tootsie Roll Pops too. So did my dentist. I used to get Highlights too when I was a little girl. The dentist office always had them.
