Steve Smith
He was not as good a bass player as Geddy and he was not as good a singer. But boy, that cat was just about the coolest dude on the entire planet. He was the epitome of cool. He just stood up 6 foot 3 with that big afro and those Raybans on and the rock chicks just melted!!! He was also such a wonderful lyrical songwriter. RIP Phil, you were a legend in your short life dude.
Lucas
One of the few musicians that I can say I love Send him into a studio alone, and he'd come out with something priceless http://www.metal-archives.com/images/9/5/4/3/9543_artist.jpg?5136

Steve Smith
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2nVyHmHaSQ This was when Brian Downey had a couple of years off with his illness. It was not drink or drugs, I think he was just burned out and got glandular fever. Brian Robbo had been sacked due to addiction, and they got Midge Ure (No way!!!!!!!!) to complete the 78 US tour. Gary was a member of TL after Eric Bell gave up but it only lasted a few months in 1973. This was the opening track from GM first real solo album "Back on the Streets". Was a performance on the UK show - Old Grey Whistle Test Not sure who played on the studio album but this features Don Airey (Rainbow) on keys, Scotty on 2nd guitar, Phil and Gary, and Cozy on the kit. Why do our heroes die dude???? So sad Phil, Gary and Cozy all gone now :( :( :( :(
Lucas
Cozy Powell is one of my favorites drummers .. and the way he went was completely unnecessary Steve, my all time favorite drummer is Clive Burr .. tragic about him ... As great as Maiden is, they were never the same without him

I play "Prisoner" in my car very loud all the time in traffic jams just to piss people off! ha ha

Steve Smith
My good friend Gary from where I used to work is a huge Dave Mustaine/Megadeth fan. Gazz is such a great guy, 6 foot 5 and covered in tattoos but a gentle giant. He told me about how when DM was sacked from Metallica he was close to suicide but he pulled himself around. Gaz bought a custom US flying V Dave Mustaine model new for 3 grand. He was a bit on his uppers a couple of years ago and I said I would lend him £3000 and take the V and he could get it back and pay me the money back when he got sorted. But he said "thanks Stevie but I will find another way".
Steve Smith
Gary Moore got his facial scars from a fight in a Dublin bar. A guy got a hold of him from behind and someone cut his face to shreds with a broken bottle Bloody Hell!!!!!!
