  1. Just clowning around or something more sinister? Town spooked by man dressed as terrifying character from Stephen King's It Mystery man dressed in full clown outfit spotted around Northampton One woman claims he knocked on front door to paint her windowsills Clown resembles demonic character played by Tim Curry in 1990 film A man dressed as a clown bearing a striking resemblance to the notorious film monster Pennywise is spooking residents by posing late at night around a town and waving at passers-by. The figure has been spotted in full clown attire around Northampton - and one woman claimed he offered to paint her windowsills after knocking on her front door, despite having no equipment on him. There is no explanation for the appearances by the clown - who bears a striking resemblance to the demonic character played by British actor Tim Curry in the 1990 horror film Stephen King’s It. http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/09/16/article-2421823-1BD9BA34000005DC-114_634x460.jpg http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/09/16/article-2421823-1BD9BA2C000005DC-551_306x423.jpg The clown appears to have even set up a Facebook page, which now has more than 26,000 likes. He writes comments under pictures of himself, signed off with Pennywise’s catchphrase - ‘beep, beep’. Since his first appearance last week - on Friday 13 September – he has sparked a raft of speculation among locals who fear he may be up to no good. Others have even threatened to attack him. But the clown said on his Facebook page: ‘Too much hate, not enough love. No, I don't have a knife on me. That’s just stupid rumours spread by stupid people. ‘I'm also “not” on Twitter as it confuses the heck out of me. However, I might go for a jog around that pond in Abington Park later as I'm really unfit. See you around. Beep, beep!’ The clown has been spotted in several areas in the town, including in a shopping district at 11pm. He has also been snapped clutching a set of juggling clubs and even colourful balloons in one picture. In a caption to the shopping district photograph, he wrote: ‘Beep, beep! Didn’t think I'd be seen tonight. Extremely quiet but there were a few of you who saw. See you all around.’ 'Beep, beep! Didn’t think I'd be seen tonight. Extremely quiet but there were a few of you who saw. See you all around' Mysterious Facebook post by clown Some Facebook users with coulrophobia - an abnormal fear of clowns - have pleaded with him to stop. Others said they are ‘freaked out’. Kelly Keen said: ‘You’ve been spotted - now get out of the clown suit and start acting like a grown-up that you supposedly are. 'Stop scaring people as some people do have real fears of clowns and you are terrorising them, despite what you may say.' And Korey Brown wrote: ‘I would probably mug you or seriously hurt you. No hard feelings bro(ther), but I’ve always wanted to hurt a clown.’ http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/09/16/article-2421823-1BD9BA38000005DC-851_634x406.jpg However, others praised him for creating a talking point among locals. Jay Gould said: ‘Poor clown - just trying to liven up Northampton, and people threatening to hurt him.’ 'We can confirm that we have neither arrested nor dealt with any crimes involving anyone dressed as a clown' Northamptonshire Police spokesman Northamptonshire Police confirmed today that they had received calls from members of the public reporting three clown-related sightings over the weekend. However, the force said no crimes had been reported involving people dressed as clowns or any arrests been made in connection with the clown sightings. A spokesman said: ‘We can confirm that we have neither arrested nor dealt with any crimes involving anyone dressed as a clown. However, we received three calls over the weekend relating to people being seen dressed as clowns.’ http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/09/16/article-2421823-1BD9BA28000005DC-237_634x404.jpg Mother-of-three Felicity McDonald, 45, who lives in Northampton, said: ‘It's the only thing anybody has been talking about in the entire town today. 'He'd better be careful around a town like this. If you go about dressed as a killer clown, it can only end in tears' Felicity McDonald, Northampton mother ‘Some people are really going too far, saying we need to stop him because they are so freaked out by it all. It is a little bit weird and everyone is just expecting it to be something sinister. ‘It’s like Stephen King's It has come to life. He’d better be careful though around a town like this. If you go about dressed as a killer clown, it can only end in tears.’ Meanwhile, some social network users reported sightings of a vigilante 'Clown Catcher'. Twitter user Samantha Phillips uploaded a picture of a bald man sporting sunglasses and a Superman-style costume, with the caption: ‘Northampton now has a clown catcher too.’

  3. Here's a new one from The Booger Myers Band called Ice Cream Jesus. All of our stuff's pretty different-sounding from each other though the themes are often humorous. This one's about me getting a soft serve ice cream at a McDonald's drive thru, reaching for my CD book, and accidentally smashing the cone into our imported Italian silver Jesus cross. Yikes. I have about 30 Booger Myers Band songs recorded so far, almost all of them were written within 2013. The lyrics for this video are below too if you can't make out what it says. Thank you! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPgtsZGnoX8 Lyrics: Going through the drive through Grabbed myself a cone Had to hold it with my right hand I still had to drive home Reaching for my CD book I made quite the mess See the cone hit the little Hanging cross of Jesus Ice Cream Jesus! I'm going to hell! I had to get the cone! I had to try and drive home! From the top of Old Smokey To the depths of the Valley You'd need 3 hands to do this And not cause a rally! I suggest that you drive With another or two For when Jesus the co-pilot Just doesn't do! Ice Cream Jesus! I'm going to hell! I had to get the cone! I had to try and drive home! Ice Cream Jesus! He rolled away the cone While hanging from the mirror All the way home! Ice Cream Jesus! He dipped for your sins! And 3 days later He did it again!
  4. http://youtu.be/sgRtySTI0GE?t=47m Apparently they DID really beat up comedian Paolo Guzzanti (the metalhead nerd) after the sketch... In this show they also had ZZ TOP, "Pin cushion" era, but sadly I can't find the video... Too bad because it was hilarious...

  6. John Lennon's only full-rehearsed concert from 1972 is getting a drastic overhaul. Producer Jack Douglas, best known for his work with Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, and Lennon's final 1980 songs on Double Fantasy and Milk And Honey, revealed to us that plans are in the early stages to restore the show for an upcoming release. On August 30th, 1972, Lennon and Yoko Ono were backed by Elephants Memory for two full concerts at New York's Madison Square Garden. The performances, known as the One To One concerts, included an afternoon matinee and an evening performance, benefited the Willowbrook House, with the proceeds from the shows going to help establish new accommodations for the mentally handicapped inhabitants of the former Willowbrook institution in Long Island, New In an exclusive interview, Douglas, who was behind the boards for the 2010 Double Fantasy Stripped Down collection, says that unlike the 1986 LP and VHS versions of the '72 show -- called, Live In New York City -- he plans to include material from both the afternoon and evening charity concerts. Douglas told us that he wants fans to be able to relive the moment with the benefit of modern technology: "What I'm proposing is that we get the One To One concert, get it to be at its proper status and sound and do a stereo and 5.1 (mix) that are worthy of the experience and make a proper DVD and get it to the fans. I would hope that we would do everything that I could get my hands on as far as footage and sound. That event really deserves more than, than we have right now." The songs performed by John Lennon and Yoko Ono over the two MSG shows on August 30th, 1972 were:"Power To The People (intro)," "New York City," "It's So Hard," "Move On Fast (Yoko)," "Woman Is The N!gger Of The World," "Sisters O' Sisters (Yoko)," "Well, Well, Well," "Born In A Prison (Yoko)," "Instant Karma! (We All Shine On)," "Mother," "We're All Water (Yoko)," "Come Together," "Imagine," "Open Your Box (Yoko)," "Cold Turkey," "Don't Worry Kyoko (Yoko)," "Hound Dog," and "Give Peace A Chance." There's been no release date for the 1972 live collection.

  13. Ok last time it was Sabbath, Purple, Queensryche and Ghost... This time it's Dream Theater, Fates Warning, RUSH's Vapor Trails remaster and Haken's new "The Mountain" album... Speak to me! It might seem strange to have a RUSH album in one of these polls but VT is one of those albums that divides fans... :hail:
  14. http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/08/03/article-2384042-1B213DAB000005DC-521_634x473.jpg Michael Ansara, a television and movie actor whose roles included a Klingon on 'Star Trek,' has died. A longtime friend and spokesman for Ansara says the actor died Wednesday at his home in Calabasas, California. His former agent Michael B. Druxman told the New York Times that Ansara died after suffering from Alzheimer's disease. He was 91. Ansara was most famous for playing evil Klingon leader Kang on the original 'Star Trek' and was one of the few actors to continue that role in further iterations of the series, playing the Klingon in 'Star Trek: Deep Space Nine' and 'Star Trek: Voyager.' Ansara was born in Syria and moved to the United States when he was two-years-old. His family first lived in Massachusetts before moving to Los Angeles when he was 10. At first Ansara planned to become a doctor but shifted his focus to acting after he took up at the Pasadena Playhouse to overcome his shyness. His first film role was in the 1944 thriller 'Action in Arabia.' Because of his Syrian heritage, Ansara was often cast in ethnic roles, playing American Indian characters on TV shows like 'Broken Arrow' and 'Law of the Plainsman.' He also appeared on ''I Dream of Jeannie,' 'Hawaii 5-0' and 'Murder, She Wrote.' His film credits include Julius Caesar, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, The Greatest Story Ever Told and The Comancheros with John Wayne. More recently, Ansara appeared as the guardian to an estranged grandson in the 1999 independent film 'Long Road Home' and as the voice of Mr. Freeze on the cartoon TV series 'Batman' and 'Batman Beyond.' Ansara was predeceased by his son, Matthew, with former wife Barbara Eden. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Beverly Kushida, a sister and a niece and nephew.

He passed away on Monday morning in a Scottsdale, Arizona hospital after suffering a blood clot in his lung, according to his publicist. Farina for three decades was a character actor who combined remarkable dexterity and charm with toughness. The actor put his craggy face, steel-gray hair, ivory smile and ample mustache to good use in many popular films, including: Snatch, Saving Private Ryan, Midnight Run and Out Of Sight. He also had memorable roles in Get Shorty and the Cameron Diaz film What Happens In Vegas, showing his flair for comedy. Farina was perhaps best known for playing Detective Joe Fontana on Law & Order during the 2004-06 seasons, one of many roles in his lengthy television career. 'I was stunned and saddened to hear about Dennis’ unexpected passing this morning,' said Law & Order creator Dick Wolf in a statement on Monday. 'The Law & Order family extends sympathy and condolences to his family. He was a great guy.' Farina also starred in the 1980s cult favorite Crime Story and was a regular in the 2011-12 HBO drama Luck. He recently completed shooting a comedy, Lucky Stiff. Farina was a veteran of the Chicago theater and appeared in Joseph Mantegna's Bleacher Bums and Streamers, directed by Terry Kinney, among other productions. He was born on Feb. 29, 1944, in Chicago and was a city detective before he found his way into the acting profession as he neared his forties. His first film was the 1981 action drama Thief, directed by Michael Mann, whom he had met through a mutual friend while still working for the Chicago Police Department. 'I remember going to the set that day and being intrigued by the whole thing,' Farina recalled in a 2004 interview. 'I liked it. And everybody was extremely nice to me. If the people were rude and didn't treat me right, things could have gone the other way.' Farina is survived by three sons, six grandchildren and his longtime partner, Marianne Cahill.
