  1. QUOTE (CrossedSignals @ May 8 2012, 10:23 AM)QUOTE (ljr869 @ May 8 2012, 11:20 AM) There's no way CA will be played in its entirety. They'll play the three songs already released and possibly a few others interspersed in the set, probably opening with Caravan. As this is an album tour I'm sure the 'look' of the staging will be completely different from the Time Machine tour with new intro, intermission, and outro videos. In fact, I'll be very surprised if they play ANYTHING from the Time Machine tour. So, say goodbye to anything from Moving Pictures. Subdivisions and Working Man have been played for a while and it may be time to release them from the rotation. (But, seeing how long they left the god-awful Roll The Bones in their set, you never know.) Maybe time to replace them with an extended version of Different Strings and a re-worked encore of In The Mood? God, I hope you're right. Not all of CA + plus none of Moving Pictures (not that I don't like MP.... just a bit weary of it) would make me a very happy camper. However, I would LOVE to hear Roll The Bones. And I would be sad if Subdivisions got left out. Good god, didn't you get enough of Roll The Bones on every tour from '92 to '04 ??? And New World Man has been played as good as it can. I'd like to hear Chemistry instead of Subdivisions if they want to pay homage to a great Signals-era song.

  3. That's awesome the whole family went. I hope they liked it too. My wife hates RUSH....well, certainly doesn't like them. But, the only show I took her to truly was a bad show (8-4-07 outside Sacramento, CA). It was way too hot, dirt parking lot, sounded horrible, white trash tweekers throwing up everywhere, etc. Now, if she had gone to Red Rocks with me last year, that surely would have won her over. Best (outdoor) venue in North America, sounded exquisite, and really nice people. I'm looking forward to the DVD.
  4. In the tour book, Neil wrote that Geddy mentioned he would like to do an album of their instrumentals - and to maybe add a new one. I think that's a great idea. However, I hope they don't compile them from studio or tour tapes. I would love if they re-recorded them live in the studio with no over-dubs. As anybody who has been to the Time Machine tour knows, they're at the top of their game right now. Whaddya guys and gals think? Maybe we can even think up a good name for the album.
  5. At Red Rocks (8/18) Geddy sounded great. Absolutely nailed the ridiculously high "first you need endurance, first you've got to last" bit at the end of Marathon.
  6. Is that one of those magnetic bracelets that Alex is wearing?
  7. I don't know if it was the altitude (I'm from San Diego) or the awesome venue (the most beautiful in North America per Geddy) or visiting my high school buddy (we're 40) but during the second song (Time Stand Still) I totally started to weep. Maybe it was the lyrics (Summer's going fast, etc... Old friends getting older, etc.) but I was totally feeling it. Best concert I've ever been to. I feel sorry for people who don't have RUSH in their life.
  8. Who plays the girl, Koogle (?), in the intro video? Also, do we know who plays the band?
  9. Necromancer, no, it won't be someone like you who blows smoke in my face. I know this because I'll be sitting with people, like me, who do have money. We fly in from a completely different city to see the best band at the best venue. We will now allow a low-life to ruin our experience. So, again, when we ask you nicely to put it out, please do. One more thing, ask yourself this: Is there a link between me not having money and being a dope-smoker?
  10. For those of you potheads going to Red Rocks, do yourself a favor: wear the name of your favorite local hospital on a necklace. Smoking is prohibited (thank God) in the seating areas. So, when I ask you to politely put out your skunk weed and you less then politely refuse (even though you'll all claim how conscientious you all are) that previously mentioned hospital is where you'll wake up.
  11. I would also like to the the Ric and also the Wal on the appropriate songs. I have seen video of Alex on a PRS.
  12. I had read that Alex does use foot triggers but have never seen an on-stage keyboard.
  13. I've been watching some youtube videos of the current tour in prep for my Red Rocks show. I noticed that during 'Time Stand Still' Alex plays keyboards. I think he may be just triggering Aimee Mann's voice but has he done this before? I don't recall seeing this on previous tours but I could be wrong.
  14. If you need weed to enjoy the show then there's something wrong. Personally, if I eat a pop-tart when RUSH is playing I get high.
