  1. This is just one of those movies that looks and sounds so stupid that you actually have to go see it. I'll probably find time to see it before it's run is over.
  2. QUOTE (fledgehog @ Aug 15 2006, 12:14 AM) Surrounded is my favorite song off I&W. D/L'ed Kamelot's discography. I was looking for only The Black Halo, but discography set seemed to have a better rating. I'll listen to TBH once Misplaced Childhood ends. Great album. Listen to the album Epica before you listen to the Black Halo though. It really helps set up the story in TBH.

  4. QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Aug 12 2006, 01:55 PM) I've also heard that Philip Seymour Hoffman is a favorite for the Penguin. Last I heard, he was offered it, but turned it down. Again, fan mongerings so take it with a grain of salt.
  5. QUOTE (JohnnyBlaze @ Aug 12 2006, 02:08 AM) QUOTE (kazzman @ Aug 11 2006, 11:31 AM) Now... bring on the casting for Harvey Dent. Who'd you cast as Dent? And what other characters have been mentioned as being in this installment? Liev Schrieber. Other characters rumored to be in the film are Oswald Cobblepot, aka The Penguin; Roman Sionis aka Black Mask. And there's also been rumors that Rachel Weiss is up for the female lead in the film and there's been a lot of fan speculation that she'll either play Selina Kyle or Talia Al Ghul who's looking for revenge against Batman for the death of her father.
  6. QUOTE (treeduck @ Aug 10 2006, 10:17 PM) When making films/movies you don't wait till shooting starts to find out what people can do... Personally for a big picture like this I'd want someone tried and tested in this kind of role, they seem to have picked Ledger on the back of his success in Brokeback Mountain, ie they're more concerned with choosing someone likely to put bums on seats than whether he's the best choice... Not really. Nolan had actually been meeting with Ledger secretly for months about the role. Apparently he saw something in him that nobody else has. Now, I'm not saying Ledger is the best choice for the role (I was actually tossed up on Paul Bettany and Lachy Hulme), but I can't see the point in saying "He's going to be horrible" when there's nothing we can judge him on. Now... bring on the casting for Harvey Dent.
  7. QUOTE (treeduck @ Aug 10 2006, 06:16 PM) But Heath Ledger? C'mon there's no way this guy is gonna be any good as Joker... Why pick him of all the actors they could choose? It's almost as bad as picking Keanu Reeves to play Jonathan Harker in BSD... That's the thing. People are already saying Ledger isn't going to be a good Joker WHEN THEY HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN WHAT HE CAN DO YET. Ledger's never played this kind of role before so it will be very interesting to see how he approaches the character. The one thing we do know about this incarnation of the Joker is that Nolan will do it right. We aren't going to get some colorful, laughing, clown, but instead a dark, twisted, psychopath. As previously stated (numerous times that is) Jack Nicholson was no Joker. And also as I previously stated, we haven't even seen what Ledger can do yet, and people are already saying he's a horrible choice.
  8. For those of you who haven't seen this yet: Octivarium Analysis Talk about putting so much thought into one album...
  9. Just bought the special edition.

  11. George Harrison's Concert at Bangladesh
  12. There was this 80 year old biker, who got to the point where he couldn't take care of hismelf anymore. His family didn't have the time or the money to have him move in with them so they had him put in a retirement home. Now, even though he was 80 years old, he still had the mind of a 21 year old. He was walking around the place one night and got talking to one lady around his age. Later that night he asked if she would want to go to his room for some "fun." "Well, I can't really do that anymore because of my heart condition. But if you want, you can come to my room and I'll 'hold it' for you." Figuring it was better than nothing, the biker agreed. He went to his room, pulled it out and she held it for him. He did this for three more nights. On the fourth night, he never arrived at her room and she figured he was doing something else that night. Well... three more nights pass and he was nowhere to be seen. She decides to go for a walk and look for him and find out where he's been. She finds him in another room where another lady his holding it for him. "You two timing bastard! What does she have that I don't?!" "Parkinson's"
  13. QUOTE (JohnnyBlaze @ Aug 2 2006, 07:22 PM) I'd just guess that Burton hadn't read any Batman comics before making the first films. Burton actually publicly admitted he never read a comic book in his life. Oh and for the record, as much as I hate the Shumacher films, I'll actually take Forever over Returns.
  14. QUOTE (Slime @ Aug 1 2006, 04:51 PM) Nobody could ever hope to top Jack Nicholson's Joker You're kidding me right? Jack Nicholson's "Joker" was horrible. All he did in that role was play Jack Nicholson in white face paint and green hair dye. The Joker isn't some loud-laughing freak accident. He's a sadistic psycho who kills and tortures people for his own amusment. We got absolutly none of that out of Nicholson.
  15. This is why I didn't buy the dvd when it first came out...
  16. After my little adventure in New York's Virgin Record's Megastore last night, I came out with: Nightwish - Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan single Helloween - Walls of Jericho/The Helloween EP combo Sinergy - Suicide By My Side Leaves' Eyes - Legend Land EP
  17. Once I heard Nolan was directing, my interest was sparked. Then Christian Bale signed on... Now, after seeing the trailer, I really want to see this.
  18. Definitely pre-ordering this. I'm really kicking myself in the ass for just dismissing them on the last tour and ignoring it.
  19. Yeah, he put up a fight in a mouth full of teeth ready to impale him alright...
  20. Mainly because FF 1 was horrible and adding the Surfer just seems like a lame attempt in order to attract an audience to see it. The character needs to stand alone in his own film.
