I am trying to encourage my kids to take the opportunity to travel when they can with their groups.

They'll make memories that last a lifetime.

*edit to add, we take them on trips when ever we can - it's time that is completely invaluable. Monetary value not withstanding.

Experience and Memory building the most important draw from traveling.

The world is large and we cannot become blinded by our own little corner being all that there is to experience.

I have come home to a pile of toilet tissue on the floor below - and let me tell you - it NEVER winds back on the roll quite the same.

If you yank hard on the roll in the B position, at least half the roll spins out onto the floor.

 

Position A prevents that. Winner!!

The thread is not a BAD idea - I think that Toymaker has a good idea in reading the early threads to get a real feel for what it was about.

For sure the meet up threads - they tell an amazing story of developing friendships.

I remember there used to be somewhat of a "rivalry" with the Counterparts forum.

I don't remember a rivalry - the CP forum was a bit more "loose" of an atmosphere. A no holds barred (so to speak) hang out.

We appreciate the moderation here.

Some CPers were a little out there, for my taste, but I belonged to both and I just stayed out of the seedy alleys on CP.

I have some wonderful friends that were way more active on CP than TRF. (Thank God for FB)

I usually look at a profile page just to see if it offers any insight, any bit of info, that might help me understand more who that person is and where he or she is coming from.

 

I have been looking at your profile, sundog, repeatedly lately just from bemusement from you starting this thread.

I hope I don't disappoint - I'm really not that fascinating.

We needed a place to hang out, and RR, GG, and 73 got together and built this.

Do you remember who the first person was that joined after the founding members? And how long it took for this place to start being a happening kind of place? :)
