  1. Since this is a new/short thread and I think my thought fits this subject I'd like to weigh in on a few things. I read alot of these but don't really care to reply to other's opinions much, however after seeing a couple of these "troll" sightings and reading much about the setlist/tour opinions since opening night (which I attended) I have a few conclusions. I've been a fan for over 30 years, have seen the band over a dozen times since Hold Your Fire, I'm a musician, basicly your average Rush fan. I was a little taken aback with some of the song choices that first night, esp. since I sat thourough it waiting for one of my most desired tracks in Jacob's Ladder to be played and of course was sad they didn't play it, oh well I thought. I've since, in general been in support of most of the fans in being delighted to hear many great songs and to be able to enjoy my favotire band live once again this year. I have plans for Vegas and a Red Rocks double shot that still marks the greatest Rush week of my life to come next month. I read one person state that the Moving Pictures inclusion itself could be the "Time Machine" aspect in itself and I would have to agree except for the band using the date theme throughout the show, but I thought that was a valid point. I mean its "Moving Pictures" in full people. Hello! As a long time fan and live follower I have to begun to feel at shows the comedy and excessive video intros and cartoonish element added to seemingly every track takes away some of that cool intense mystery that the band had when I was first discovering them and some of the earliar tours. I know that has been an aspect of the guys always and I have always loved the down to earth coolness of these guys but that is someting I notice being represented more and more as the years have gone by. Overall, it is such a blessing(sorry Neil), to have this band performing, entertaining, and working so hard at this stage for themselves and for us the fans, that most of this bashing and critique is for the birds. How wonderfull it truly is to have such a fantastic part of all our lives played out on the stage for so many to enjoy. Choose RUSH and enjoy my friends!
  2. Got my pair for opening night today. Can't wait.
  3. I attended the show at this venue on the last tour and have plans to do the same this season. My wife and I drive down through the 14er's in Colorado and stay in Santa Fe, driving into the Paviilion the following day. It was a fine trip indeed. My plans this year include this show, Vegas and the Red Rocks pair.
  4. Can someone explain to me the difference between someone breaking the rules to scalp tickets and someone doing whatever they can for themselves to find ways around the rules such as the Citi presale? Selfishness is selfishness and breaking the rules does not help anyone or the effort to try to make things better for fans.
  5. The forum is a huge venue, I'm sure they were a bit worried about sales to some degree esp. with another show not too far south.
  6. Where are you seeing an official post of this? Link?
  7. Most of the added dates the I've seen in the past at red rocks are the next day. I would love to have a chance to see them two days in a row!
  8. I'm reallly left feeling a loss as well for the days of getting in line to buy. With all of these presale's and VIP crap there are like 3-4 different lines to get in now. It is just stupid. I have had pretty decent luck with all the different kinds of methods and have tried them all at one point or another. Hell, I decided to take a trip to see Rush about two weeks before the show on S&A and ended up with 6th row from the regular ticketmaster. So, who the hell knows? It is just a big game, and then you add that we have to compete with losers that scalp tickets and it will drive you nuts.
  9. Yes, thank you, that was cool to check out.
  10. Venues need to begin enforcing a will call type purchaser only pick up rule and this would end this nightmare. This is the only way to truly eliminate this situation. It would obviously take more entry time at the venues but I have been very happy with this situation and ability to get good seats at shows where they did this practice. Just a thought.
  11. The fact that it is now, you are alive now, get a chance to be excited now about a tour this year makes it ultimtely the best by default to me. We have one the greatest storys in rock history playing out in front of our eyes and in our hearts. Sharing memories with our friends, family and children as well as reliving our own storys with this band through the years. Time Machine indeed. Step in and enjoy the ride my friends!
  12. Well, she already has gone once with her good ol' dad so I would be inclined to treat yourself this time. I can tell you the time I was able to be within a few feet of the band it was very memorable. I'm guessing she would be happier down the line to share with you the memory of the time you were able to to see the sweat on their brow. Trust me, I have a daughter as well, go big for once man you wont regret it!
