I drink on the job. Double the drinking if I’m bartending. I mean it comes w/the territory cause it’s an experimental venue w/a bar. To clarify, yesterday was my first morning into late afternoon shift in awhile so I drank abnormally early (around noonish). Usually our shows are at night but sometimes people want to rent out the place & want someone on staff to run the bar which was what I did. nice, I suppose it's nice to not work nights all the time working closing shift is bummer not because it's hard but because i sort of have to sacrifice my social life half the week.nobody does shit during the day Actually I don’t mind working nights at this point in my life cause I’m a night owl by nature cause if I wasn’t working at Roulette that night, 3/5 times I’d be out at like Elsewhere or Vitus at the same hours seeing a show.

their latest album’s first track is really good but the rest is cringe They lost me for good after they announced a NYC show w/Kamelot over a year in advance. It was an insider joke between me & a good friend of mine for awhile that we weren’t sure if said show happened already the last time we thought about it (probably did).

I did 45 shows last year not counting work. That’s easily my most prolific year of seeing shows but I attribute all of it to my tastes simply being much wider than it was when I initially left TRF. That and I like smaller club shows over stadium shows anyway. Saw Maiden over the summer...honestly, I would’ve been better off if I didn’t go actually.

Opeth’s playing the Apollo Theater and the only reason why I’d think about going to it is to just say I’ve been to the place. Devy on the other hand? That’s long sold out. Couldn’t bother listening to Empath actually. Eventually maybe.

^ I can make the same analogy w/music cause one of the perks of my job is that I’m exposed to what would be the musical equivalent of my thoughts on the above film in a more experimental, art underground sense.

yeah when i look back at the few journal entries i've saved i sometimes just think "who was i trying to be?" kinda makes me wonder why i didn't have more self-awareness Speaking for myself, I have a bit too much self-awareness. On one had it works in my favor for getting myself out of downer periods but on the other hand it’s bad when I’m in social situations where my friends would otherwise want me to cut loose.
