  1. I love the layering of sound on VT song. I also love the ballsy bass on peaceable kingdom.
  2. yeah Grey and Reani - that was a cool tour... I had the same reaction - when Alex kept playing after Temples and the Cave back image came up on the screen and I realized they were going to play all of 2112! I saw them first in the Partial Tour of the Hemispheres in Chicago - Comiskey Park in 1979 and I can still remember them opening up with 2112 and how we all rushed towards the stage once we heard the beginning synthesizers to 2112! Even on that tour they did not play Discovery or Oracle - everything else on 2112 but that. So on T4E Tour it was amazing to hear the whole thing.
  3. Thanks Greyfriar for the response. Yes, I hope they release that at some point as well... I really liked that tour and set-list. While I have loved all of their concerts I have seen, I really liked the TFE Tour set-list, energy, quality of playing, and Geddy's voice.
  4. Yeah, I have thought that a DVD off that TFE tour (on DS) would be terrific... did they videotape any of those shows (just did not release)?
  5. I think the lead solo in Dreamline (the part of brief improv before the standard studio lead) off DS is also better than on RIO or Snakes.
  6. Yeah, I liked Analog Kid and Nobody's Hero off that disc - and ofcourse hearing Oracle in 2112. It occured to me that RIO and Snakes and Arrows was from one show, while although much of DS was from the Chicago show, many of the songs from DS were from some different shows - yet it sounds like it's from one show... any thoughts about why it just seems the production seems to sound better (to me anyways) on DS...
  7. Yes, I would agree with Reani14 on that too... it's funny, because while I don't dislike RIO or Snakes and Arrows Live discs one bit, overall, the sound quality throughout the entire concert on DS seems better to me. I'm not sure why that is... I think that as I remember it, Geddy and Paul N. did most of the mixing with that CD...
  8. I would agree with REANI14, I really like the St.Louis version which ofcourse had great energy to it, but I think they have better use of timing and emphasis on different sections of 2112 on DS... plus I like listening to Discovery in 2112, which of course they did not perform during the PW tour (St. Louis Concert). All in all, I love 2112 in both concerts, but I think 2112 in DS might be just a little better if only in subtle timing and emphasis in the drums, vocals, and some of the leads (particularly in Soliloquy.
  9. Losing It - the electric violing, guitar, keys, drums jam. The Pass - lead Hemishphere - the guitar harmonics after the opening part of the song
  10. I had this shirt from a concert I went to in the semi tour of the hemishpere - 1979 - blue glitter on back with the starman - cool shirt - i was in Target and this worker there came up to me and said - did you see them back then!? I smiled. I also went to a Dream Theatre concert wearing another Rush shirt from another concert during that tour = black with the starman on front but with the coloring chaning from bright orange to deep red, very cool shirt - and got lots of "cool shirt, man!"
