  1. QUOTE (On TheRoad To Adventure @ Mar 25 2011, 11:00 AM)Mine is Fly by Night: misheard lyrics: Changes are coming and I just can't pretend correct lyrics: My ship isn't coming and I just can't pretend I was SO sure I was right about this one, I lost a bet with a husband on it. I couldn't believe it when I read the correct lyrics. ...And I always thought it was "My ship is a-comin' and I just can't pretend". It never occurred to me that I was wrong - it really does sound like that to me. You live and learn...
  2. I've always loved it. So much so that I launched a web-site of mine (that sells a software component) to the sound of its dulcet tones. Why? Because the song is about taking risks. Note: 'Launched' means 'I copied the files to the server while I was playing the song on the CD'. The upshot is that the site became available publicly as Alex gives it some stick in the bridge before the final verse-chorus etc. It seemed fitting to time things that way. Notably, also, the logo I created for the site uses the Moving Pictures typeface sported on the eponymous album-cover. I got it from The Rush Font Project - Google that if you don't know what I mean. Those guys (the typeface guys, not The Boys) deserve some serious credit. It's that, 'sometimes the odd number wins' line that has always given me goose pimples. Love that song - a great little ditty. Al, if you are reading this, keep giving it stick, but more so please.
  3. I've listened to both songs only once so far, and they both sound very fresh and original to me - not some kind of re-hash of older material or styles, not, of course, that we expect such cobblers from Rush (so, thank God, no change there then). What struck me immediately is how fresh and vibrant the band sound, as if they are 25 years of age or something, and have only an album or two under their belts. Certainly, and speaking purely for myself, I feel that this new material puts to shame a lot of supposedly harder/metal bands whose members really are only 25 years of age. But did I actually like the songs? Well, here's a superbly positive indicator: I found myself tapping my foot to Caravan unconsciously, and that was about a minute into my first and only listen to the track. That, for me, is very good news indeed - somewhere deep down in my psyche The Boys were tickling those Rush chromosomes of mine again, and that is all I need to know. Rush, you are the flippin' best - stick at it, and stick it right out for all the world to see.
  4. QUOTE (Lerxst UK @ Apr 8 2010, 01:54 PM)QUOTE (earth2112shine @ Apr 8 2010, 06:02 PM) Total bummer, us poor Europeans have to wait to see again. You lot over the pond don't know how lucky you are Yes I live in the UK Totally naffed off but not surprised. Predictable I guess! Ah well... I guess Signals To The Hemispheres will have to hold the fort until 2011! They wouldn't dare not come over on the 2nd leg! Yeah, I thought we should not expect to see them on this side of the pond this time around. But yes, the second leg seems to hold out a lot more hope, so I am not that fed up about it. In the meantime L-UK, yes, you have your work cut out for you...
