  1. It's always been around a couple of hundred bucks for two tickets-maybe the most was $300 for two 6th row center floor seats at the Meadowlands that I donated to two friends. It was worth it for them because they had a great time and had never seen Rush live before. It was worth it for me too because I was able to do that for them. My favorite seats have been in the first couple of rows on the right side of the stage, usually $20-$30 bucks over face value. I always try to get something somewhere in that general vicinity. Let's see what I can snag for Mohegan Sun. I'll report back as to what they cost. I will NOT see them at Jones Beach.
  2. Anyone know what the prices will be like for Mohegan Sun this time around? As for ticket prices being ridiculous, let's face it-they can probably make just as much money playing smaller venues and it's less work for everyone involved. Now when their new album comes out next year, if they resort yet again to playing county fairs and small outdoor arenas, I'm gonna have to call it a day. The other problem with tickets sales is the best ones always wind up in the hands of scalpers. So those prime seats always go for about $1,000. That is what REALLY sucks about the whole deal. At least in arenas like MSG there are so many seat available you can get something good for a reasonable price, and those who want to spend a grand per ticket can knock themselves out. But at Jones Beach or any of those Tweeter Centers they play in? Forget it.
  3. QUOTE (furie @ Apr 8 2010, 07:10 PM) they've been playing and filling Jones Beach since the 70's. It's a great place to see a concert. I hate Jones Beach. The ambiance is beautiful, but if you're not sitting in the front towards the middle of the stage your experience will be compromised. Most of the floor seats, especially the ones to the sides of the stage, are dreadful. You might as well stay home if you have to sit way on either side, regardless of how close to the stage you are. And if you are on the floor and nowhere near the front and have some guy 6'2" in front of you, have fun trying to see anything. I live in NYC and will try to catch them at Mohegan Sun. At least that venue is indoors and the seating is a bit more fan-friendly.
