  1. Any day but Super Bowl Sunday. TV's gonna be occupied.
  2. Only five posts to go LM. Post them all here!
  3. My mother uses it and prefers it to Blockbuster. I don't have the patience to watch movies on TV myself.
  4. Isn't he the reporter from whatever news show that was from? Last year FARK.com did a photoshop gallery of this.
  5. QUOTE (pussnboots13 @ Jan 25 2005, 09:46 PM) What do you suppose Geddy would think if he read any of this? Blackadder: Baldrick, deny everything. Col. Melchett: Is your name Baldrick? Baldrick: No. Why would read this thread. He needs to make records.
  6. I'm sorry to say this is the first year I haven't seen any of the major nominees. I have a lot of catching up to do. I do agree that Scorcese is a lock this year, because the Academy will feel "he's due." Seems with many of these awards, a win late in one's career is almost a lifetime achievement award. I'm thinking of Al Pacino in particular who, though he was good in Scent of a Woman, did much better work deserving of an award.
  7. I adore Jeeves and Wooster, and just about anything Fry and Laurie have done. I don't really consider that a sitcom, though, in the sense the aforementioned shows are. I haven't been able to find A Bit of Fry and Laurie on DVD here.
  8. Another one: Good Neighbors with Richard Briers. He and his wife become debt free and self-sufficient, driving their neighbors nuts. It might have been called something else in the UK, though.
  9. QUOTE (JoDay @ Jan 24 2005, 06:54 AM) QUOTE (Sodoff Baldrick @ Jan 14 2005, 05:20 PM) The Fly by Night album did it for me. One listen and swooooooooon. Thanks everyone for the welcome messages Most of you are sufficiently older than me, eh? And got into this all while probable being even younger than I was... And my Granny keeps telling me I will 'grow out of it'. *only her hairdresser knows for sure* You're only as old as you feel.
  10. QUOTE (war2112 @ Jan 23 2005, 09:50 PM) QUOTE (Snowdog @ Jan 23 2005, 07:57 PM) QUOTE (Sodoff Baldrick @ Jan 23 2005, 07:10 PM) The Warriors "Warrrrrrrrrrrrriors, come out and play." Now there's a blast from the past. Man, I'll bet I saw that movie a dozen times, but haven't seen it in over 20 years. Thanks for the reminder Sodoff This one is tickling the back of my mind. That phrase is what's getting me. I'm going to have to hunt this one down. Whether or not I've seen it, it sounds like I'm in for a treat. If I have, then I get that wonderful beatific glow from the "blast from the past". If not, then I get to experience yet another secret gem. Hey, it's a win-win. Can't beat that Great movie. About this gang from Staten Island (?) who goes into the city for a meeting of all the NYC gangs. This one leader wants to take over the city, but there's a ruckus and the Warriors have to get back to SI without getting killed. Joe Walsh's "In the City" is the main theme.
  11. The Warriors "Warrrrrrrrrrrrriors, come out and play."
  12. Seems like nothing but trouble has followed him since his son was killed. Did they ever find the guy who did it?
  13. Forgot, it's not really a sitcom, but the original Whose Line is it Anyway was hilarious, with Tony Slattery and John Sessions, an Stephen Fry on occasion.
  14. The Thin Blue Line starred Rowan, yes. And Mark Addy of The Full Monty was on for a season as well. My faves: Blackadder Keeping Up Appearances As Time Goes By Red Dwarf Chef May and November Monty Python Fawlty Towers

  16. I have a copy of Life of Brian around here, too. I don't think I could watch a MP movie and type. I'd be laughing too hard.
  17. Yep, nominated for sup actor on Cheers, lead actor on Frasier, and guest actor on Wings. All as Frasier Crane, but he only won for Frasier. Go.
  18. What actor has received Emmy nominations for three different shows, playing the same character?
  19. QUOTE (kazzman @ Jan 7 2005, 03:37 PM) QUOTE (Sodoff Baldrick @ Jan 7 2005, 08:14 AM) Problem Child 1 & 2 Any movie based on an SNL skit save for The Blues Brothers and the first Wayne's World I'm lobbying to get them to make a movie based on the cowbell skit. Who's with me? You'll have to get Chris Walken otherwise it just won't work.
