  2. Well, good first week of cross-country for me. I'm sore as sh*t, though.
  3. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Aug 14 2008, 11:55 AM)Just as a reminder, there will be NO SHOW this week, August 14th, but I will be back on August 21st! Here's a link to last week's show: The Interdimensional Vortex - August 7, 2008 But.........but........but...............why???? Man this sucks, I'm outta town last week and there's no show this week.

  5. Uhh......I have way more important things to do than sit and listen to a song hundreds of times trying to learn it. Probably it's because I haven't been playing very long and haven't developed a keen musician's ear, but that just seems like a ridiculous waste of time. And I don't care if it's "right"......all I care about is if it sounds good. Of course, if I'm playing along to a song using tabs and something doesn't sound right, or if I find a way to make it sound better, I'll definitely play it differently......I'm not totally dependent on tab, but just picking up from scratch seems impossibly difficult.
  6. QUOTE (Janie @ Aug 11 2008, 08:37 AM) QUOTE (Did Lee Squat? @ Aug 10 2008, 05:22 PM) And my first day of cross country is tomorrow! Hey good luck with that!!! Let us know how it goes! It went great!!! We ended up running about 6 or 7 miles... which I thought was a lot, but I felt fine!
  7. Wow it's a tight race!
  8. QUOTE (Fridge @ Aug 10 2008, 10:16 AM) It's rather average to me. the guitar solo is pretty nice, and the music isn't too bad. The lyrics are actually very, very good and work very well as a poem. Unfortunately, they don't fit the music at all well, and Geddy seems to be unable to construct a decent vocal melody line here. This unfortunately is a recurring theme in recent years, and it doesn't matter if you have the best lyrics in the world, if they don't fit into the music, then it destroys the song.... Yep. I love the lyrics but overall the song is OK....not really one of my favorites on that album.
  9. Still going strong I see!!!
  10. QUOTE (Arleen2112 @ Aug 10 2008, 03:45 PM) http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg174/Arleen66/pf_logo.gif I love Yes but I love Floyd more.
  11. Well I ran only managed to kick myself out of bed and run 3 times while on vacation, but it was 3 great runs! I was going to take pictures of some of the hills I ran but I forgot........but yeah, some of the sickest nastiest slopes I've ever encountered. I actually had to stop and walk down a hill because it was so steep.....my knees and ankles and hips felt like they were going to break. And my first day of cross country is tomorrow!
  12. I finally saw it on Thursday night....I hardly ever go to the movies but this one seemed too good to wait and rent later on. And I wasn't disappointed at all, awesome movie....I'd give it a 9/10. RIP Heath

  16. QUOTE (Janie @ Jul 31 2008, 08:20 AM) QUOTE (Did Lee Squat? @ Jul 30 2008, 06:32 PM) QUOTE (Janie @ Jul 30 2008, 02:11 PM)QUOTE (Did Lee Squat? @ Jul 29 2008, 05:19 PM) You know I've been thinking about this a lot lately.......I usually try to run every other day and lift weights in between, but I'm not getting stronger like I used to before I started running again. I guess I need to eat more. And it's good to see you out pounding some pavement Taylor! I have a friend who was into body building years ago. She said that you need to increase your protein, really limit your carb intake and eat "clean" to help your body build muscle strength. I believe by "clean" she means eating things plain like no butter on green beans, no sauce with steak, stuff like that. If you want, I can ask her about it. My body doesn't react well to a high protein, low carb diet so I have never tried the things she has talked about. I do better (and have much more energy) eating tons of fruits and veggies and boy do I love to slather anything and everything with as much butter as possible. Yeah lately I've been trying to eat more protein in addition to my normal diet but heck I dont' know if it's doing anything. My dad is into protein shakes and supplements and all that stuff (and he's huge so I guess it works)......so I though about trying that but decided that seemed a bit much. Are you trying to bulk up or just add muscle strength? If you're trying to build muscle, then I know those protein supplements and similar products (found at like GNC, etc) help do the trick. I think you really need to hit the weights though to help your body utilize the extra protein to build the muscles. How long have you been eating extra protein? (Or are you just doing the shakes?) I'm not looking to gain a serious amount of muscle mass (which is why I dont' think I need all the shakes and stuff ) because it would definitely slow me down.....I just mainly want to get stronger and bulk up my upper body a little. Unfortunately once school and cross country start I know I'm going to lose it fast.
  17. Time Stand Still by miles and miles........if it weren't for that one HYF might be my least favorite album.
  18. Arg another tough one.......not a weak song on GUP (minus Red Lenses). Right now though it's probably Between the Wheels. It's surprising to see The Body Electric with so few votes....
  19. This one is really tough because pretty much every song on this album is perfect.....but I had to go with Subdivisions, what a song!
  20. This album has some fantastic songs.......Bytor & the Snowdog, In the End, FBN, BB&B, but Anthem is definitely my favorite.
