  1. I just finished two very excellent ones, Batman & The Joker: Deadly Duo & Batman: Killing Time.

Darwyn Cooke's New Frontier is my favorite, right above The Dark Knight Returns. I also have Wolverine Vs. Predator pre-ordered on Amazon. It will be released in April.

Please recommend your favorites in this thread! I'm always on the lookout for a good one.

  2. I don't understand why people are worried about their cell phones, tablets, and other devices are spying on them when it's our vacuum cleaners that have been gathering dirt on us for years.

  3. S by J. J. Abrams & Doug Derst.

I love that it contains props like newspaper articles, research notes, & letters. Not to mention a lively conversation written in the margins. It's quite good so far. After that I'll be tackling House of Leaves.

Before I started S, I read the Batman graphic novels Killing Time & Batman & The Joker: Deadly Duo & I'm happy to report they're very, very good!

Never really had long hair, was in the Air Cadets from 13-20 ywar old so always had it short.  After this I did grow it for a while but with my hair been fairly curly it just bunched up when hitting colour length.  When wet it would be down to shoulder blade length.  Probably grew it for about 12-18 months then cut it all off and have had same cut ever since - grade 2 back and sides, cut short on top.

Wow! Your hair hair too, huh? We may be long-lost relatives.

  5. I grew my hair out after leaving the military. My hair is very wavy & tended to bunch up instead of laying down, as I discovered with a bit of heartbreak. I walked around with it for about two weeks whereupon I was well & truly sick of it so I went to the barber & had it cut "as short as you can without shaving me bald" which left me with maybe an eighth of an inch overall & I immediately loved it. Over the following years ol' male-pattern baldness struck (and hard) so now I just shave my head. I do compensate by having a long beard, tho! :D

Promethius titanium flashlight, Spyderco Chapparal, and either a Lamy or Acme Studio pen every day with the frequent addition of a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield in .40 caliber.

    Nice!

I carry a Klarus flashlight (the one with two tailcap switches for strobe or constant on), one of 15 folders that I rotate on a daily basis. Today it's my Zero Tolerance Hinderer and yesterday was my Hogue X5 with bright blue aluminum scales. Also I carry a Pendleton bandana, a Christy knife for small jobs in my shirt pocket, a Fisher Bullet space pen, a SOG Power Assist with a cord-wrapped firesteel sewn to the pouch. In my wallet are several tools including lockpicks, one of those Grimm Workshop survival cards and a fresnel lens. I also carry a Blackhawk water bottle. I also like those hats with Velcro on them for morale patches. Behind my patches I have secured a ceramic knife, a handcuff key, and 10 feet of kevlar cord.

  7. I like those Body Armor drinks.

Did you know that most headaches are caus d by mild dehydration? The next time you have a headache, drink a large glass of water or two just until you start feeling a little uncomfortable. Wait just a couple of mins or so til you burp. A burp is caused by the pyloric sphincter at the base of your stomach opening up & the water flushing into your intestines where it begins to be absorbed by your body's tissues. Your headache will either be gone or fading within roughly 15-20 mins.

  8. I carry several tools whenever I go out because I like to be efficient as well as prepared. I always find interacting with others who dig it to be interesting as well as edifying. So if you happen to be into it, then drop a reply & let's talk. And maybe share a few pics of our loadouts should you be so inclined.

    Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom

    • This film exceeded my expectations of just how bad a DCEU film could be.  My mother, sister, brother-in-law and I all thought it was bad.
    • Two hours felt like three.  The dialogue was juvenile, awkward and very predictable.  The plot and ending were predictable.
    • Sometimes, it seemed like the actors would wait an extra second for the director to tell them when to speak.
    • Special Guest Star Randall Park, who was the whiny, annoying FBI agent in Ant-Man and the Wasp, co-starred as the whiny, annoying scientist working with Black Manta.  All of his whiny, annoying screen time should have been given to Black Manta.
    • The visuals were very good - better than in the first film.
    • Many shameless "borrowings" of scenes and characters from Star Wars and Lord of the Rings.  The names were changed to prevent lawsuits.

I graciously give the film an F.  There is something definitely Fishy in the DCEU these days.  I think it's time to completely clean the tank.

Thank you for the review! I very much appreciate it.

  10. Oppenheimer, it was pretty good. I've always loved Fat Man and Little Boy with Jon Cusak and Paul Newman and will always consider it a superior movie, but Oppenheimer was indeed watchable. Great special effects, too.
