  8. Five tons of laundry? I dream of five tons of laundry.......right now I have 8 tons of laundry and 12 square miles of vacuuming (not to mention 69 things that need to be dusted).
  9. I feel like staying in tonight....and posting!
  10. Well, my favorites have been mentioned ad nauseum, so I'll just do a shout out for the Friday the Thirteenth endecology.
  11. Another great adaptation was 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest'. I didn't read Kesey's book until after I saw the movie, but I ended up loving both. Fabulous film. Another horrendous adaptation was 'Even Cowgirls Get the Blues'. I really liked Tom Robbins' novel, but the movie was just awful.....even with Uma Thurman to look at.
  12. I'm a Hubba Bubba man myself. Plain or Grape flavour. "There's gonna be a gum fight!!!" http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v335/bastillenight/7cdbad7f.jpg
  13. QUOTE (Oberon @ Aug 3 2005, 02:50 AM) QUOTE (Bastille Night @ Aug 2 2005, 10:13 AM) This is one of my fave pics from our vacation......taken in the garden at the Empress Hotel in Victoria. Where's the little guy? He makes me laugh everytime you post him. Here you go Oberon.......first one is him Stampeding in Calgary, and the second is vacuuming the lawn (he has a weird obsession with vacuum cleaners ) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v335/bastillenight/70ead2cd.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v335/bastillenight/7f5bf624.jpg

  15. I'm with the other KISS Army folks here. First album I bought was in '77, so I would've been 8 years old: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v335/bastillenight/64c59dde.jpg
  16. Puking isn't so bad.....it's when the bile starts to come up that it gets bad. You know, the greenish-yellow thick liquid after all the food and drink is done. ....at least that's what I've been told
  17. QUOTE (spirit of radio @ Aug 1 2005, 08:04 PM) http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b269/sor64/Brands_blue.jpg Man after my own heart......I'm on 9/12 right now. Long weekends rule!!! (but working tomorrow doesn't )
  18. Well, I searched for this topic and found threads for Grisham and King, but no others. So, what are your favorite and most hated book adaptations to film? I am a diehard reader from my formative years, and I am usually disappointed with film adaptations of my favorite books. However, there are a few good ones out there. So to get things started, here are a couple: My Favorites: Stand by Me, Lord of the Rings (one of the 'unfilmable' books), Shawshank Redemption (hmmmm, two Stephen King stories) My Least Favorite: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.......one of my favorite books (another 'unfilmable' book), one of my favorite directors (Terry Gilliam) and two of my favorite actors (Johnny Depp and Benicio del Toro), yet the film didn't work for me at all. So, how 'bout you?
  19. QUOTE (Slaine mac Roth @ Jul 31 2005, 05:50 PM) As a die-hard Harry Potter fan I'm really looking forward to Goblet of Fire as, with the exception of HBP, its my favourite of the books. As for Emma WAtson eho plays Hermione, it'll be legal next year I was watching POA last night, wondering if I was the only dirty old man who was thinking this. Apparently not it seems! Loved all the books, and the movies. The first three books were rather short compared to books 4, 5, and 6, so it will be interesting to see how well they compress the longer books into a movie timeframe. Hopefully it'll work out alright! Rushgoober's comments have given me an idea for another thread! High time I started one since I've been slacking lately.
  20. I picked Monty Python (of course), but Napolean Dynamite would be another good choice http://www.tribute.ca/tribute_objects/images/movies/napolean_dynamite/napoleandynamite3.jpg
  21. I've been slacking and missed getting the first one......seems that I'll be buying both of them very soon. Definitely before Halloween. Can't wait to see Sky High to get my Bruce Campbell fix......I hear that he is brilliant in it (along with several other people).
  22. Did I call you 'Eddie-baby'?
  23. Haha, knew this one wouldn't last long! Jack's turn. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v335/bastillenight/Movies/6d525d41.jpg
  24. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Jun 28 2005, 11:12 PM) Looks good! This should be good...Peter Jackson won't screw this up. Truer words have never been spoken (well, maybe once or twice). This has been Peter Jackson's dream project since he was a child, and probably a driving force for his development of WETA......he'll do it up incredible, and all the naysayers will have to eat crow. I'm looking forward to this (the film, and the crow-eating)!!!
