  1. Yes....a hint, a hint, my kingdom for a hint!!!! Then again, my kingdom wouldn't warrant a very good hint. So hopefully this is correct: Symbols on a field of visions
  2. Huge apologies. There couldn't have possibly another correct answer so I assumed you would go ahead. I guess I shouldn't have dove in without understanding the formalities of the thread. So Belated Congrats on very quickly solving that ridiculous puzzle that I submitted.
  3. Grrrrrr.....stumped again so far. Unless of course you actually did pay a psychic who gave you some information regarding a particular board member and a techno artist: SOLD VISION. SLAINE OFFS MOBY !! I guess I should probably try again, eh!?!
  4. QUOTE (barney_rebel @ Mar 11 2005, 10:16 AM) "Open up... open up" - when the kid is floating at his brother's bedroom window. That's the EXACT same scene that feaked me out for many years. There was also a scene where someone jumps down into a grave and opens up a coffin....I remember that as pretty scary. Hmmm, I may just have to rent this movie soon.
  5. That "captain my captain" part of Dead Poet's Society ......a reign of curses on those darn manipulative movies that crack through my he-man facade (although it's not much of a facade come to think of it).
  6. Salem's Lot freaked me out when I was a kid, but I haven't seen it in years so it may well have sucked. Shawshank is definitely an all time fave. Why is nobody mentioning the one where the trucks start driving by themselves and running over people.....you know, the one with the ACDC soundtrack Wait a minute.....that one sucked too.
  7. Alright, I dub thee "the most aggravating game ever"!!! First, I'm stumped for numerous days on Shro's last clue, only to find out that it was from the same song that I submitted as a clue quite recently. Then, I triumphantly solved Madra's puzzle and came to the board to post my answer........only to find out that Schro had beat me to the punch by a good hour. And now....I stand here tapping my foot, awaiting the next challenge (which I'll probably miss as I sleep or work or change my daughter's diaper (that would be nappy in your tongue Madra, I think!!)) Anyway, what I'm trying to say is: BRING IT ON !!!!!
  8. But what of all those sweet words you spoke in private? Oh that's just what we call pillow talk, baby, that's all.
  9. Well hello Mister Fancypants. Well, I've got news for you pal, you ain't leadin' but two things: Jack and shit... and Jack just left town.
  10. PUT THAT COFFEE DOWN......coffee is for closers. (Glengarry Glen Ross)
  11. QUOTE (Slaine mac Roth @ Mar 6 2005, 05:01 PM) Can I just put my hand up here and say how much I loathe Quentin Tarrantino. Resevoir Dogs was watchable but I found Pulp Fiction to be the most overrated film I have ever seen. I really hated it as it was an incoherent mess. While I agree with 98.2% of your cinematic assessments (no, make that 97.3%), I cannot disagree with you more on this one. Pulp Fiction became a Top Ten movie for me the first time I saw it, and it remains there after repeated viewings. Reservoir Dogs also is at the top of the heap for me. I find QT to be one of the most refreshing filmakers of this generation.....that said, he seems to have spawned an even newer generation of poor imitators.
  12. "Those.....aren't....PILLOWS !!!!" (Planes, Trains and Automobiles) "Joey, have you ever heard of amyl nitrate?" (Airplane)
  13. All of the above (particularily Peter Jackson and Tim Burton) plus Quentin Tarantino, David Lynch, the Coen brothers, David Cronenberg, and Spike Jonze.
  14. Gets even better with repeated viewings http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v335/bastillenight/13614_2.jpg
  15. Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Godfather I and II, Goodfellas, Manhatten, Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back, LOTR.......I could go on all day
  16. John Stuart Mill, of his own free will, On half a pint of shandy was particularly ill.
  17. If the women don't find you handsome, They should at least find you handy !!
  18. Alright, maybe this one is a bit ridiculous so I'll add an easy hint Original puzzle: SANE SCHRO NOT FIRST !! AND BASTILE THE RUDE DUNCE WON !! SHEESH. Hint puzzle: NONE CATCH ME ERR. Gotta get both of them!! I won't be around to confirm the answer tonight, so carry on once you get it.
  19. Oh come on, you're complaining already?? I'll try to think of a hint to give before I go home from work.
  20. Here's the new clue, again with a bit of artistic license in the spelling to enable comedic effect: SANE SCHRO NOT FIRST !! AND BASTILE THE RUDE DUNCE WON !! SHEESH.
  21. SEA SKY COMPLICATIONS ENSNARL = No maniacs in polyester slacks
  22. BEDEVERE: Tell me, what do you do with witches? VILLAGER #2: Burn! CROWD: Burn, burn them up! BEDEVERE: And what do you burn apart from witches? VILLAGER #1: More witches! VILLAGER #2: Wood! BEDEVERE: So, why do witches burn? [pause] VILLAGER #3: B'cause they're made of wood...? BEDEVERE: Good! CROWD: Oh yeah, yeah... BEDEVERE: So, how do we tell whether she is made of wood? VILLAGER #1: Build a bridge out of her. BEDEVERE: Aah, but can you not also build bridges out of stone? VILLAGER #2: Oh, yeah. BEDEVERE: Does wood sink in water? VILLAGER #1: No, no. VILLAGER #2: It floats! It floats! VILLAGER #1: Throw her into the pond! CROWD: The pond! BEDEVERE: What also floats in water? VILLAGER #1: Bread! VILLAGER #2: Apples! VILLAGER #3: Very small rocks! VILLAGER #1: Cider! VILLAGER #2: Great gravy! VILLAGER #1: Cherries! VILLAGER #2: Mud! VILLAGER #3: Churches -- churches! VILLAGER #2: Lead -- lead! ARTHUR: A duck. CROWD: Oooh. BEDEVERE: Exactly! So, logically..., VILLAGER #1: If... she.. weighs the same as a duck, she's made of wood. BEDEVERE: And therefore--? VILLAGER #1: A witch! CROWD: A witch! BEDEVERE: We shall use my largest scales! BEDEVERE: Right, remove the supports! CROWD: A witch! A witch! WITCH: It's a fair cop. CROWD: Burn her! Burn!
