Just got back from the show. It was awesome of course. From where I saw it looked completely sold out. Even the lawn was full. Back in '08 there were actually quite a few empty seats, which could be the combination of the last minute date change plus the fact that it was the second leg of the same tour a year earlier.
The crowd was awesome. Lots of people were even singing along to many songs which I don't remember happening last time. Even I didn't know some of those lyrics.
But I have to ask something. Is it just me, or is the sound system really bad at the Pavilion? This is only the second time I've been there. The first was S&A in 2008. I was sitting in the third row (outside the pit) on Geddy's side that time. And tonight I was in one of the back sections only a few feet from the lawn.
And I gotta say both times the sound has just been really awful. Its just distorted noise and I wasn't even able to make out Alex's guitar or Geddy's vocals. Last time I thought it was because I was too close but this time I was way further back and it basically sounded the same. So I'm thinking this place just doesn't have a great sound system.
I'm actually thinking about heading over to San Antonio next tour to try an indoor arena.
