I read that Rian Johnson has received death threats. I think that's just terrific. :finbar: :madra:  :nya nya:

Okay, okay...this song has definitely grown on me. Up The Ghosts! It sounds in the vein of Meloria, which is what I was expecting. Ghost kind of found their sound with that one. However, I don't think this song is as good as many of the songs from Meloria. I hold the song writing on that album in very high esteem and have wondered if that will be their peak. I hope not. First day buyer though.
I actually think this song is one of their best now...ive played it a a couple of dozen times and it's gloriously flamboyant!

I voted Hem thru Signals, but Rush's best four album span is AFTK thru MP, but really 2112-MP is the five album span nobody has topped.

When you interview Eddie, be sure to ask him why he's squandered the last 10 years of Van Halen and why there isn't at least 3 new Roth albums by now. Can you ask him that? Thanks a bunch.

Good question. My 7th place ranking is a subjective decision based on listening to a handful of songs from 13 and the disparity in quality between Sabotage and their final two Ozzy era albums. It's hard to fathom 13 is great as Sabotage, but from what I've heard its got to be better than TE or NSD. How's that for a line of bullshit? :P1. Paranoid
2. Master Of Reality
3. Vol. 4
4. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
5. Black Sabbath
6. Sabotage
7. 13 (I've never owned it or listened to all of it...someday I'll get around to it when I'm in a Sabbath mood)
8. Never Say Die!
9. Technical Ecstasy
How can you put it at number 7 then?

Somebody that gets it. Thank you."ZeppelinIV is also another perfect 'album'. That's why I've always appreciated it just a little more than Physical Graffiti." Just had this conversation with a guy from work today as I was listening to IV on the way to work (probably because of this thread). He thinks PG the most perfect Zeppelin album. While PG is my favorite, I think IV is arguably the more perfectly-realized album. And as far as favorites, it's a very close second to PG. Maybe too close to call.

Hemispheres is considerably better than A Farewell to Kings, IMO. Both are classics, but Hemispheres is better fleshed out. It's also Rush's best realized 'album' when considering it's structure, coherence, flow, consistency; it has a beginning, middle, and crescendo. The art of the album. And Circumstances aint no damn filler.
Madrigal over Circumstances?
Madrigal is filler, something hemi doesn't have. All thrilla, no filla.
No album with Madrigal can be the greatest of all time.you know if the rest of the rush selections would come over to Hemispheres, we'd be dominating this.
But Hems isn't the greatest Rush album. That title belongs to AFTK :P
And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Madrigal is perfection, and the rest is transcendent. :P
Circumstances is filler, something AFTK doesn't have.
Consequently, I have onions, something everyone has.
ZeppelinIV is also another perfect 'album'. That's why I've always appreciated it just a little more than Physical Graffiti.

I live in KC, so I've run into a number of Chiefs and Royals players (sometimes I say something, sometimes I don't bother). I haven't met any actors worth mentioning (although I have hung out with Brad Pitt's brother Doug--we all went to the same High School, but they graduated a number of years before me). I also waited on Victoria Gotti when I was in graduate school; her goons tipped me $85. As far as musicians I've met:
David Lee Roth
Dave Mustaine
Dave Ellefson
Steve Vai
Kerry King
Steve Harris
Glenn Danzig
Igor Cavelara

I have all the Star Wars movies on DVD. The buck stops here tough. I'm taking a hard pass on this piece of garbage. Kathleen Kennedy and Rian Johnson ruined the franchise. I literally hope something bad happens to these people..

You hit it right on the head. Not having the FF4 in an event as big as Infinity War doesn't seem right. Love those guys.Wow this was super hard to pick, but if I had to choose one I chose the original Iron Man. I went in and expected nothing and the acting and story just really surprised me, it was way better than I thought it was going to be. Plus it started this whole mess! Honorable mentions are practically everything else but I'll say Winter Soldier, Ant Man, and Guardians of the Galaxy.
Funny, all of the rankings have the same bottom three.
Those that ranked all 18 flicks are Marvel fans so having the same bottom 3 doesn’t surprise me.
Side question:
What Marvel character who hasn’t appeared and isn’t yet scheduled to appear would you like to show up in the MCU?
P.S. You might like this thread:
Galactus
I bet this will happen. And I’d guess he’d be the baddie in the last movie of Phase 4 or, more likely, Phase 5. Of course, the Fantastic Four will have made it to the MCU by then. (And Doc Doom and the Surfer). There's so much more room to go with the MCU despite it being so huge already.

Compilation albums should never be included in polls. Live albums are different because they are another version of a song, maybe a different energy, interpretation, even a different 'event'. And a live show adds a cohesion to a (live) album (even if there is studio work involved). There are plenty of bands who haven't put out a complete album worth a damn, but can scrape up enough good songs to have a noteworthy compilation. Doesn't count. #lost art of the album :codger:As an aside, live albums should not be eligible, IMO.
Why? This was a contest for greatest album of all time, not greatest studio album of all time. Live At Leeds is just as great as some of these, and better than a few more.
Then why not include greatest hits compilations?
Aren’t most live albums a greatest hits of sorts?
People could've put greatest hits compilations, no one did. I agree, if we're going to accept live and studio albums, compilations should also be allowed. I think all three are fundamentally different types of album, but they're all albums just the same.
Like I said, just my opinion that live albums and greatest hits shouldn’t be part of this, unless we’re talking something like Nugent’s Intensities in 10 Cities. Not my call though. But since only one live album even got suggested, and no greatest hits did, is at least some indicia most people think of studio albums of new material when asked about the greatest album of all time.
Yeah, I mean, I totally see where you're coming from. I just didn't want people to feel limited at all.

Thanks for making perhaps the most difficult poll of all time.

Thanks for the correction. I knew that probably wasn't right when I was typing it in. I'm just saying, if they reboot The X-Men, Blaze might want to consider auditioning.Paul Dianno easily, but he sang on much better albums. Blaze didn't stand a chance with Maiden; he was following Bruck F*cking Dickinson and many of the songs didn't suit his style or range for that matter. I kinda like X-Factor, and he absolutely nails it on Lord Of The Flies. Thank God Bruce is back, but best of luck to Blaze--even if he looks like some Victorian Era villain now (or Bernard Shaw from the X-Men's rival Hellfire Club).
Bernard Shaw...retired American journalist
Sebastian Shaw...energy absorbing mutant leader of the Hellfire Club
;)
He does look like Sebastian

I don't know about dropping all of those songs, but yes Priest has an incredible catalog. Leaving out Victim is like Iron Maiden leaving out Hallowed Be They Name on the two last tours--the setlists were still great (ok, they should have left out Fear Of The Dark for once) but they have a massive catalog too. I'm glad Priest dusted off gems like Sinners In Hell and The Ripper.I've just realised why they're not playing Victim of Changes. I mean think about it...
It would be extra weird seeing them do that one without KK OR Glenn. It was like the signature showcase of the chemistry those two shared.
Not many bands could afford to drop a concert staple like that one but Priest have so many classics in their catalogue they could drop any songs and not miss a beat. I'm fairly sure they could even drop YGATC, Living After Midnight and Breaking the Law if they wanted to. You could easily put together 6 or 7 20 song Priest setlists each with all different choices on there.

Well, they should play it again. Only this time have the original '81 video playing on the large screen behind the band. :dweez:Priest aren't playing Hot Rockin'? How come???
They played that one on the Angel of Retribution tour.

I know what you are saying with Thor Rag. I really dug it, but it's still fresh. It may not have the staying power and eventually piss me off later. I was instantly miffed how casually they killed off The Warriors Three though. There should have been more emotional impact.

Jesus Christ, from peaking at all of Treeduck's setlist spoilers I may have to see this show. Glen Tipton or not.
