  1. NO FREAKING WAY!!!! BAND OF BORTHERS!!! IS MY FAVE!!
  2. I just bought 4 cds today! woot! sooooo exciting eh'? anyways I got.... 1.The Mars Volta (de-loused in the comatorium).....I recommend it! If you listened to At The Drive-In this is the singer from that band....In some interview...I remember Lerxt saying that he loves this band...because it's a crazy band...Its really good...finally someone doing something different!!! Score! If you do buy it....I think theres a another band called Mars Volta....so be careful....they are a techno band i'm pretty sure of it! 2.The Buzzing Bees (You'll wish you were deaf)....I LOVE this band! I saw them live at a punk show and my friend knew the bassist...pretty cool. The singer is very different...kinda sounds like Weezer to me....But hey, local bands I think are the best ever! I especially like the names they pick for the songs! Like "Sorry, I'm Deaf In Both Ears, Please Talk To My Shovel" and "If Someone Offers A Penny For Your Thoughts. Ask To See The Penny First" and "Bite The Curb - It's Vegan, I Swear" 3. I had to get some jazz because I think i'm probably going to be a drummer for an all girls jazz band...YAY! lol so I was looking around....Stan Getz!!! Tonight i'm Stan Getz! Really good music I think.....I feel asleep to it tho.... but I have to come and start enjoying the music I think....Its really really good anyways. 4. Drum roll please...................... I love Buddy Rich....and his style....so I got Krupa and Rich....Otherwise the 2 most favourite jazz drummers on the planet....Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich. Oh man all you drummers out there....this is a must! The tracks are super long because they have drum solos like in every song....really good...and the jazz is quite good, with the adding of Roy Eldridge and Dizzy Gillespie on the Trumpet, Illinois Jaxquet and Flip Phillips on tenor sax, and Oscar Peterson on the rhythm section.
  3. Sweet Shawshank is the best movie ever! If you can believe it.....we watched it at school for legal studies......pretty cool!

  7. QUOTE (BSG @ Sep 20 2004, 08:14 PM) It was started by zed, innocently enough But soon we could see, it wasn't too rough To make a new rhyme, to make it slick But making it good, now THAT is the trick Creative juices a flowin', not a clue where we're goin' But we just carry on, as if we were knowin' Just what we were doin' as if we had style While folks were busy laughing all of the while With iambic pentameter and cute rhyming lines We plodded our way, ignoring all signs To the land of insanity, with nary a fear Can't make a rhyme? Just have one more beer! Now that's more clever than it was before In fact that woman there, she rolls on the floor And so this poor thread has a life of it's own Like an infection, we remark how it's grown It can't be tamed, like Frankenstein's creation Even the admins played, to our consternation It may last a night, it may be eternal But it seems to be best, when purely nocturnal For the stark light of day may not be so kind And we may regret what once seemed so refined Just one more couplet of this tortured verse And then my dear friends, please call me a nurse Ensure that she's smart, sweet, warm, and witty 'Cause the way I feel now is really quite.... fatigued I pronouce you king of rhymes......anyone want to challenge?
  8. 9. QUOTE (madra sneachta @ Sep 20 2004, 05:46 PM) Oh glorious mods, you have to see we need a forum for poetry Where BSG can quote sketches about Spam while AlsGalPal eats her green eggs and ham. Where movie buff Jack can approach from the right while Indica rhymes off 98 posts a night. Lakeside Maiden and Ghost Girl can be our instructors, and pretty soon we'll all be Superconductors. Dear Lord, what have we started???? LOL!!! OMG thats awesome as well! nice song!!! I love it!

  12. QUOTE (Moonraker @ Sep 9 2004, 09:39 PM) Heh, yeah, unfortunatly the laws of biology dont work that way. You see, after you are no longer in an embryonic state, your body stops producing telomerase, which is necissary to halt the cell death process. You see, everytime your chromosomes in your body go under mitosis and divide, they are slightly cut shorter during the process. The telomerase acts as an enzyme which cuts fills in the space of the telomers formed during this process, so that the DNA can be replicated in full. If you dont produce it, you loose that small portion. SO, this means every chromosome in your body has a shelf life. Once the chromosome no longer contains enough information you need in your DNA, the cell dies through apoptosis. The chromosomes are in a sense biologically designed to die. We are biologically assigned to age and die. Unless you found a way to reactivate those telomerase enzymes, I'm afraid your old. I love my biotech classes I'm taking bio right now too! it's cool stuff!
  13. A very nice find indeed.....
