  1. La Villa is a marathon. YYZ is a sprint. Train for the marathon
  2. The Coliseum is a hotel next to Rexall place. Reviews seem good. I'm serious guys. Calgary booed a S&A song that they had never heard before. It may have been more of an "uhhh?" than a full on boo. But it didn't sound good. I even recalled my gilfriend being shocked who is a huge Rush fan. She thought it was because of the delayed CD release which I fully agree with. I will go to my grave thinking it was an akward moment and they will never come back to YYC again. I hope I'm wrong.
  3. I love these, but you must make your own; let it flow. Here's mine: A sun is rising on a distant shore The steam is pushing on evolution's door Pools of love make us look at it more Til we find that it's us in our own distant hour Don't get hung up on the semantics. I think we all have it in us
  4. QUOTE (GeminiRising79 @ Jun 18 2012, 04:03 PM) I'd like to see Rush this coming tour, but will not be buying tickets until reviewing the setlist. Anyone else doing the same? No, I bought the tour package for myself and my girlfriend. Rush will not be around for ever (live), so get it while you can... price is irrelevant when it comes to art.
  5. If you're talking Tour de force, Neil has already admitted that he'd never do an album like Hemispheres again. Which is good, because La Villa Strangiato broke my balls But I have to say 2112 is no slouch either. Finally, Farewell to Kings has some chops that were difficult to play for me to this day. Spirit of Radio (Jacob's ladder in particular) is challenging. Just goes on and on. Best doesn't end. It's more like "what's new" with Peart.
  6. Don't let Animal burn to death. Don't watch this video.
  7. I've seen a few good rush concerts in Calgary, but the last one (Snakes and Arrows before the album came out -- no fault of their own) actually had boos from the audience. I almost fell over and died. And I knew they wouldn't be coming back. Since I have to go to Edmonton for this, does anyone have comments on the Coliseum since it looks like the closest play to stay? Thx.
  8. Yes, cut out soda -- especially diet. It makes a huge difference. Google Clint Eastwood on soda. He has some funny comments about it, and never drinks it.
  9. Agree with Maven ^^^ We saw the show last year in Vegas and this one was really quite extraordinary. They must have had their Wheaties.
  10. Here's a quick video showing a nice segue from Alex into Closer to the Heart. These are greats seats and we've had them before (although I have to admit I'd like to sit Geddy side once in my lifetime )
  11. Well, we leave tomorrow She's become a bigger Rush fan than I am believe it or not. I'll post some pics.
  12. Rush Double Header: Vegas June 24 Vancouver June 30 All expenses paid in 5 star hotels. Insignificant bonuses are: 1 dozen red roses 1 Apple TV (for Netflix) 1 bottle of 10 year old Dom Perignon 1 box of organic strawberries What do you think?
  13. I haven't read through this whole thread, so I'm sure someone else has said it: Rush concerts are tame compared to everything else out there. I highly recommend ear-plugs though for someone that age. BTW I'm interested in your drum kit -- send me an email
  14. For anyone that's interested I sent the Venetian an email about my shitty customer service. I guess we'll see what happens heh.
  15. Thanks guys, I really appreciate your responses. To add: no, cost is not a factor.
  16. I've been to Vegas a few times, and normally stay at the Venetian or Palazzo. But the Venetian particularly seems to be getting worse in customer service. For the June 2011 show I'm curious as to where people are planning to stay. I'm thinking of trying the MGM Grand or Bellagio this time around (Rush = MGM, Bellagio = O). Any comments on other 4.5 - 5 star hotels?
  17. +2 Third trip to Vegas for Rush with my girlfriend. Awesome band in an awesome location
  18. Not to be scientific or anything If you're going out with a girl, other girls will assume that there's something about you that's worth going out for. So it's a safe bet that you're a worthy mate. If you come across as being single, you haven't proven anything to anyone; so you're a risk. Women happen to care about risk when they're carrying a baby for 9 months.
  19. Unfortunately, long hair on guys last looked cool in the 80s. In fact, my hair was longer than my girlfriend's hair back then lol Nice Hair = youth. So I think you're perfectly normal in being attracted to men with a shag. Too bad you can't get into a time machine and go back to the 80s though
  20. I've spent more time with Rock Band than my drumkit these days. Last song I spent time learning was Slipknot: Psychosocial. Try playing that with one foot lol! Sulfur seems impossible.
  21. QUOTE (Pound of Obscure @ May 7 2010, 11:21 AM) Oh yeah, its been on PS3 forever. Like since it came out. Great fun. Yeah, too bad I can't use XBOX Live to connect to your PS3

Say you like them and expect to take some shit. Having said that, someone is buying those albums and concert tickets. Who are these people? This is what i'm talking about. It has been cool to rip them, when there are countless other bands that suck. It just seems trendy to say " yeah man , Nickleback sucks"... Lame. I hear it all the time. This about says it all. Well, ok. Point taken. But, that doesn't take away from the fact that they suck. Define suck. Bet you can't. I already have in this thread. This about says it all.
