  1. I heard that pyro wasn't used at outdoor venues if the wind was too strong which makes perfect sense.
  2. QUOTE (nobodys hero @ Dec 16 2010, 04:08 PM) Got my fingers crossed for Red Rocks! They love to play there and it was one of the biggest money makers in 2010. Same for here in Minnesota. They came here on BOTH legs of the S&A tour and did extremely well both times.
  3. QUOTE (Digital_Necromancer @ Dec 15 2010, 03:00 PM) I thought the lights were awesome with out lasers. Lasers would be to much anyway considering theres a ton of strobes and led's all over the stage... I say cut back on those damn annoying strobes and bring back the lasers.
  4. For me, a fancy light show is a great part of the experience of seeing Rush live so I would be quite upset if they dropped the lighting and went back to an early 80's type light show.
  5. QUOTE (Daza @ Dec 12 2010, 01:04 PM) QUOTE (circumstantial tree @ Dec 10 2010, 12:04 PM) Yeah, I remember Rush tickets were pretty cheap back in the 80s. Probably no more than 25 dollars per ticket. Why do you suppose that tickets are so expensive now? Probably because no one buys music anymore. A band has to make a living. If I was in a group and no one bought my music, the only way to make a living is gigs. If people complain about the price of gigs, woulod they expect me to do it for nothing. The internet has destroyed music. 20 years from now, there won't be any music. Since they're already multi-millionaires who have MORE money than they'll EVER know what to do with, Rush are already making a GREAT living.
  6. QUOTE (himey @ Dec 11 2010, 01:37 PM) not sure if we will ever know the answer, but how much cash do they put in their pocket after its all done? alot happens between the ticket price and how much they keep. Also, don't they get paid a guaranteed amount for every show no matter how many tickets are sold?

  9. I wish the mods would delete this thread.
  10. I have nothing against selling a ticket for $20-30 above face value to make a little extra spending cash, but to try and make this much of a profit off of desperate fans? I agree with the "go F yourself" on that.

  12. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Dec 7 2010, 07:59 PM) QUOTE (micgtr71 @ Dec 7 2010, 07:21 PM) QUOTE (fonzbear2000 @ Dec 7 2010, 06:55 PM) Great news for sure! And it's about time there was a live show filmed in the USA! I have to agree here. I always wondered why they filmed elsewhere (ASOH, RIR, R30, S&A). I wonder why they don't do more from Canada. Wasn't GUP filmed in Montreal? The reason the last four concert vids were filmed in those countries is simple -- production crew costs are a lot cheaper outside of North America. Very expensive to shoot a concert vid of that scale here, especially in the U.S. Maybe that's why they're doing another leg of this tour -- to pay for the video! When you have as much money as Rush, those expenses would be pocket change.
  13. Great news for sure! And it's about time there was a live show filmed in the USA!
  14. QUOTE (Jean Simmons @ Dec 1 2010, 06:27 PM) No. It's CRAP. Doesn't the fact they've never played it suggest something? Yes, they know something that I know. Power Windows should have been a four track EP The Big Money Grand Designs Manhattan Project Territories They decided to play Entre Nous for the first time ever on the S&A tour. So don't assume that just because they've never done a song live that they don't like it.
  15. QUOTE (Derxst @ Dec 2 2010, 08:10 PM) I expect to pay $150 per ticket to see Rush, and I willing to pay it. If you want a cheap concert, go see Poison or Ratt at the fair. Last year I saw at the Minnesota State Fair for $70
  16. How many damn threads do we need complaining about ticket prices?
  17. QUOTE (RUSHHEAD666 @ Nov 30 2010, 01:48 AM) I just opened up my Rush email. Spring on the East Coast only? Fuckking BULLSHIT. How much will the setlist really change? Does anyone know if they will change the setlist? I went five times this summer. I'm not going to shell out the cash to fly back east. I will wait for the "Clockwork Angels" Tour. Wow, Rush truly is the greatest band in the world. They sure as shit aren't doing all of this touring for greed. They actually love to fuckking play music. I'm impressed once again even though I'm sitting this east coast leg out. I'm stuck on 50 shows for now. Nashville, Chicago, and Detroit aren't on the east coast.
  18. QUOTE (treeduck @ Nov 29 2010, 04:26 PM) QUOTE (tick @ Nov 29 2010, 04:09 PM) QUOTE (treeduck @ Nov 29 2010, 05:04 PM) QUOTE (tick @ Nov 29 2010, 04:02 PM) Its still the Time Machine? Is the new album due before the New North American tour dates? I will be passing if this is just the same show as 2010. No new album till the end of the world Ticky-I mean 2012! Seriously? If that's true, I have no interest in Rush for 2011. Well it's looking likely; they're not releasing an album this year as we know, and they're touring March-June 2011. By July they'll still be in the same position as they were in 2006, a few songs written and recorded, more songs still needed etc. They'll go in the studio to record the rest of the songs and produce the whole album september/october and it'll be mastered and finished by January 2012 ready for a May release and a whole new Clockwork Oranges Tour... This Time Machine Tour is looking like the R30 Tour but without the Feedback album... http://www.therushforum.com/index.php?showtopic=60525&hl=
  19. The N.A. dates and locations are officially in the tour section on rush.com
  20. QUOTE (Babycat @ Nov 25 2010, 04:46 AM) QUOTE (fonzbear2000 @ Nov 25 2010, 05:44 AM) It's almost midnight CST here. Think I'll grab a nice, cold miller out of the fridge, head outside, load the bong up with some nice Golden Acapulco, crank up Passage To Bangkok and chill. Feel free to join me cause it's no fun smoking alone. Bit late - could I join you? Sure, everyone is welcome to join. I've got a quarter pound of this stuff so there's plenty to go around.
