QUOTE (Del_Duio @ Sep 5 2008, 05:25 PM) QUOTE (ArrowSnake @ Sep 5 2008, 11:17 AM) QUOTE (Del_Duio @ Sep 5 2008, 05:04 PM) (Assassin sneaks up behind Clint while he's teaching the people to shoot at the dummies on the horse cart) Clint: "You're gonna' look mighty silly with that kinfe sticking out of your ass.." That's a good one. I haven't seen High Plains Drifter yet. Awesome, now I know what movie I'm gonna rent! Oh man, especially if you like Clint's westerns, it's actually my favorite of them all. A very brief synopsis: There's a town called Lago and long ago the sheriff was bullwhipped to death by the Stacy Brothers gang (I think that's what they were called). Anyhow, flash forward a bit and now the outlaws are getting released from a mexican prison and everybody knows they'll be back for revenge against the people of Lago for turning them in to the authorities. They hire some protection, but it doesn't pan out. That's when Clint "The Stranger" rides in.. The townspeople, cowardly and out of options, ask Clint to do anything he can to protect them from the gang. So Clint basically takes control of everything possible and makes them all look like the fools they really are, in preparation of the gang's arrival. Why does he do this? Some might say this movie's debatable about just who the stranger is, but I think it's pretty obvious. Let's just say there's a bit of the supernatural in play here. Great lines, an interesting story, awesome movie. If you've also seen Pale Rider, it's possible that he continues his character over from High Plains Drifter, although in that movie he was a priest. I just watched High Plains Drifter. What a great movie! Very dark and sinister. I really liked the story, it's different from the other Eastwood movies...

Yeah, that's also a good one. "You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig." Clint Eastwood rules! I agree about Clint, but I think Tuco (the "Ugly") said that line didn't he? Nope, it was Clint.

  5. This is also one of my fave's: the final scene of Unforgiven. Eastwood is very good in this one. "Deserve's got nothing to do with it." Classic!
  6. Alright, there are a lot of western movies and a lot of showdowns... What's your favorite? Once Upon A Time In The West by Sergio Leone is one of my favorite movies of all time so I pick the final showdown scene of that one. This scene is just perfect, the camera angels, the wonderful music of Ennio Morricone, the flashback, the harmonica... pure genius. Cinema doesn't get any better than this IMO Once Upon A Time In The West - Final showdown Awesome scene!
  7. Don't Worry Baby is my favorite song by the Beach Boys. I definitely don't like all of their songs but they did make some beautiful music...

  10. QUOTE (Per2112 @ Aug 29 2008, 06:18 PM) QUOTE (ArrowSnake @ Aug 29 2008, 04:11 PM)It's not on the list, but I choose Snakes & Arrows Live! Different Stages used to be my favourite, but now it's S&A Live. I love the setlist, the new songs sound amazing live, great version of Subdivisions, fantastic drum-solo...And the fact that I was there makes it very special for me. I was there too, but only the first night.. I go with that live-album as my favorite also. Here is a pict from where I was standing.. http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee252/nezperz/alexneil07.jpg Awesome. QUOTE (GeddyRulz @ Aug 28 2008, 09:20 PM) QUOTE (-D-RocK- @ Aug 28 2008, 03:04 PM) QUOTE (ArrowSnake @ Aug 28 2008, 10:20 AM) I think the boys just smoked too much pot when they were recording Caress Of Steel... They must have been stoned out of their minds when they recorded The Necromancer and The Fountain imo. You don't say........ I know a certain online dude who firmly believes the band - certainly Neil - were tripping on acid during the making of the album, and were writing about the "mystic dissociative phenomena." He thinks this about ALL the albums up to GUP, but Caress of Steel in particular. But that guy's crazy. I think I've seen that dude's website. If it's the same guy, than yes he is definitely crazy. He claims that most Rush lyrics are about acid and stuff. Anyway, I remember I once read an interview with Geddy where he's talking about how unsatisfied the band was with Carress Of Steel when they made it. He said: "Yeah, you can almost smell the hash oil on that one".

It's one of my least favorite Rush albums... Bastille Day and Lakeside Park are awesome songs, but the rest of the album just doesn't do it for me.
  14. This one's really hard....But I think I'll choose... Moving Pictures! Snakes & Arrows
  15. Just wanted to say Emotion Detector is such an awesome song! The lyrics are so beautiful, and I love how Neil hits those cymbals before the "right to the heart of the matter" parts, it sounds really powerful. I remember when I was just getting to know Rush, I loved their harder albums (2112 and AFTK) and didn't really like the 80's albums, but nowadays I actually prefer their 80's period.
  16. Sean Connery will always be the best, but Daniel Craig is also pretty damn good! Dr. No and Casino Royale are the best Bond films imo. Roger Moore was a little too old and campy. George Lazenby was a joke! Timothy Dalton was ok, I like him better than Brosnan. I don't like the Brosnan movies, they're just no good. I hope they keep making movies like Casino Royale, that one kicked ass! I've been watching Bond movies since I was a little kid, and I still enjoy them.
