  1. QUOTE (Quyn @ Sep 8 2004, 12:20 PM) ....Jane Fonda and Ted Turner (I wanted to spit on her for my dad but refrained) ...Oh yeah .. and I pissed off Bruce Willis ... he was being a total butt and so I asked him when Jeremy Irons was coming in (they were filming Die-Hard III) and told him what a huge fan I was of Jeremy's Wish you HAD expectorated on that traitorous Hanoi Jane! Good for you about Brucie! Nice comeback!! ____________________________________________ My only "celebrity" encounters were with a couple of sports' "lesser lights". Got an autograph from Matt Nokes (power-hitting catcher) of the Detroit Tigers in spring training in Florida around 1988, hung around outside the Detroit Red Wings locker room at the old Olympia Stadium in the mid 70's. The only names I can recall getting autographs on a couple scraps of paper were Nick Libbett, and Red Berenson (I think). If you remember those names, you're even more of a geek luzer than I! And I don't think I wanna know ya! No Gordie Howe, Steve Yzerman, or Sergei Federov in THAT group. My mom met Al Kaline. <stretching here> Ron Howard and Steve Martin filmed "Parenthood" at a home very near me, but I never saw them. I still drive by the house from time to time. <a MAJOR stretch>
  2. A little Drano, a little plunger action, and just look what happens......

  4. QUOTE (Quyn @ Sep 7 2004, 10:30 AM) Okay -- next quote .... "Well, what shall we hang - the holly or each other?" Sounds like a black comedy of a yuletide flick, was "The Ice Storm" set during the holidays? That's my guess.
  5. Wowzer! Look at all us old farts here! (Male, 40 here.)

  8. QUOTE (Alsgalpal @ Sep 1 2004, 10:07 PM) I mean, it will be interesting anyways, but will add a great twist to the visual scenery.... So AGP, you seem a good person to ask.... Other than Big Al himself, who would you like to see play Lerxst? How about Tony Danza with a little hair coloring?
  9. QUOTE (afansince74 @ Sep 1 2004, 08:40 PM) Here's a replay of an older post of mine.... My wife calls me the other day to say she's driving into town with our daughter and she(our daughter, who's 4 years old) wants to hear the "Me Me Try" song HUH??!! So I'm trying to think what in the world it could be. I can hear her say "it's Rush daddy" in the background. She's done this before with other Rush songs. She always asks to hear "the jungle song," which we finally determined to be "For What It's Worth" from Feedback, which she tells me she thinks sounds like a jungle at the begining. She'll also ask for them by the album cover, like "the bunny one," of course, being Presto. So after a minute it comes to me. And I was right! Tom Sawyer, of course! I love decoding what songs or albums my daughter wants to hear! Especially when it's Rush! A modern-day warrior Me Me Try!!!! - great story.
  10. QUOTE (barney_rebel @ Sep 1 2004, 05:00 PM) Ummm the neighbour's boy (about 3/4 years old and) and I guess a relative (some girl) same age, just ran across my backyard, both nude playing with the hose and spraying water. Our neighbourhood is safe and all... but don't you think that's a bit weird? Only if the "kids" are 34 instead of 3/4!

  13. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Sep 1 2004, 03:49 PM)My six year old son is KING of the "what shall we listen to in the car" deal...his likes include Yes, U2, Queen (well, "Bohemian Rhapsody") and Rush. So, he'll put his finger on his chin thoughtfully and ask for "Tom Sawyer" or "Closer to the Heart." Good Rush mom that I am, I have shared the videos/concerts with him, and he likes "DEW" and "The Big Money" of course... So, anyway, one night I was watching RIR, and it was time for "O Baterista." I called Kerry over and said, "Kerry, just WATCH...." He stood there for 20 seconds and said, "Ahhh, he's just PLAYING THE DRUMS!" and walked away. Needless to say I was crushed. What's so special about playing the drums? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v411/bsg2112/drums.gifhttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v411/bsg2112/elephantdrum.jpg
  14. A man and his wife were working in their garden one day and the man looks over at his wife and says: "Your butt is getting really big, I mean really big. I bet your butt is bigger than the barbecue." With that he proceeded to get a measuring tape and measured the grill and then went over to where his wife was working and measured his wife's bottom. Yes, I was right, your butt is two inches wider than the barbecue!!!" The woman chose to ignore her husband. Later that night in bed, the husband is feeling a little frisky. He makes some advances towards his wife who completely brushes him off. What's wrong?" he asks. She answers: "Do you really think I'm going to fire up this big-ass grill for one little weenie?"
  15. My own personal Spinal Tap experience was seeing Blue Oyster Cult in 1982. Don't get me wrong, I love these guys but when they brought out the big Godzilla..... "thing", it seemed a bit "Tappish". I think Spinal Tap made a lot of old rockers uncomfortable, and made them look silly, not just Joe Perry. Can anyone think of any band or performer which Spinal Tap's satire may be applied to? (And if you say you should be immediately banned and burned at the stake.)

  17. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Aug 31 2004, 12:20 PM) QUOTE (yankeeheel @ Aug 25 2004, 03:39 PM) B&W 603 fronts B&W 601 rears B&W 600 series center Ouch! I'd own B&W's if I could afford them. Hey, 1! 18. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Aug 31 2004, 09:59 AM) "I call it....'Lick My Love Pump.'"
  19. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Aug 30 2004, 11:25 PM) QUOTE (Relaxed_Jack @ Aug 30 2004, 11:41 AM) QUOTE (Test4VitalSigns @ Aug 29 2004, 02:21 AM) It's gonna be really cool when the movie based on Neil's book "Ghost Rider" comes out!! I nominate Neil to play himself! C'mon GG.....little slow on the trigger. I thought YOU would have chimed in by now..... WHOA.....where has my mind been? Of course he should play himself, and as I've stated elsewhere, I'd make a DAMN fine Carrie Nuttall....(I have the dark hair and pale complexion!!!!) Well, you're definitely "ALL NUT"! (All nut, Nuttall? Work with me, GG, it's early.)
  20. "I took Spinal Tap real personal" - Joe Perry of Aerosmith
