  1. QUOTE (rushbass @ Jun 25 2007, 10:11 PM) QUOTE (Gedneil Alpeart @ Jun 25 2007, 08:21 PM) QUOTE (Larks @ Jun 25 2007, 08:04 PM) Cygnus x-1 Every nerve is.... Torn aparttttttttttttttttttttttt That's the one... Never mind what I said before. Just listened to Free Will and Cygnus again and I have to concur.
  2. QUOTE (JoenataArctica @ Jun 25 2007, 01:09 PM) The last chorus of Marathon. that is hella high up. Yeah, like most of you I (try and) sing in the car along with Geddy. I could never hit that bit in Marathon. But I think the Free Will part is even higher. I don't think Cygnus peaks as high, but sustains at quite a level throughout.
  3. Yeah, it was deliberately left open-ended. Did you notice 'Any Way You Want it" on the jukebox? There were tons of little clues that I'm sure could be interpreted in different ways. I'm on the computer @ work and don't have access to the show, but here's a few others I remember: 1. When Tony arrives in the diner he looks over the crowd. Then you see his face again briefly, then you see the crowd again. Only this time Tony's there. It's like he's placing himself in the scene. His satisfied look might suggest that this is as good a place as any for the end to happen. 2. Also on the jukebox, "Who Will you Run To" (Heart). Maybe, who will you run to to save you from your fate, or maybe it referred to the women Tony runs to (it was shown right around the time Agt Harris' mistress came walking in). 3. Tony got onion rings and said "I ordered something for the whole table." Did Tony's actions cause his whole family's execution? Also, did you notice the way they popped those onion rings into their mouths? It reminded me a lot of Catholics taking communion, Maybe it's a 'Last Supper' kind of thing. 4. Meadow having trouble parallel parking -- I always thought she didn't really 'fit' in that family. Does that allow her to escape her family'sfate? 5. The two black guys, the older guy in the ballcap (FBI agent - 'always present at these things') and Phil's nephew could represent past, present and future trouble for Tony. 6. The fade to black -- didn't Bobby say something like when you get whacked it all just fades to black -- in the first episode of the year? Anyway, I thought it was a fantastic ending, full of stuff to talk and debate about. Yeah that's what Chase wants, but I don't think it's fair to criticize him for not wrapping everything up all neat and tidy. Really this whole series was just one big old acid trip to purgatory.
  4. QUOTE (Necromancer @ Jun 16 2007, 11:06 AM) QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Jun 16 2007, 09:53 AM) QUOTE (Necromancer @ Jun 16 2007, 09:47 AM) How do they portray GALACTUS? That's all i want to know. It was a giant black roiling (I love that word!) cloud with a reddish fiery energy at it's heart. Seriously? That's IT??? Oy vey!!! Yeah, I'm sitting there watching that movie and thinking 'the only way this could get worse would be if they screwed up Galactus' then lo and behold. Jessica saves the movie, but only on looks alone. I know, she's dynamite, but I didn't pay $8 just to leer at Jessica. Her character whined so much I wanted to slap her and she really cared more about her stupid wedding than the end of the world. Possibly the worst of the Marvel franchise. I actually think I liked Electra better.
  5. I have a lot of respect for a band that isn't afraid to say what it feels in its songs, as long as it's done tastefully and poetically, like it is in Faithless.
