  1. QUOTE (Tom C @ Feb 17 2008, 05:00 PM) QUOTE (Sign Of Eth @ Feb 17 2008, 04:29 PM) I don't agree that he treats us fans like "garbage." I do. He tried to hide from me when I was stalking him in a restaurant on a ferry. It doesn't bother me either. As a person Neil is quite garbage, but he happens to play drums quite well. How many of us are really good people??? I think many of us would probably act the same way if we were in Neil's shoes. He's someone who values his privacy and we should respect that. I can't blame him. There are fans that just don't no when to quit and become quite annoying.
  2. Welcome aboard! I guess when you've been touring for so long and spending all that time away from home, you tend to not enjoy it as much. I really think there next tour is going to be very small.

  4. QUOTE (gator2112 @ Aug 23 2007, 06:21 PM) I know the answer to this question has been posted, but I can't find it. Is there a story behind the chickens onstage and the comments in the opening video? I don't know, but when I'm at the supermarket and see cooked rottiserie chickens on display, it brings me back to the show memories.
  5. QUOTE (Kudzu @ May 17 2007, 02:14 AM) QUOTE (Dave @ May 16 2007, 10:59 AM) QUOTE Well, how to believe in god or gods without faith? I believe someone can be spiritual and not have faith or believe in organized religion. It sounds to me that Neil would rather trust his own moral compass that he knows to be good and true, rather than have faith in what someone in religious guise is telling him. Exactly. If you believe that something is true, why do you need to listen to someone tell it to you over and over again while urging you to give them money? Sometimes we forget or never think about a higher power until the sh*t hits the fan. For me it was my health. It gives you hope, and a belief that things can get better. In Neil's words I guess it would be called our "Armour". I don't press this on anyone, but is my shield.
  6. I can listen to the song and like the way it sounds, but I can't sing the lyrics "I don't have faith in faith", because I do.
  7. QUOTE (Pwrgirl35 @ May 15 2007, 08:44 PM) This is RUSH's interpretation of Faith. Not ours. Connect or not. I do. And I am a believer in Jesus. I think that music brings forth feelings and conversation. But mainly another kind of understanding. And I GET IT. I just do. Thanks Pwrgirl35. I guess maybe I'm being too critical and need to see it from another point of view, even though I still believe in what I believe.
  8. QUOTE (mazyyz @ May 15 2007, 08:13 PM) QUOTE (WCFIELDS @ May 15 2007, 09:09 PM) QUOTE (hope70 @ May 15 2007, 08:07 PM) QUOTE (priest_of_syrinx @ May 15 2007, 07:59 PM) QUOTE (hope70 @ May 15 2007, 05:50 PM) i like the music alot in this one, but trying to warm up to the lyrics a bit from a Catholic standpoint. I'm looking from a Lutheran standpoint and I think they're very well-written. I don't think they're alienating, I think he's just stating what he believes. Would it be any different for you if he sang: I praise our God, Allah Muhammad is our prophet. You can call me Muslim, You can call me Muslim. And I read the Quoran (sp?) And I believe it, yes. That's faith enough for me. ? [i don't mean to offend anybody, this post is just to prove a point. I apologize in advance if anybody is hurt.] I think some things are a little touchy and should be left out of lyrics for music. Faithless is a great musical tune, but some of the lyrics he's stating what he believes, but I think he could have put it or used words in a neutral way of expressing. I'm not a big fan of the lyrics either......but I dig the song. I like the lyrics and I think they are getting ultra-criticized for it. The music is incredible, and IMO one of the better songs on the album. it's a great musical tune but hard to swallow the lyrics if you are not atheist.
