  1. Does that include no more albums? Because if so, I'll make you a little side bet :) There will be no albums. They will not be writing love letters to fans solely for the purpose of expression. Dropping albums requires touring behind them. And they are DONE touring. Bank on it. :) I hope you enjoy the taste of crow. There's a fine line between hope and denial. :) Ride 'em, cowboy. :D
  2. No, they won't. But it's your prerogative to believe otherwise. Ask yourself. What happens if they don't? Nothing, that's what. You'll keep living your life. And so will they.
  3. You already know the logic in your theory is sound. :) Tendonitis and arthritis do not get miraculously cured. They can be managed. They will only get worse with repeated stick banging or high energy finger tapping. They're not going to pick up in two to three years. This is the end of Rush's tenure. And a solid, well rounded, miraculous tenure it was. Far more than most bands. I don't understand the fans who continually lament retirement. It's really self gratuitous, given what we've already gotten. Strange.

  5. Neil is done after Saturday. Believe it. He's earned it. It's all good.
  6. LOL. Sure. That isn't expecting much., :) No residencies. A Geddy solo album may be likely. A one-off here and there in Toronto, NY, or La may be possible in a couple years or three, but only remotely.
  7. This, if anything, will be what changes his mind. He's got enough of that these days. Enough to provide for his retirement and his family will never want for anything. It's ovah as of this Saturday. Accept it, kids.
  8. LOL. There's a Sizzler. And an IHOP. And a number of soul food joints. Not much else that isn't antiquated with urban Angeleno decay. :) BTW< for those not in the know....save your appetites for post-show street cart vendor bacon wrapped LA dogs. A finer hot dog on the west coast, there is not. Load up on two of those bad boys with all the trimmings and thank me later.
  9. LOL, honest. There really isn't a great bar near the Forum. Trust me. Best option is the mezzanine bars inside the venue.
  10. Oh, and we can definitely expect a special show surprise at this one, count on it. :)
  11. There aren't a lot of easily accessible decent pre-show bars around the Forum in Inglewood that are in close proximity to the venue and parking lot. :) But there's VIP bars downstairs in the Forum mezzanines. There's a entry fee though.
  12. I think he is having a good time BECAUSE he knows it is coming to an end. The soreness, the travel, the being away from family, I am glad he is having fun, but IMO, it's not because he'll miss it. You know how when you give a 2 week notice for a job, and you are actually happy to go in to work? You can approach it 2 ways, go through the motions or give it your best for 2 weeks. It's on the employee. And Neil is a great employee dedicated to his skill. You are anticipating something new. A new beginning. And that feeling is awesome. Spot on, I think they all might know it's the end why would they bring all the stage props, all the different instruments on stage with them this time around? Geddy and Alex could of use 4-5 instruments n this Tour but they choose to bring out the vintage stuff one last time, plus Neil 1970's era Drums too for the second set. Yep., It's all obvious to anyone who's actually paying attention. Unfortunately, some fanboys hereabouts just can't wrap their heads around it. Pity. Ah well. The world will keep spinning nonetheless.
  13. The sounds of crickets will be the best songs on the next tour. :)
  14. What he said. All good things...:)
  15. No second leg for R40. Perhaps a one-off in Toronto, LA or NY in a couple years.
  16. Waiting for a declaration from Sir Peart would be unwise. :)
  17. I take it all back. Of course there's going to be a second leg. And a European and South American leg. And obviously they're going to circle around for Cleveland. On a few select dates, Neil will be taking over guitar duties, Ged will don his DJ gear and spin house dubs from a Mac turntable while Alex plays bongos, forging a cutting edge New Millennium EDM-folk-Dixie fusion edition of Countdown. Fear not, selfless fanboys. Your greatest hopes will soon be rewarded.
  18. Precisely. It's not rocket science. Courtesy gives everyone a maximum experience. Most venues' staff will move you to the floor or a standing area if you request nicely and point out you'd rather not block others while you rock out.
  19. Unfortunately, at a concert venue, your personal space also tends to involve sight lines and potential distractions of people behind you. You can either respect that or you can't. We tend to give up the 'right' of personal space in a concert venue holding 20 thousand folks. The best way to ensure everyone has maximum enjoyment is cooperation.
  20. Except for everyone else around you. We've all had this discussion before. :) Generally speaking, concert etiquette dictates to ensure maximum flow and energy for all attendees possible, one ought to follow suit with what their section is doing. If one doesn't like what their section is doing, one ought to ask an usher to escort them to a section that is.
  21. Although I understand what you're saying, when I see people just standing there I wonder how they can do so. Doesn't the power of the music make you at least want to tap your foot? Also, since crossing your arms is body language for protecting oneself and putting up a barrier, standing there like that makes one look like they are not comfortable in their surroundings. The power of music has varying levels of symbiosis. You're defining an experience based solely on what you prefer doing. That doesn't mean the guy standing there quietly isn't enjoying it as much, perhaps far more, than yourself.
  22. I was going to say something similar. People do enjoy music and performance in different ways. I would hazard to guess that at least some of these fans who seem subdued or not "into it" are really just filtering out the stuff around them and doing what they can to absorb what they are witnessing. Like they don't want to miss a second. When I was younger, 14 or whatever, I did the air drumming and screaming and fist pumping stuff. When I go to shows now, I tend to pay more attention to the details. I wonder if people seeing me standing or sitting there with my arms folded and gazing intently at the stage are thinking I'm subdued? Exactly. As I've grown older, I'm far more inclined to study and absorb the experience, to immerse within so to speak, rather than to let loose some abandon. That's for kids. Been there, done that. I see people all the time at some of these older guys' gigs and their eyes are closed and they're simply grooving privately to music they've listened to for a very long time.
