  1. Im pretty much in agreement with alot here, I doubt they can pull it off, but Ill at least wait and see.... I dont expect the quality of the original albujm/tour, but if they can pull performances at least to level they did at the superbowl a couple years ago, i'd be content with that..
  2. Read this on Reuters (once again posting this from my phone so I cant post a link) but The Who (rather Townsend/Daltry) are touring this fall and next spring the Quadrophenia album in its entierty.. I think this is pretty cool I guess, I wonder if they could still pull it off? Anywho as much as I love Quad, Id imagine tickets would be astronomically high for the show and probably a pass for me, though if they are able to still do the album justice I would love to see some live release from this tour...
  3. I really don't understand the negative reaction to Halo Effect... It's a very nice song, and a great breath of air on the album.... I think an acoustic arrangement would even more beautify this track and would be excellent after the drum solo.
  4. Believe it or not, I still am in the absorbing phase of this album (which will likely last until I see how these songs hold up live)... and I have not even tried to fit in this album with the grander and larger Rush body of work as a whole.. I can say that I love the album, very very much, and would say that it is very very likely to see this crack my top 10 (possibly even 5) but I am still not at a point to categorize it fully.
  5. I think HE lends itself for an easy acoustic arrangement, and it pretty short and would fit in right after the solo.... IMO
  6. Sorry if this is in the wrong sub-forum, this topic I think could fit in both here and in the tour sub-forum.. ------------------------------------------------------ I was thinking about what Alex could do for the now-traditional post-drum solo acoustic track... and I was thinking the boys could re-work "Halo Effect" into an acoustic set and both Alex and Geddy could come out and do the track on stools... Much in the same way "Resist" was re-worked and performed after the drum solo live on previous tours. Would this be a good idea, and would it work?
  7. R.I.P to one of the greats... #fuckcancer
  8. Attendance was not too bad in Austin between half and 2/3.... but yeah, it's a problem... and you know it has to be somewhat dishearting to the band. Especially since they are a band that now is very solid based on the performance I saw, and from what Im hearing on other shows. And as much as I think Portnoy was in the wrong (behavior wise) in his departure of the band, maybe he was right in one aspect...maybe the band did need a break, some time to recharge and come back in full force a few years down the road?
  9. Been busy and have not been able to post, but here are some pics from the concert a week ago.. (I have a lot more, but I am just gonna post a couple, I cannot resize these with iphoto) Crimson Projekt http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/602624_2273316168679_1356326087_n.jpg http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/564011_2273316248681_884742133_n.jpg Dream Theater Good Full Band Image with the stage setup http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/532509_2273319608765_1110654637_n.jpg Jordan on Keytar http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/532480_2273317808720_646749393_n.jpg John and John http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/553958_2273319288757_1932418966_n.jpg Band at the End http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/318740_2273320648791_1357307870_n.jpg
  10. While I voted for Keys on the whole, I will say this "Homeworld" is probably my single favorite track from a latter day Yes album.
  11. Blabbermouth just posted the legal statment by the band in responce to Tate's suit. (sorry for no like cannot copy and paste from my phone)...it is very telling, and makes Tate off to look like a complete dick. Apparently Tate tried to option an Operation Mindcrime film without his bandmates consent or knowledge... The musical dirction causing depleting album sales and recieving poor reviews was obvious to anyone with ears....the band will be better off without Tate EDIT TO ADD: posted this at the same time as the post above, sorry for redundacy
  12. For those who know, is there any difference between the Keys 1 and 2 studio material, and the actual album "Keystudio".. I have never actually heard the latter in full before... only the keys 1&2 double albums
  13. I know this band has been mentioned here before but I finally picked up one of their albums...thir first album "Hinterland" was amazin, and thir other 2 albums shot way up on my want list
  14. I too just have whbwh, and wanting more
  15. The Police Aerosmith, I like some, but never really got into them Springsteen (seems to be common)
  16. I was listening to "Magnification" today, first time in a long while, and really enjoyed it..and thd thought about what was the bes Yes album post 1990. I still have not heard either "Talk" or "Open Your Eyes" mainly due to people keep telling me to avoid those albums...but aside from "Union" I pretty much like all their post 90s albums. I liked FFH and while alot of people didnt like Yes without Anderson, I still found the album very enjoyable.... "The Ladder" has a couple stinkers, but is mostly good. So for this poll Im gonna vote for the keys material...I really enjoy those songs.
  17. QUOTE (J2112YYZ @ Jul 8 2012, 08:15 AM) QUOTE (The Owl @ Jul 8 2012, 12:15 AM) Just got back from seeing Dream Theater here in Austin.. HOLY shtie was it amazing......Ill post a full review and some pics later on when I can (busy weekend), but one special thing we got was an extended encore... Today (well yesterday, as I am posting this after midnight) was the 20th anniversary of Images and Words, and they've been playing just (SPOILER) "Metropolis" as an encore for the duration of the tour, tonight they played "Pull Me Under" "Another Day" and "Metropolis" in honor of the anniversary... great show... had an amazing time. Dammit, why didn't they start playing Pull Me Under and Another Day at the begining of the tour so I could've heard those two songs? Like I said, yesterday was the day I&W came out 20 years ago... so I think it was just that show..... but I dunno.

  19. QUOTE (PolarizeMe @ Jul 6 2012, 10:32 AM) I'm guessing you got the grey cover version. When you think about it though, the deluxe edition of Get All You Deserve is at a reasonable price. Most BluRays/DVDs I know are at a retail price of $16.99-$19.99, and double CDs are also around that amount, so if you combine both, the total price should be around $34-$40 which is somewhat around the actual price for the deluxe edition. There's going to be a standalone BluRay, and a standalone DVD version of it, but the CDs are exclusive to this version which doesn't surprise me. Steven's considering a vinyl version of it for sometime later. I did get the grey cover version of "Anesthetize" ... Im not complaining about the price of these things that Wilson puts out, they are usually worth it... And I am being a bit sarcastic in my complaining... but Wilson does seem to put out a big multi-disc "must have" set with every single project he releases, and thus my frustrations come out in the hurting of my wallet.
  20. Didn't get that one... The last big thing I ordered from Burning Shed was the ultra deluxe edition of the "Anesthetize" live release.. and that was like $70
  21. Well, there goes another 50 bucks... Ughh, damn you Wilson!
  22. Remember this video from almost 2 years ago now.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLcYBrQcEsA Alot of people were speculating that this soundcheck jam eventually would be a song on CA.. but we would have to wait a year and a half to find out.. Now that the album's been out for a while, what do you think of that soundcheck from 2010? While that jam was not an actual Clockwork Angels track, it does seem very like the title track in many ways, and I wonder if that was the title track in it's early phases? Your thoughts?
  23. Out of stock, I can't even find out how my wallet will be raped this time.
  24. so, who will make a bigger impact in their rookie season, Luck or RGIII?
