  1. I'm going to go with Armor & Sword because it was the first song on the record that REALLY struck me as great. It reminded me of the epic, progressive Rush of yesteryear. (But it could've been Spindrift or Bravest Face if they'd been track #2. They're great songs too.)
  2. Pink Floyd is amazing. If I had to live on a desert island with one of their records I'd probably take "Meddle" but I'd try and sneak the "Atom Heart Mother" title track... So "Meddle" is my favorite. "Ummagumma (Live)" is up there. And "Animals" is by far the most underrated Pink Floyd album (it's a Gilmour Fest beneath all the Roger Waters doom and gloom...), although "Obscured By Clouds" is pretty underrated, too. David Gimour inspired me to learn how to play the guitar. To this day I can hardly solo outside the minor pentatonic scale thanks to him. If only I had been old enough to see them in their pre-Dark Side days... (sigh...) Oh, and in response to the question about which album started "Classic Floyd": As an album Atom Heart Mother is topsided by the amazing title track, but overall probably one of their worst albums. In my opinion, Meddle is where it all culminated.
  3. I voted for By-Tor, though Anthem and Best I Can show Rush at the peak of their Who/Led Zeppelin worship (my opinion.)
  4. I voted for 26 and male because....um....I'm 26 and male.
  5. I actually voted for Force Ten, but Time Stand Still was a VERY close second. (Also, Open Secrets makes SO much sense to anyone who is or has been married.)
  6. Tough to say, but I'm sticking with the 80's. With the synth the rule and not the exception Alex completely rethought his style and managed to throw out some amazingly fresh rhythm guitar and killer leads like Analog Kid and Tom Sawyer.
  7. Between the Wheels. My brother took my wife and I to see R30. I was a relative Rush newbie and they played this song and it was so good I had to ask my bro what it was. A very memorable experience. (Second place is Distant Early Warning.)
  8. Although the live version KILLS the album version, Roll The Bones is my favorite. Uplifting and motivating, and responsible for changing my personal life philosophy.
  9. Red Barchetta. Musically and lyrically it is one of Rush's most exciting songs. It kinda makes me feel like I'm the one driving the car...
  10. .....so....hard to....decide..... I just can't stop listening to Subdivisions. The subject matter and the music hit this Illinois boy hard.
  11. While Marathon and Manhattan Project are masterpieces, I've always been partial to Grand Designs.
