  6. LF will be hard to fill...Schwarber's offense was awesome but his defense was pretty rough. Bryant can do it at the cost of having La Stella at 3B...Soler is terrible in left.

You think Soler would be worse than Schwarber out there?

Horrible break. I was looking for 30 and 100 from him with about a .360 OBP. I was shocked when I heard, the last thing I heard before that was that it was a sprain.

I don't follow the Cubs so ...why was Schwarber in the outfield ?

  7. Congratulations to IU. Perfect record at Assembly Hall. The fans have a lot to be proud of with this squad.

If we catch these guys in the tournament, we would lose by 30.

Good luck in the B1G tournament.

Maybe it's different in other major conferences but in the Big Ten the regular season championship is considered bigger and more important than the conference tournament. I echo nap's call for no injuries. Looks like we have to face Purdue in the semis. I expect a loss there, with Rojo out and hopefully Morgan getting some rest for the shoulder.

I think IU will get a 3, maybe a 4, though possibly a 2 is within reach if we win the tournament. IU is 11-17 all time so the historical record is against us.

In a minor conference, where the sole bid is on the line, the conference tournament is a big deal. For the powerhouses, not so much. They're basically jockeying for seeding. There can be a bit of drama in that mid-performing teams in power conferences can occasionally play spoiler.

Even beyond that though, and maybe this goes back to the days when there was only one team per conference that would go, the ACC tournament has always been bigger than the regular season whereas with the Big Ten it was always the regular season that seemed bigger.

I remember back in about 1974 when the eventual champion Wolfpack had to win a 103-100 3OTgame vs Maryland in the ACC final just to make the NCAAs where they interrupted the UCLA dynasty for a year. Maryland may have been the second best team that year and didn't even make the tournament.

Yeah I'm old and remember that ...crazy to think of that now days.

  8. Yikes. Almost blew a 19 point lead...still counts as a win though. 12-3 with at Ill, at Iowa, and home vs the Terps left. A road win is never a given. But Iowa is falling apart down the stretch, so maybe the Hoosiers can take that one. We'll see if the Terps can put it back together, they kind of seem like a team whose parts are greater than the sum of the whole.

I meant to watch this last night, after the TAMU upset of UK, but I fell asleep. Glad Indiana won.

    Yep, me too.

What did you think of the tech on the UK player?

Pretty silly , but hey it's UK so I'll Let it slide. :D

Piotr Grudzinski Passes Away Aged 40

Riverside guitarist Piotr Grudzinski has died, according to a statement on the Polish band's website.

In a short statement the band simply say: "In our deepest pain and disbelief we would like to inform you that our dearest friend and brother Piotr Grudzinski has passed away this morning. We kindly ask you to respect the privacy of his family and friends."

The band had been preparing for a Polish tour with support acts Lion Shepherd and Sounds Like The End Of The World. They are also booked to headline this year's RoSFest on the Saturday night.

There are no further details as yet, although unconfirmed reports online suggest Grudzinski had attended a show by The Winery Dogs in Warsaw last night

    I'm absolutely gutted.

    RIP mate.

According to his Facebook Portnoy confirmed he was at their show.

Illinois worries me it's always tough there. Iowa will probably kick our buts ,but we can beat the Terps.

  11. I don't watch it as much as I used to, since I'm working nights. I did catch some of the Wisconsin-Maryland game yesterday, and the Badgers looked GOOD. The #2 team in the nation, Maryland looked slow and uninterested. The Badgers came to play; the Terps not so much.

Diamond Stone is a classless punk and should have been ejected. The refs completely blew the call.

I love watching college basketball and watch most of the Big Ten games. And some of the Butler games on FS1. I like it more than college football. (Maybe because Indiana actually has a college basketball team.) I find it much more watchable than the NBA.

What happened to the Cocks yesterday? Just not ready for the big stage?

Good to see you're watching Butler , I'll always be a fan after they got me through the dark years of IU.

So, more OG and less Troy?

I say that and OG plays horribly and Troy goes 8 for 9.

    Nice minutes for Morgan tonight.

OG is my favorite player , with Troy I just hold my breath and hope for the best. :scared:
