  1. QUOTE (rusher @ Dec 29 2010, 01:42 PM) Anyone who sends money to an individual person before receiving the product that is not through a legit market (eBay, Amazon, stubhub and such) is just asking to be taken. Especially on Craigslist. Yep. I learned my lesson about Craigslist last summer. Had 2 great seats to Albuquerque, "sold" them on craigslist and never received payment. Stupid, stupid, stupid. 150,000 worth of college degrees didn't prepare a dork like me for the ticket scammer. HW

I, good sir, speak only the Queen's English, as is befitting a gentleman of the first order. Snarf! I was trying to find an error, good sir, in your text; but by George it's perfect. Well done, chap! Your command of syntax and grammar are exquisite.
  4. Way back when, on the S and A tour, I had a bottle of champagne delivered to Geddy and Alex's table. I was working at a restaurant that had an relationship with another restaurant that the boys happen to frequent every time they're in the area. I wanted to respect their privacy, but I really wanted to let them know how important they were to me. So, I had a REALLY nice bottle sent over. I never got to talk to them (Don't really know if I could) and I didn't see their faces when the bottle was delivered--But I'm told Geddy said, "oh, well that's nice."

  7. Good post. Couldn't agree more. I look forward to the few little glitches that arise during a show. I find it interesting that so much emphasis is placed on Ged and the current state of his voice. It seams to me, honestly, that if anyone has lost a step it's the God that sits behind the drumkit. (Gasp!?@) Yes, I said it! I think Neil is very close to the end of 'being Neil.' But that's okay! For Christ's sake, we all get older. And while we might be wiser with every day, physically we just break down. Enjoy it while it lasts--We are WAY closer to the end than we are even to the middle. HW
  8. Good post. Happens every time. There is only one cure and we all know what that is, and it's expensive! I have also found that a few days of DS disc 3 helps. It is simply the greatest accidental live album in the history of modern music. (is that a touch overstated?)
  9. Marathon was a treat and there was just enough darkness to really feel the production. I wish shows didn't have to start during daylight! Second set-- Side two MP of course! Just EPIC
  10. QUOTE (danielmclark @ Jul 20 2010, 03:50 PM) QUOTE (cygnus_thegodofbalance @ Jul 20 2010, 10:31 AM) You know, it's just as annoying when people bitch about those bitching about the setlist. Oh yeah? Well people that bitch about the people bitching about people bitching about bitching... wait. Did I get that right? The people... the people that bitch about the bitching people that are bitching about the people that are bitching about the... fk it, nevermind.
  11. Great stuff Gene! I don't think I've see the COLOR of a Rush show captured so well. And that includes Andrew and John. HW
  12. Dude, I was whacked out on heroin when I saw Rush and it was saaaaaaawheeeeeet! Seriously, This is a classic case of slowing down for the car crash while traveling in the other direction. (melody) We can learn to resist, anything but drunk posters. HW
  13. Oh my God! I AM 16 again. I'm so pumped for this show. I was at opening night but I can't stop thinking of it against the RR backdrop. It's almost to much: Camera Eye, with the glow of the city facing you and the towering rocks to your right and left... Some songs were make to play at Red Rocks. They have to film this one! HW
  14. Excellent review. I actually loved how the writer used Limelight as a metaphor. Very clever, very thoughtful. I also agree with his 'misses'. 2112 in Albuquerque was lacking a bit. I'm still scratching my head at the dismissal of MalNar.
  15. While I agree with the others who say you're going to lose this lawsuit, I do have a great deal of sympathy for your cause. Our tickets are a contract but yet we have no rights. This has always been the case. Rain or Shine means nothing when the fine print reads that anyone associated with the band or promoter can cancel for any reason at any time--especially, "safety"! Hell, Iron Maiden couldn't even honor the show time on the ticket! Dream Theater started a half hour early--I missed one of my favorite bands! Lawsuit? Nah, I'm not going to win that one. And your not going to win your case either. Props for fighting the good fight though. Your lawsuit, by the way, is NOT going to 'drive up the ticket prices' as has been suggested but it will tie up the court and get another wealthy lawyer even richer. Blind greed, on the other hand WILL drive up prices.
  16. I haven't had a chance to post since seeing opening night in Albuquerque. It was my first opening night since my first tour back in 85. So special! I find this thread so funny. It appears every tour! I rely on it: This tour is bad because... This tour is good because... Why are you bitching about this tour... Why can't I bitch about this tour... My first response to the show was, "This is the setlist I've been waiting for, for 25 years--And my opinion is the same today. Do some of you REALLY think that Rush should mail it in and not play or write new material? Seriously? For better or really better, they're musicians driven by their desire to create. No band, and I mean NO BAND does a better job managing old with new. As for the mistake and glitch element. The funniest part of the show was Neil's dropped stick--Not for the drop itself but for the gasp heard throughout the theater when it happened. It was as if someone had been shot! " DEAR GOD!! NEIL DROPPED A STICK! WHERE'S MY I PHONE, WHERE'S MY COMPUTER? I MUST ALERT THE MEDIA! Rush fans are the best! Seriously, this was my 7 year olds second show and my 40th and I can't think of a better way to spend an evening. Thanks to all those who were awesome to my boy and especially to those who blew the smoke in the other direction...See, we can be a community! HW
  17. Hi everyone! I just landed 2 amazing seats for opening night and have two really good ones available--Section 3 row W. No scalp, just true fans. HW
  18. Uhhh, more please! This album is going to be awesome! Sorry, I did not read all 25 pages but has there been a lot of discussion about mix? Geddy's bass sounds like AFTK Rickenbacker! He is straight up shredding. Memo to all those who have written Mr. Lee of as a 'once-great' HE STILL KICKS YOUR ASS! HW
  19. TSOR makes perfect sense. Great, classic opener. Lyrically, it's always been a good opener as well. When did everyone turn on S and A? I still love it though I don't need to hear 6 songs from it this time. But let me tell ya: I'd rather hear 45 minutes of S and A and Vapor Trails than Caress of Steel in its entirety--
  20. QUOTE (snowdog2112 @ May 23 2010, 07:53 PM) QUOTE I'm Still going with 2112/Overture! This would be a great start! Followed by Freewill! I don't understand why anyone would be excited to hear stuff like 2112 or Xanadu at 7:00 in bright daylight while a third of the crowd is still trying to find their seats. That would royally suck. Although I much preferred when they played indoors, even the outdoor shows would be a lot better if they started an hour or so later. Most people don't get home until midnight anyway, what difference would it make to be another hour later? I just think having a huge part of the show (most of the first set) in daylight really detracts from the energy of the whole thing. It feels less like an intense musical event and more like some July 4th concert at the park. I sure am glad I got to see them indoors in 2008 again in Austin. I completely understand that things have changed but it's just not as exciting as when the lights would go totally dark indoors right as the show started and it was generally much louder in most cases too. Oh well, I'm just getting old. this has as much to do with union labor and overtime as anything else.
  21. QUOTE (Funky Chicken @ Apr 22 2010, 08:47 AM) I'll bet the second set opens with a non-MP song followed by TS and the rest of MP. Gotta give the stragglers time to get back to their seats. I doubt that--I'm guessing there will be a pretty extensive video entry into TS--Not the awesome South Park bit, but a new one reflecting Moving Pictures as a whole--perhaps a compilation of TS, Witch Hunt, Red Barchetta and Limelight videos. This will give the idiots (stragglers) time to get the F back to their seats. The second set WILL begin with TS. I just BELIEVE it! I am so freakin pumped. I don't think I'm going to make it to June 29 HW
  22. Finally scored on a pre sale! 19th row dead center at red rocks for the second night. Anyone who knows RR knows that these are the best in the house for sound quality and full sight lines. YESSSSSSSSS!!!!
  23. I'm not so sure? With escalating ticket prices I might like a little extra bang for my buck, especially if they rolled back the start time and maintained the same show length. Red Rocks starts at 8pm--I love to see Animals as Leaders for 45 minutes (starting at 7) and Rush starting at 8. Why the F not? HW
  24. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Apr 19 2010, 12:16 PM) Fancy Dancer You Can't Fight It Bad Boy Garden Road Not Fade Away Yeah! That would be great... Maybe they could open for Blue Oyster Cult as well.
  25. I just plugged in to ticketbastard and tried to buy two for Red Rocks--None available. Red Rocks falls after one of the 4 day breaks, do you think they might add another night? Also, they've talked in the past about wanting to film at RR but haven't due to logistics. Could this be the year?
