QUOTE (DeanWinchester @ Feb 7 2007, 08:10 AM) Torchwood? Sorry, but think it sucks in a big way. It had a promising premise, and was billed as an adult show. But, swearing and a little suggestive sex doesn't an adult drama make. BSG shows how to make an adult drama. Black Books is another awesome comedy. Dylan Moran and Bill Bailey play well off of each other. Did you really get into Torchwood though? It took me a while. Once you get past the fact that everyone in Cardiff (I think that's where it takes place) seems to be bi-sexual, it's actually a great show. A bit darker and more sex-filled, but good action, plot, character development, drama, etc. And I love that they brought Jack back in the show. His whole dark past thing is good to have thrown in the mix. And at the end of the last episode you hear the Tardis! I can't wait for season two. Oh, and I'm almost positive that the hand in the jar is the Doctor's hand that got cut off in Christmas Invasion.

QUOTE (Nickslikk2112 @ Feb 5 2007, 04:55 PM) I love Spaced, being a Brit I watched it on Channel 4, it used to be my Friday night highlight , but the buggers don't seem to want to repeat it. Must get the DVDs. Presuming most of you are Americans, it surprises me that you enjoy British comedy that wasn't that well known in Britain. I have resigned myself to the fact that American TV sucks except for a few good SciFis. However, I recently watched all of the new Doctor Who, The first season of Torchwood, the first few episodes of Red Dwarf, and all three seasons of Black Books, and of course both seasons of Spaced, and have come to the conclusion that British TV rocks.

Excellent, too bad you didn't see the episode before that, it explained a lot about their situation and how they got there.
  4. This is definitely a new one. There's a minute-long clip on adultswim.com and there's a leaked portion on YouTube, but this is new and definitely the best so far.

Lol, it's cool, just bumping it up in case any other fans come out of the woodwork.
  7. Oh. Well in that case no worries. I've been lurking for months and post rarely so believe me. You can't get rid of me.

I hope they have a scene together, I'll die happy if they do! Bruce: This...is...my...BOOMSTICK! Neil: This...is...my...DRUMSTICK! (That would rock, huh? I should write scripts!) Enough of me, here's the article from Variety: QUOTE Aqua Teen' to bigscreen Adult Swim adaptation marks First Look's initial foray into animation By DAVE MCNARY 'Aqua Teen Hunger Force' Adult Swim's feature version of surreal animated series "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" has been set for a March release by First Look Pictures with an opening of more than 800 playdates. The 86-minute pic, written, produced and directed by co-creators Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis, marks First Look's initial theatrical foray into animation as well as Adult Swim's first feature under the Williams Street banner. The film centers on the origins of "Hunger Force" characters Meatwad, Frylock and Master Shake and an immortal piece of exercise equipment threatening the balance of galactic peace. "It was too big a story to do in 11 minutes," Willis told Daily Variety. "It's based on our fear of exercise equipment." Maiellaro and Willis will be voicing several parts each, and several members of the TV cast will be reprising their roles. Bruce Campbell and Neil Peart of the band Rush provide voice talent as well. "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" premiered in September 2001, when Adult Swim launched. More than 60 episodes of the series have been completed. Not meaning to be rude but this info about Neil and Bruce has been out since last Summer at least. Well I knew that the Neil thing was old news, but the Bruce Campbell thing was news to me. If I had heard it earlier then I'd forgotten about it. I'm human. I sure hope that this experience doesn't put you off frequenting this forum. If there is anything I can ever do to make your visit here better please don't hesitate to let me know! Jeez, just pointing out that it's been out there a while...

I really wish I had BBC America. I had to resort to...other measures. Good thing is they're planning to release a North American version of the DVDs!
  12. Can't go wrong with an Abbot and Costello flick.

QUOTE (ReRushed @ Jan 4 2007, 10:46 PM) I've never seen it. I checked up on it and the "Shaun of the Dead" guy is in it! I love that movie! It's on BBC America. Season 2 starts on January 12th. I'll check it out. Actually a lot of the cast is the same. Shaun Dead..................(Spaced) Shaun...........................(Tim- Main Character) Yvonne.........................(Daisy - Co-star, Tim's flatmate) Ed.................................(Mike - Tim's best friend) Pete..............................(Duane - Guy who stole Tim's g/f) It was also directed by the same guy and was written by Simon Pegg (Shaun) and Jessica Stevenson (Yvonne)
  14. Anyone have any word as to whether they'll be hitting the States in their next tour? Also, they've got a new album in production which will feature the vocal talent of Christopher Lee once again!
  15. Just linked here from the old thread. This one still lacks ATHF!
  16. Mine's not there so I'll just go ahead and say Aqua Teen Hunger Force FTW! Can't wait for Neil to be in the ATHF movie, and who can forget the episode with Zakk Wylde and the fake Geddy performing "Spirit Journey Formation Anniversary"? QUOTE Deep within the womb of time, a creature thus be born The seed of life is united with the egg of tyranny Gestates forth from within the womb of life for three-quarter and nigh a year The creature thus be born! The creature thus be formed! And ye of years... [Your current age + bells] Will chime! When the heavens open up and drink from the silver cup The creature thus be born! And blow the magic horn! To alert the spirit deep within the cycle of life. The creature has begun it's journey deep forlorn, upon this day which he be formed In the sea of mucus the spirit rides down from the mountain and unites with the creature in the womb A holy union, dark mortality, until the dark mortality breaks the chain of life The creature thus be born And every year raineth down the celebratory tears A celebration of the years from mere mortal sky ^If that isn't homage to some of Rush's early lyrics I don't know what is! Not to mention the numerous Rush references that Meatwad makes throughout the episode. http://www.2112.net/powerwindows/references/AquaTeenHungerForceGeddysJet.gif
  17. Over the summer I was introduced to Rhapsody's "Symphony of Enchanted Lands II: The Dark Secret" and was immediately impressed. They're a symphonic power metal band from Italy. I was going through my collection and came across this gem and decided to listen to it and I was once again impressed at how powerful it was, especially with the great Christopher Lee providing narration. I love that guy. If you've never heard of them I suggest you go Here and check them out right now!

Arguably the best sitcom ever, it mixes british humor with geeky pop culture references. Discuss!
  19. Sucks to be him, but it's excellent to be us, because Ian McKellen personifies Gandalf like no other.
  20. Several songs on the Lord of the Rings Soundtrack and Frank Sinatra's "It Was a Very Good Year."
  21. QUOTE (Larks @ Nov 9 2006, 08:42 AM) QUOTE (Rush! @ Nov 9 2006, 04:32 AM) I'm about to listen to Images And Words again! Oh yeah dude!! i think i told you to listen to this album 38497239 times in live chat already This is like the holy bible of progressive metal, all the band members were at their prime and it even includes their first mini-epic song"Learning to live" ENJOY AND DREAM ON I consider Six Degrees (The song) to be their masterpiece. You can definitely see that the time at Berklee was not wasted.
  22. Just bought the score DVD and I've got a few things to say: 1. Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence live is like porn for the musically inclined. It was amazing. 2. After hearing him earlier in the tour and then hearing him on the DVD on their last show, I've got to say that Labrie never sounds as good live as he does in the studio whereas Geddy always sounds better live. 3. I've seen "virtuostic" pianists like Chick Corea live but after seeing this DVD it proved what I've long known: Jordan Rudess is the best alive. By the way, what's with the "fingerboard" and the stringed instrument beneath it that he uses during Octavarium? 4. I was very disappointed that they did not include the "Clockwork Orange" intro. I thought it was very creepy and cool and added to the show.
