  1. Yes, he did indeed leave after the Permanent Waves Super Deluxe. I've seen that in print and he has told me that himself. No hard feelings or anything. He just had other projects to which he wanted to devote his time. I do not believe he is credited on the Moving Pictures Super Deluxe and I didn't buy the concertless Signals Super Deluxe so I don't know about that one. I just know he told me he did not work on that one.
  2. Here ya go: https://bravewords.com/news/rush-producer-director-talks-about-upcoming-dvds Though, beware. Many in RUSH fandom hate the author of this article for whatever reason. Be that as it may, everything he has ever told me has absolutely come true. Hey, I don't like the author's politics but I do enjoy when he contributes info like this article. PS: Listening to the Geddy audiobook and just got through a chapter where he discusses when they started doing "proper" demos which was Power Windows. Those, most of us have heard on bootlegs and or YouTube (see below). PSS: I don't think the Tom Sawyer stuff they were discussing in that interview above were "demos" but more works in progress on tape.
  3. So, you're saying he quit and has since returned?
  4. Geddy & Alex may be moving forward but Anthem/OLE control the back catalog and want to squeeze every penny out of their investment.
  5. This one DOES have the Red Lenses/Drum Solo if we are to believe the 2005 interview that the Grace footage was found.
  6. In one of the Signals 40th Anniversary threads, you claimed that Andy Curran was still working for Anthem/OLE. This is not true and now you're stating "there is another" ala Return of the Jedi. Sorry, but this kinda makes me doubt anything you say. However, I will say to the Grace fans, someone has shared something secret with me and it does look like a GUP Super Deluxe is definitely happening. Will it include a Blu-Ray of the full GUP video concert with restored footage and a CD of the full show? That is unknown so far.
  7. Been patient since the 2005 interview that said all the GUP footage was found.
  8. Can you say if it's a real possibility or you don't know any info at all? Thanks!
  9. Any word on how we can listen to the two new songs tonight or tomorrow?
  10. Here's the quote about the two unreleased songs: "The former Rush bassist says he has a renewed songwriting spark that he credits to rediscovering two unfinished demo songs made in the late 1990s. “Gone" and "I Am... You Are" were originally written for his 2000 solo effort "My Favourite Headache," but they didn't end up on the album. Lee came across them while sifting through the archives for his upcoming memoir "My Effin' Life." He shined them up, added new elements to finish them off and said he plans to release both on Tuesday as part of the audiobook version of his memoir, out the same day. His representatives say a digital and streaming release will follow." Now does this mean a digital & streaming release for the two songs or the entire audio book?
  11. Unfortunately, I think they are going to ignore Grace & do some 50th Anniversary thing of the band. Hope I'm wrong.
  12. Here's the found footage interview from 2005: https://bravewords.com/news/rush-producer-director-talks-about-upcoming-dvds - I know Doug Maher is not well liked by many in Rush fandom but why does anyone think this interview is "faked?" - I do expect, if Geddy even responds to me, that his answer will be that Anthem/Ole has a team that handles that, Alex is usually consulted about those things, blah, blah, blah. I mean, here's a guy that said Ben Mink found his two unreleased songs as if he totally forgot they existed. Haha. So, I don't have much hope of getting a satisfying answer.
  13. Mine: Back in 2005, Peter Lamoureux stated: "We found the footage for the Grace Under Pressure Tour video concert. Down the road when Blue-Ray technology becomes more popular and we are able to extend things out to levels beyond where we are at currently...we can then go back and release the found footage that was not on the original release." Will this footage (on Blu-Ray) and an audio CD FINALLY be released for 2024's anticipated Grace Under Pressure 40th Anniversary Box Set? Since the release of the Grace Under Pressure Tour video cassette/laserdisc, I have dreamed of one day owning that entire show on video and audio. I want to be blown away seeing/watching the Red Lenses/Drum Solo, Between the Wheels and many other songs that had been cut. Will my dream be fulfilled? I understand Geddy is not a "look back" guy and he's always looking forward to the next project. I also know Anthem (Ole') controls these things these days BUT I would think this has been discussed with Geddy and Alex and I'd love if Geddy could shed some light on what he knows? I realize 2024 is the 50th Anniversary of the band and there may be all kinds of plans afoot but there's a lot of Post Terry Brown Era fans that have been salivating at the hope of a comprehensive Grace Under Pressure 40th Anniversary Box Set! Thank you for your time and good luck on the book tour! PS: I understand two unreleased songs from the My Favorite Headache sessions will be available this Tuesday. Will there be anywhere to download those in high quality FLAC format or are they only going to be available in lossy MP3 and or streaming?
  14. I don't stream. I'm a physical media guy that rips FLACS from CDs. I'm hoping FLAC quality tracks will be available but if not, where should I go to hear the new tunes and what time?
  15. The superiority of the Terry Brown Only Era fans never stops surprising me. To believe that most Rush fans only care about Signals and before or that most walked away after Signals just shows ones age. Heck! I'm 54 and my first new Rush purchase was Grace Under Pressure! That's where my journey began. I LOVED the "keyboard era" so many of you crotchety old fans hate. I also love the 90s and all the way through to the end, what I consider to be their finest album, Clockwork Angels. I've purchased the previous 40th Anniversary sets but my excitement level for them is nothing compared to the future releases of Grace Under Pressure, Power Windows, Hold Your Fire, Presto, Roll The Bones, Counterparts and Test For Echo! To get full concert audio from all those tours is my fan dream come true, especially Grace!
  16. What was promised 17 years ago and should be on the Grace Under Pressure 40th Anniversary release: https://bravewords.com/news/rush-producer-director-talks-about-upcoming-dvds
  17. You didn't ask him about a Signals Tour release for the 40th Anniversary! And, asking him if he's going to work on the Grace Under Pressure one would be fantastic as well!
  18. You're right, it's definitely different. But it doesn't sound like they made an adjustment to my ears. It sounds more like a totally different take. Now we know Rush swear they never kept alternate takes, and there are none listed in the track list for this album, so my guess is what we're hearing in the unboxing video is actually the live rendition included in the "Live In YYZ" full concert recording. The drums and guitar sound a little more live to me as well, though it's weird that the vocal is so pronounced in the mix, but then that may just be the mix of the unboxing video and not the song itself. In any case I find it very unlikely that they went back and doctored any of the studio recordings, especially without Neil in the room. It just wouldn't make sense seeing as 1. they haven't done that to any of the other albums since they've been doing these 40th anniversary releases, and 2. Moving Pictures is, note for note, perhaps the most perfect recording Rush ever made. I would not be surprised if the band themselves agreed with that sentiment. Ummm... It's the live version.
  19. Still no word on how to order this one for the RUSH Moving Pictures 40th Anniversary. What's confusing me: If I download to my PC, which is connected to my receiver, will it actually play in Dolby TrueHD 5.1? "Finally, the sixth configuration, the Dolby Atmos Digital Edition, is the digital equivalent of Richard Chycki’s masterful Atmos mix of all seven tracks from the original album."
