  1. jeff beck's most recent album, which is heavily dominated with slow, lush songs and epic string parts, makes me REALLY want him to write a film score.
  2. well, yes, but also New Born and Knights of Cydonia. but mostly Exogenesis.
  3. you'll probably get about 20x as many readers if you include uploads.
  4. QUOTE (Xanadu93 @ Dec 24 2010, 04:48 PM) "Citizen Erased" is the best song Muse have made, and probably will ever make. <3 this is false.
  5. ke$ha needs a shower. really bad.
  6. QUOTE (Xanadu93 @ Dec 24 2010, 12:35 AM) QUOTE (fledgehog @ Dec 23 2010, 11:27 PM)QUOTE (Xanadu93 @ Dec 23 2010, 11:44 PM) No Angels & Airwaves? No Dead Weather? Both groups put out great albums this year, IMO. Love scored a solid 4 stars, and Sea of Cowards 3.5. How do the first two AVA albums rank compared to LOVE? WDNtW got 3 stars, and I-Empire got 3.5. I haven't listened to either in a while though, so I'm not sure what i think now

  8. Agalloch, Band of Horses, Beach House, LCD Soundsystem, Owen Pallett, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Red Sparowes, Secret and Whisper, Sufjan Stevens, The Tallest Man on Earth, Tokyo Police Club my 4.5 star albums from 2010. all fairly recent, and fairly active artists. all amazing. and of course that's just scratching the surface.....
  9. like others have said...to keep up better with new releases. 2010 saw a real drop-off in that area for me, i barely heard over 100 albums from this year. i'd like to get back in the swing of new music.
  10. electronica/synthy music is great to just listen to and see all the layers that exist and how they all work together as one

  14. had been meaning to listen to listen to Liszt's piano sonata for quite some time now, and FINALLY got around to hearing it (Horowitz's 1987 recording) and all i can say is...WOW...to be able to, not only play, but just to WRITE, something that draws that much sound out of a piano, is simply stunning.
  15. from wikipedia: QUOTE "G6" is thought to be a reference to the Gulfstream G650 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gulfstream_G650
  16. QUOTE (ColdFireYYZ @ Nov 21 2010, 06:01 PM) After hearing a lot of good reviews, I finally got Octahedron by The Mars Volta. This is the first album of theirs that I've listened to and I was impressed. It dragged at times but overall I enjoyed it. My favorite tracks were Teflon and Cotopaxi. I'm going to get a few more of their albums when I have the time/money. Octahedron is VERY different from TMV's other albums, just fyi.

  20. QUOTE (jesse2112 @ Nov 26 2010, 06:48 PM) Anyone like Spock's Beard? I was at FYE the other day and bought "X" because I wanted something new and I was only vaguley familiar with their name mostly due to Neal Morse's association with TA. I listened to it maybe 10 times now its pretty good ill have to get more of their stuff get the older stuff, from back when neal morse was still with the band. id recommend starting with V, The Light, or Snow.
  21. is ke$ha really so out-of-tune that the spoken word sections of her vocals have to be auto-tuned?
  22. just finished up Duke. forgot how much i LOVE this album!!!
  23. QUOTE (J2112YYZ @ Nov 7 2010, 08:21 PM) Aslo, thanks to this show I will forever have a crush on Jenna Fischer
