Took a quick listen. Got a Smithereens vibe. Super cool. Will listen to all again on full later!
Thanks!...I'd never heard of them, but they sound good, and I get the comparison...will definitely check them out.

My favourite 5 albums remain unchanged -
1. A Farewell to Kings
2. Hemispheres
3. Moving Pictures
4. Permanent Waves
5. 2112
Yeah that's my five, almost in the same order. It's same list I've had for 40 years!
Same here, though slightly different order.

Never been much of a Beatles fan, so The Who wins easily for me......

Hey RushFanForever, does Dubois, in that book, by any chance explain what the hell the lyrics to "Battlescar" mean? Those lyrics are all over the place. "Found a Fist in an Empty Field." Gross. Always wondered what he did with it.
Geddy does a pretty good job at making his parts sound cool.
Page 216-17 of the book.
"It's just a very simple anti-American song," answers Pye asked about the lyric. “Uncle Sam's time is only to grease the wheel. I think that's self-explanatory. OK, forgive me—for me it's self-explanatory. Uncle Sam is the United States, and 'Uncle Sam's time is only a greased wheel...' I don't know how you used the term, a greased wheel, but you've heard people say grease the wheel? You grease the palm, yeah, grease the wheels of commerce—it's blatantly anti-American. And 'bust the busters, screw the feeders,' well, why bust me if I have dope? Let's go bust them. You know? You know, the people that feeds me this cultural crap, they're the ones that need to be fed. etc. I mean, don't be busting me!"
I don't think Wordsworth or Keats have anything to worry about.....

There's a reason why the songs that Dubious Dubois collaborated on have shit lyrics.
-
The Wildhearts - Sick of Drugs
Cheap Trick - Elo Kiddies
The Jam - Going Uderground
Mansun - Wide Open Space

I'm surprised to read that anyone listens to Coldplay. I was wondering how they sold any records, figured they were independently wealthy and bought all the copies of their releases just so they can see their names on the charts.
That would be DJ Khaled
Coldplay are actually very averse to egotism. People just like their music.
God knows why...a more colourless, bland collection of nonentities I have never seen....they are the very definition of beige.
And once again Chris Martin would probably agree with you! Lol. They’re a super easy target, it just so happens I’m an easy target for their music as well.
Whether he agrees with me or not doesn't make me hate his music any less..
True, I just think it's funny.
I suppose it's just their total inoffensiveness and anything approaching an "edge" that irritates me.
Imagine if they asked you to join the band Paul, as lead guitarist, you'd be in like Errol Flynn!
The filthy lucre would probably overcome my principles, yes.....mind you, I'm not sure they HAVE any lead guitar to speak of.
There's a guitar solo on this song by them:
about 2:14 mark. Very repetitive, but distorted at least.
Gawds that was awful...

Probably really killed by excess facial hair.....
F**in' hilarious.
You make a similarly glib remark when Neil died?
:eyeroll:
CAPTAIN!
We have a sense of humour failure in the for'ard bow!
Ah think she's gonna blow!
A tiresome yet accurately predictable response.
Don't give up the day job - comedy's definitely not your forté
Tbh, it's got nothing to do with 'humour' [however you measure that ethereal thing]
It's all to do with Respect.
Google it, you'd never know, you might be enlightened.
With "respect" (and I use that term advisedly), my comment was more about your lack of said humour rather than attempting a joke myself.
I am under no obligation to view the death of someone I hadn't even heard of before this with an attitude that you approve of, so take your po-faced pompousness and shove it where the sun doesn't shine, ok?
Have a great day :-)

I detest Coldplay......blandola of the highest order, the audio equivalent of being dipped in a vat of beige paint.
If you said that to Chris Martin's face he'd probably laugh and agree with you!
And believe me, I would......That's if I could resist punching his smug, greetin'-faced coupon first.
You sound toxic tbh
Lord save us from the literal minded.....

Music of the Spheres predates Rush a long time. Kepler and earlier Pythagoras.
No shit, Sherlock ;-)
