This happened to my father last year.....they caught it early, operated on it and now he's fine....hope things go the same way for you.
Best wishes.....

Black Album is the equal of MoP and RtL as the best Metallica album beginning to end. Filled with fantastic riffs and melodies. Top notch album that left the 80's metal boys in the rear view mirror
The wrong is strong in this post....

You`re completely right - it`s the only Metallica record I bought as a teenager and that`s a terrible indictment for any self-respecting thrash band. You crossed into "accessible" and "popular" :tsk:f**k that for a game of soldiers......The Black album marks the point when Metallica became for me corporate stadium rockers...undoubdedly there are some good moments on it, but I see them as a different and inferior band from this point......as for cover albums...meh meh meh....
I couldn't give a shit whether its accessible and popular or not.......I just don't like it as much as their earlier stuff

Great job Paul on the mixing. Ive not given it justice with listening to it in depth, but the mixing sounds better. The guitars sound wonderful. Only thing I would say is the cymbals sound too high up, and distract. Mixing overall is definitely an improvement. Nice one.
Cheers for that Steve
re the guitars, before we started this album I invested in Bias2 software from Positive Grid.....the tones are unbelievable

Can't say I've liked anything I've seen him in, but my memory may be hazy on this....

Underwhelmed to be honest, but hopefully this is a warm up for Big Al to get busy in the studio recording some properly constructed songs.
Jackass!
Triggered and reported....

Why is Nobodys hero still around?......truly execrable.
Mind you, the whole album is a steaming dogs egg, suppose Animate is mediocre.

David Bowie by a huge margin.....

Know almost nothing about Styx, but wanted to note that he looks like Tony Bennet in that photo.......
carry on...

I thought the obvious answer was porn, but what do I know?

That was really good, a lot better than I expected tbh...nice effort, there's nothing like playing live is there?

I think of Fridge as an honorary member of the band.
I must admit this raised an ironic chuckle......
Ok, cards on the table.
I think that at heart they were an extremely mediocre to bad band that happened to come along at exactly the right time.
However, they occasionally raised their game and wrote a handful of genuinely good, even great songs...I suppose that's a good enough legacy.

First impressions on my initial listening to the album -
- I think the musicianship and vocals are a step up from previous releases.
- The songwriting is stronger.
- The production is way better than previous releases.
All round a good result and definitely on an upward trajectory.
Appreciate the comments mate, means a lot...
I think we're all improving at our "craft" and it bodes well for the future.
I particularly appreciate the production comments as I've really been trying to up my game at this and it's good to here some positive confirmation of this

You've definitely stepped up your production skills, Fridge! Great work!
Thanks!...it's been a steep learning curve, but I'm getting there bit by bit....

There should be an entry for forum member Fridge of working for the Gallagher brothers in Oasis.
Great idea...I could instantly infiltrate past their security, choose my moment and waste the pair of them.

Don't think I've heard more than a couple of songs off it....
It's a heavy metal masterpiece!
Just could never really get into the Beatles.....
Not even Octopus's Garden?
Can't say I recognise it
ETA: annoying drivel with ridiculous oompah bass line....boring

Fridge you would've liked this.
Oasis planned to issue an unreleased archive collection featuring Beatles and George Harrison covers
Noel and Liam's feuding put an end to it… for now
Sounds like my idea of audio hell
What a pair of c***s....
