  1. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Dec 4 2008, 11:49 AM) sessions with an autism educational specialist was this though your school system or did you find them on your own? & Thank you - I'm finding from speaking with people one of the big hurdles is finding the right routes to take most specific to their childs needs.
  2. Seeing how some recent post have brought treatments into play, I am respectfully wondering what routes of treatments people have tried. Have you stuck with your General Medical Dr., Neurologist, Nero-Developmental Dr. Physiatrist, psychologist or other medical Dr? Or Have you taken the behavioral health route with cognitive therapies, behavioral therapists etc. I know that each child will see progress, obtain help with different Drs. I was just hoping to find out where you seem to find the progress/help or if you need several Dr./therapies to obtain progress/help.
  3. QUOTE (ILSnwdog @ Dec 2 2008, 01:46 PM) Saving Private Ryan. That beach landing was the most intense twenty minutes of any movie that I have ever seen. I agree! This was my first thought too before opening the thread.
  4. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Dec 1 2008, 02:23 PM)Very interesting - thanks for posting. That would certainly explain why kids like Stephen seem to have a hard time processing, and also why he does better with very short, clearly spoken words or instructions - not a lot of extra words. I once had a Dr. describe "processing" to the likes of a funnel or strainer - you can only put so much into it before it starts to clog, overflow and cause a mess.
  5. QUOTE (Necromancer @ Nov 29 2008, 09:24 AM)Great ending. I can't wait to see what that lady that Tara is messed up with is all about. ...and her connection to Sam?
  6. QUOTE (Marathonist @ Nov 28 2008, 12:06 PM)QUOTE (barney_rebel @ Nov 28 2008, 11:57 AM) Customers trample Walmart employee for Black Friday deals Pathetic... God, that's just sick. Greedy mobs. Why I buy online. None of the details are given, but it would seem that Wal-Mart failed to plan adequately for this. It's not as if it's their first Black Friday. I feel very sorry for that Employee and his family. As far as Walmart - knowing they were holding inventory and refusing to sell it until Black Friday seems Corporate brought this on themselves!

If you want to nitpick how 'bout on a street in Queens NY with no cars! As for the show - the ending was perfect. I'm happiest for Turtle and getting to shut down Drama's attitude. That was great!
  8. QUOTE (Analog Kelly @ Nov 24 2008, 05:33 PM)The finale rocked - I was freaking when Bill got toasted I was yelling at the TV- GET HIM IN THE GROUND - HURRY ! But what happened to Lafayette ? Do you think Bill got him or someone else ? I think it may have been someone else. I think it may have been a bit of payback that should have been for Jason and that wacked out chick!
  9. Tonight the Season Finale... In the season finale, Sookie finds a link to the string of killings in Bon Temps--and ends up in the murderer's vicious crosshairs. Tara decides to make the most of her second chance with Maryann; Jason finds a new calling after an anti-vampire zealot named Orry visits him in jail; Bill tempts fate during his latest attempt to save Sookie; Sam is perturbed by an encounter with an old acquaintance; Lafayette finds himself at the wrong place at the right time. I may start reading the book series before season 2 starts.
  10. QUOTE (nettiesaur @ Nov 3 2008, 10:22 PM)I didn't know where else to put this. I think only Moms could understand. Why does a kid pick the worst time to puke? One of my little guys(first grader)threw up his chocolate snack milk on our new carpet at 2:50 p.m. They leave at 3:00. Then he asked if he was going to the office. I said, um no, you're going home. I'll talk to your mom when she comes to get you(there was no point in calling her, she was on her way of course). So in the middle of getting 25 kids ready to go home, I have to cover the mess with paper towels and pray that no one else does a copy cat. Argh. Poor kid, I know, he can't help being sick, but I spent half an hour cleaning up and sanitizing when I should have been going home. I'm so sorry for that poor kid - and you for being stuck with the clean up. I agree - that is exactly when it happens! Just as your trying to run out the door, in the car or at some awful hour in the night.
  11. QUOTE (Fridge @ Oct 29 2008, 09:13 AM)I think the original British version is much better from what I've seen so far, but then a lot of that is probably to do with what is more familiar to me. I only learned today that it was from a BBC show, while looking for images. How long ago was that show aired? Is it still on?
  12. QUOTE (circumstantial tree @ Oct 29 2008, 09:13 AM)One of those guys, don't know who it is, has a very modern haircut. One thing though is that they should be spraying their hair in place. Either that or some kind of bril(?) cream. If it looks "moussed" or "gelled" it would look more like the 80's and later. The guy you might be speaking of may be the main lead and it would go along with the story line to have him some what modern - being thrust back to the 70's - only so much can change. I don't know if the pictures show it well enough but the lighting effects from the 2 time periods show up on the show. When it is present time it is a very chromatic light effect, while in the 70's it is a brownish - orange softer lighting. As long as the story stays this good I'll keep watching.
  13. QUOTE (circumstantial tree @ Oct 29 2008, 07:52 AM)Can't say I like retro shows. The fashions don't ever really match what was actually worn. I have to say this the property & wardrobe master(s) have done a good job on this one. For example last weeks episode had one of those hanging staue things that looked like oil beads were coming down around it. I remember so many of our neighbors had those in their homes. Does anyone else? The clothes are pretty much on the mark for the time period and the small items that make you remember the 70's. Michael Imperioli look is classic 70's. Take a look at the Image Gallery at the bottom of this page... http://www.cinemablend.com/television/TV-R...iere-12598.html
  14. I started watching this show from the start and so far I think it's good. The cast is great! Michael Imperioli in the 70's garb is excellent!
  15. Slushy - mushy - messy - snow/rain mix.

  18. QUOTE (udanax @ Oct 13 2008, 10:28 AM) QUOTE (Necromancer @ Sep 30 2008, 09:39 AM) QUOTE (owlswing @ Sep 30 2008, 10:34 AM) QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Sep 30 2008, 09:02 AM)I'm intrigued by the show - although I haven't gotten to watch a whole ep yet. My only pet peeve at this point would be the ACCENTS. Exaggerated Southern accents drive me nuts. I don't sound like that! Right? I noticed that with Bill - The vampire involved with Sooki - that at times he has an accent and at others he doesn't. You'd think that after being alive for centuries, he'd have lost it. In the Buffy and Angel series... Angel lost his thick accent, but Spike never lost his. So I guess it could be up to the discretion of each individual vampire. OR to whoever is writing the script. its probably because the guy who plays bill is from the uk..... so is the guy who plays jason...... well folkies...that was an interesting last episode.... i think it is safe to say that merlotte is some kind of werewolf.....or something......... I this the guy who plays Jason is from Australia not the UK. He was on another show I watch and didn't hid the accent. On another note - it's on soon. The show is getting better and better the preview for the upcoming weeks have me wanting to watch more.
  19. QUOTE (sundog @ Oct 25 2008, 06:45 PM)Check it out..... Notice the puck right in the air in front of his stick! He's watching it - Yes, he saved it. We wond the game 6 - 3. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v111/sundog918/PatchSI-1.jpg Woo-hoo!!!! What a great shot - or should I say save.
  20. 22. QUOTE (Cygnus The God Of Balance @ Oct 23 2008, 11:39 AM) Wow...where the hell have I been. My last visit was Sept 18?? I'm sorry. I've just been swamped at work. Anyway, glad to catch up with how Stephen is doing. I loved your story about the "Best of poo-poo watch" That's priceless. Tony's been good, but his mom's house had an outbreak of fleas which have feasted on poor little Tony. He's got bites all over him. He was at our house last night and I gave him baking soda bath to try to alleviate some of his itching. I also sprayed him with Demoplast. Unfortunately, he itches his bites until they bleed. We're going to sign Tony up for another 7 weeks of gymnastics. He really seems to like it and is getting better and better at it. He absolutely loves the trampoline and he and another Autistic boy get so excited about being on that, and they're both really good about taking turns with the rest of the class. Caldesene Powder may offer some relief for the itchy flea bites. Glad to hear he is enjoying the Gymnastics. Seems like you just signed him up that first 7 weeks went to quick.
  23. I just received an e-mail with this link. Research - the more we know, the more we might be able to understand. http://www.kintera.org/site/c.cdJGKONnFmG/...newsletter2.asp
  24. PTA - Your boys are so cute! Looks like you two found a great carving pumpkin too. That is if your youngest approved. GG - I love seeing the pictures of your boys! What a great picture of brotherly love. I too agree it looks like "S" knows he can lean on "K" and "K" just has that I'll always be here for you brother look. I think I'm going to cry with you!
