  1. The Professor is apparantly jealous of KISS' marketing machine.

Quite right. Furthermore, he had this to say: "I despise the cynical dishonesty.” :o

Says the man who wants to sell us a $700 leather jacket. Which some fans wrote today that they think looks really good as a keepsake and fashion statement. Others not so much.

  2. I dunno. Stuff like that doesn't age well.

I was gonna wear my 07 (SNA Tour) baseball jersey to the MSG show this past tour. Was kind of embarrased when I looked in the mirror. That's just me, but with that experience, I wouldn't even spend $200 on a Rush leather jacket that will be obsolete in 5 years.

    T-shirts are a different story.....

  3. Plenty of Rush fans all tatted up that worship the music like a religion. Neil really needs to have a good look at this board, and FB.

Not knocking it, to each his own. My point is that Pratt should take a good look at his own fanbase.. Who were all those nuts at the RRHOF pissing off Qunicy Jones and Oprah? The most devoted fanbase , second only to The Dead, that's who.

Rush may not have a lot of material product like KISS Kaskets and all that outrageous stuff, but the band IS a brand. Sure, more based on the music and the image the guys have.

But Rush fans are not all that different than the KISS guys in terms of devotion.

  4. As for what Marvel is doing with their world, I think it's great - even though I'm not a comic book guy per-se.

BUT: Just wait until Disney starts doing that stuff with the Star Wars properties. Fasten your seatbelts guys. I'm totally geeking out myself.

They're already ramping up... Tying the Clone Wars into the Rebels cartoons - which I'm sure will tie into Rogue One. And so on, and so on.... :)

  5. Bottril is the man we have to thank for the awesome VT Remix.

He turned The Brick into quite a great sounding record. Mandolin? I thought the only mandolin on that record was in the liner notes.... who knew Nocturne had a groove? Couldn't hear it with all that compression. 2 bass parts on a lot of those songs? Really? The songs work with fewer Geddys in the chorus too.

VTOI (Vapor Trails Original Intent). That was Bottril. As far as I'm concerened he can have any Rush related (re)mixing work - totally trust this guy.

  6. Wow. So you guys have board drama over here too.

I don't know the history of you all together, but I'll say this: This board is more like Counterparts than I initially realized. :) I feel right at home here.

    Carry on.

    Every forum has drama.

I know. I'm just poking everyone here. Trying to be funny.... Don't mind me..for now. Eventually I'll get to know you guys after a time, and start to stir the pot myself.

  7. Is the JJ Abrams Star Trek run a reboot? Obviously it's not a remake BUT the Nimoy Spock is in there independent from the young (whatever his name is) Spock. What would you call it? A sequel alternate universe with a decent actor playing a shit Khan? ;)

It's a reboot. But yet the old continuity exists. Leave it to JJ to give us another sideways shift. LOL.

  8. I guess there's no point in hoping that Garden Road will finally make it to an album . . . .

Don't worry. When the Cash Cow needs to be fed, we will see all kinds of stuff. Including Garden Road and Not Fade Away.

  9. A lot of it is in the delivery.

    For example.

Three blind mice. See how they run. Where the f**k are they goin?

Looks meh in text. But Dice's delivery was spot on.

    -----------

As I've gotten older i find that I like social humor more than dirty humor - and where they cross over is the best!!

Like, young me loved Dice, Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor. Today me.... George Carlin. Later Carlin with the political and social stuff.
