I just got a lovely email from my ex-husband (wasband), today was our anniversary. He got remarried and has a child but we still keep in touch and while I know I did the right thing it still makes me sad sometimes to think about the fact that it didn't work out.

You ought to be glad you found out and didn't get stuck with him.

 

However, I know how you feel. Every year when the anniversary date of my first marriage rolls around, I give a thought to my first husband. It is sad that it didn't work out, but...................................thank God it didn't. His second wife can have him with my compliments.

 

Mine was ok, things just didn't work out. I know it's for the best though.

Well I got my ticket for Clifton New Jersey . No rush con for me unless I either win the lottery or get a job . And I am looking and I do buy tickets so either is possible LOL .

 

Good luck with both! Maybe both will happen, then you can be one of those people that say, "I plan to keep working to keep myself busy, even though I won $300 million dollars . . . . " :)

As much as I'm rah-rah-rah-ing it, I'm not able to go either. In my case I'm starting a new job mid-october and don't feel it'd look very good if I already requested time off, and don't really feel justified in delaying start by three weeks. That probably wouldn't go over very well either. Ah well...we can hope it's not the last one. Those that can go though (and have never been) should, because it's really fun!

 

That's too bad, but a jobs a job.

I know I'm the one that started this thread but since I'm still out of work, I don't think I can really spend the money. Sigh.

You can do either...the days are offered a la carte, or one bulk fee that gets you into everything. They sell merchandise there plus if you want to bid on anything at the auction...that's about the only extra costs. Snacks are usually served (free) and there's an open bar that serves beer and sodas..

I hate to even ask, like, do you have any idea around how much, before I get too excited?

Jeeze, I don't even remember. There's the cost of travel and lodging (should you not be lucky enough to live in Toronto already) + the cost of the convention itself. Let me do a little research and ask a few questions. :)

I'm not sure, looks like they have some events to get fans together to mingle, which would be fun. Hopefully someone who has been to these can weigh in here .

Do you have a link to the info? I would like to think about it anyway. :) Mr. blues was surprisingly interested in the idea of going to Toronto to see the Key ceremony. I think he wanted to spy on my heroes :D :D. (I woke up with stomach flu on Friday and have only started feeling better tonight. Story of my life.)

I'm actually out of work too....but I really want to go! I wonder how much it will cost, I mean just the event. Airfare isn't too bad, relatively speaking.

Me Earl and the Dying Girl. Really good and very quirky.

The weird thing is I didn't see anyone else at the Black Sabbath show wearing a RUSH t shirt. And other than seeing one guy wearing a Mastodon t shirt I didn't see any signs of prog or prog metal. However, several people did comment on my RUSH t shirt and a few seemed to be big fans.

 

Lol, I was going to wear my Hemispheres shirt tomorrow night, in the hopes of catching a cute Rush boy's eye!

I want to see Black Sabbath but don't have a ticket yet.

 

My next show is next Saturday and that is the Jelly Jam(members of Dream Theater and King's X).

 

OK, wait, did you see them in New Hope?? I was in the very back row, by the merch table.

 

 

Yes, I was there in New Hope. I guess I was somewhere in the middle. I thought I already replied to this but I didn't see it. Anyway, great show. I take it you are seeing Sabbath in Camden. I'm not looking forward to the parking situation there. I only saw one concert there before(Yes and Styx about five years ago)and don't remember any weird parking situation where I had to walk twenty minutes and pay thirty dollars. Not looking forward to that but even so it's worth it. I have lawn seats so if you see a tall bald guy with glasses by himself in a blue folding chair(more than likely although maybe i"ll find some people to mingle with)wearing a Rush t shirt(or black t shirt)that will possibly be me.

 

Oh, no I'm going to PNC next week. I bought the VIP parking, so that I can avoid the walking forever situation. And since the tix are free, it was ok to spend the money. (I'm currently unemployed) Anyway, have fun tomorrow.
