  1. Post (with pics if possible) what you cooked for dinner on any day.... and if you want to go even further; post your recipe....... (and no take out/dining out/ delivery/ fast food here.... only post what YOU cook)

Tonight I made some Shrimp Fried Rice (with carrots, scrambled egg, and peas), Steamed Broccoli, and Egg Rolls (Tai Pea brand, very good)

I came up with this thread after I cleaned up, so no pics, but I will post pics in the future.

That's what it says. Post with pics if possible.

I never read the first post so this is a revelation to me.

I'm sure nobody will remember this but The Owl had a thread several years back (maybe in Random Samples) titled something like "Video Introductions" as a way for TRFers to get to know each other. I thought it was a good idea but nobody was really biting. Too shy? Too revealing?

I don't think too revealing, but I'd feel weird. I found some old post about putting up pictures, but it seemed like it went way off track (shocking I know) and nobody really did it, but I think you did, something about coconuts! :D

  2. Just saw Al Di Meola last week.

Todd Rundgren has a free show in LA this summer. I'll most likely go to that cause I saw him a couple months ago and he was great!

I have a ticket for Anderson Rabin Wakeman - ARW , for this fall. Can't wait to see ol Rick again!

I saw Todd at Brooklyn Bowl last month - SOOO good! He's nuts, but it was a great show!

  3. A buddy has an extra ticket for the P Gabriel / Sting show. I have my doubts. Think I should go?

I think you should go if you can.

I saw them a week ago in NYC - SO good, they were great separately and together and their back up musicians were so tight. Great show.

  4. I never ate breakfast when I was a little girl or in high school, and I eat breakfast almost three hours after I wake up now. Except for coffee.

Never wake up hungry either. Still often am not hungry three hours later.

I could never wait three hours after I woke up to eat!!

  5. Waitin' for the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago - ZZ Top

    La Grange - ZZ Top

    Mystery Train/Folsom Prison Blues - Elvis/Johnny Cash

Call Me the Breeze - Lynyrd Skynrd

Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynrd

Feel Like Makin' Love - Bad Company

    Shooting Star - Bad Company

    Tennessee Whiskey - Chris Stapleton

Country Roads Take Me Home - John Denver

Turn the Page - Bob Seger

I am not ashamed to say I am a HUGE John Denver fan (call me eclectic) - and you gave me the great idea to start pulling up his music to practice with, too.

  6. My dog died last night. He was a nearly 13 year old Golden Retriever and he had a good life, but man, I'm really gonna miss him. RIP Mojo.

Really sorry for your loss, Stormtron. My dog Mike is getting older; he's a mix of Catahoula and Plott hound. He'll be eleven in a couple of months. He has slowed down, but he's still in very good health, for now. I know I'll never have another dog like him. He is one of a kind, man.

Dogs dying is always so sad.

Catahoula and Plott, wow, those are two breeds that most people have never heard of.

(oh, sorry, no disrespect to those above who lost people family members, of course, even sadder and more awful.)

  7. I'm actually going to see Steely Dan/Steve Winwood next Sat at a shed in New York State.

I'm seeing them soon, too, at SPAC.

I hate the both of you.

    Steely Dan- FM

    Watermelon and :coffee:

    Ok, that's just weird, lol!

    Why?

It just seems like the coffee would totally ruin the taste of the watermelon!?

    First of all,

I am 56 yrs.old. Never liked eating a big breakfast my whole life. Second, coffee is priority when I wake up. After about an hour I eat some fruit. Any thing that is light and not too filling. That's when I eat some thing. I never wake up hungry. It's not like I am chomping down on food and coffee at the same time. It's a slow process.

Ah, I see. Well that's ok then! Well I'm about to have little Debbie zebra cakes and milk for breakfast, so who am I to judge??

It's all good. Out of five kids growing up. I was always the last one to leave the table. :D

What a coincidence! Out of 6 kids growing up, I was always the last one to leave the table. I was (and still am) a slow eater.

I'm an only child and while I don't remember I'm sure that my parents were not allowed to leave the table until I was done talking!! :D

  9. For me it wasn't a song but a boy, in 11th grade, he and his band did "working man" in the talent show, but at the time I didn't know who Rush was. We started hanging out and he told me and I bought ESL (cassette) and we would listen to it constantly driving around town. I think it was probably The Trees though that really drew me in.

  10. Laura, that's really wonderful. You were so close to Alex you could have leaned over and touched his leg. Were you given instructions not to touch them?

I think it's great that you remember so much. When I get excited, my mind goes blank and I have a hard time remembering anything afterward. And I know that if I ever had the chance you had, forget it.

Haha, no we weren't told not to, but I figured it would't be a good idea!!

What I do forget though, is what the actual answer to my question was, so I hope it's not edited out of the Sirius broadcast!!
