  1. Playing arcade games from high school in the arcade in Asbury Park and walking the boardwalk.

I'd give anything sometimes to walk the boardwalk again and take a whiff of that salt air and hear the ocean waves crashing on the shore. How I miss it!!

    Where are you again?

  2. Planned:

Kansas - 10/30 at Taft Theater, Cincinnati, OH

Roger Waters - 7/20 at Nationwide Arena, Columbus, OH

    Possible:

Dream Theater - 11/5 at Palace Theatre, Columbus, OH

Dark Star Jubilee - 2017 in Thornville, OH

Had a pretty good year so far. Kansas will be doing Leftoverture in full, so I am VERY excited for that. Roger Waters doing a summer tour is going to be expensive, so hoping to get good tix early. Hoping for another Dead + Co summer tour next year. Would love to get on the bus for three of those shows.

    Leftoverture in full?????? Omg

  3. We just booked Dream Theater (just me), Brand X, Marillion and Carl Palmer within 10 minutes on Saturday.

I've been on CD binges before, but this is uncharted territory. I'm not sure I want to add that up.

How was Carl Palmer? I shoulda gone by myself to that one.

  4. Yeah, he kept messaging me. "Nothing yet" ,"nothing yet." Glad it worked out and a free movie is cool!

That's pretty funny. My son wanted to be there but he was at school so we were messaging back and forth and I kept texting him at various intervals "Still waiting...." Still waiting...."

I suppose I could use the free pass for the encore showing, but I don't need to see it on the big screen again even for free. I wasn't blown away by it as a whole.

Really? I liked it so much, plus just for that little bit of time, I felt like they weren't "gone."

It had it's moments. I like Beyond The Lighted Stage better although this is really a different thing.

I guess I don't see them as being "gone" even if the band is done. Their legacy is undeniable.

Well yes, indeed. I guess I meant gone as in, we'll never see them tour again. But never gone from our memories! Or our stereos or iPods or turntables, lol.

I'm OK with never seeing them live again (if it turns out that way and it probably will) I sort of knew going in and I enjoyed the hell out of the two shows attended although they weren't really consistently at their best. (Truth be told, I thought they were much better for the Clockwork Angels tour although R40 had a few highlights (mostly in the first set and witnessing Losing It really put the exclamation point on it for me)).

So experiencing that live and watching about 75 percent of the tour through periscope and making those "sacrifices." made it very clear that it was time. During that time, Alex was the guy I was most worried about after seeing him play -- not even knowing what Neil suffered through. A lot of that was a bit painful to watch for me (especially through most of the the first two thirds of the tour) although they seemed to be enjoying themselves up there..

I actually made peace with never seeing them again after the Clockworks Angels tour because I couldn't see them topping it and I don't think they ever did overall.

But I guess we all have different expectations....

I haven't really made peace yet because even though I've been a fan for 30 years, I only ever saw them a few times and now I wish I had seen them so many more. Ah well. As we said, the music will live on.
