  1. November...ummmm 1982? 83? Signals tour...my first show. Took the bus from the Dorms to the local minor league hockey stadium...how uncool is that? Rory Gallegher opened.I was gonna walk/hitchhike home after the show, but luckily ran into a bunch of dorm buddies and got a ride. Floor was all standing room, so depending on how sharp your elbows were you could easily get within 20 feet of the stage, which I did.
  2. hmm which red-headed stepchild do I like the most?

need some love is a throw-away tune from when they started. by the time ATWAS rolled around it doesn't see the light of day.

i like the solo in faithless so there's my pick.

  3. I think guitar and bass players should all be encouraged to bring their instruments to concerts and at a precise moment everybody start playing closer to the heart (acoustically of course) - now what would that sound like??

I plan on bringing my air triangle to rock out at the show.

I've nailed the beginning of YYZ.

  4. Al tends to exaggerate sometimes, so I wouldn't read too much into his quotes.

But you know what? All of the comments he's made in the last couple of years have come true. People just chose to be skeptical.

he's been quite off the mark when talking about set lists pre-tour, so I take what Al says with a grain of salt. Of all the 3, he tends to be the 'loose cannon'.

Just talked to Alex and for those skeptics he told me,

    'Blah, Blah....Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah...Blah, Blah...Blah Blah'.

the rrhof speech is the purest definition of loose cannon. ;)

  5. From what was revealed on previous tours, the rehearsal process is the weeding out of songs that aren't working or aren't lighting their fire. they probably go into it with 4 or 5 hours worth of possible material and weed it out from there. I think Jacob's Ladder was cut during the rehearsals on a previous tour because it wasn't working. As complicated as some of their material is, going back to something you haven't played in years can a challenge to get tight.

Outside of the set list process, the rest of the process really doesn't interest me. They hire professionals and it justs get done, probably without much drama.
