  1. Here's one I can't find a name for tour. Yes I know, very unusual setlist, opening with By-Tor, no Spirit of Radio, YYZ, 2112, La Villa, Working Man, Far Cry, alot of songs not played often/in forever and alot of songs never done... This is almost an ideal setlist for me. Oh and no instrumentals? WHAT? Orange highlight means it hasn't been played in atleast 10 years, red means never played live. Set One: 1. By-Tor and the Snow Dog (no hymn) 2. Clockwork Angels 3. Turn The Page 4. Vapor Trail 5. Roll The Bones 6. Cut to the Chase 7. Driven 8. Subdivisions 9. The Enemy Within 10. The Weapon 11. Witch Hunt 12. Freeze 13. Bastille Day 14. Headlong Flight Set Two: 15. Tom Sawyer 16. Ghost Rider 17. Passage to Bangkok 18. In The Mood 19. Chain Lightning 20. Wish Them Well 21. Drum Solo 22. Alex Solo / The Trees 23. Xanadu 24. Good News First 25. Jacob's Ladder 26. Marathon Encore: 27. Everyday Glory 28. Limelight
  2. I'm getting excited by watching all of my Rush DVD's! Wait, I do that every day...
  3. Now thats more like my kind of concert. All of FEAR, jacobs ladder, bangkok, vaportrail, clockwork angels and headlong, chain, xanadu, open secret, cut... thats almost perfect for me. Yeah that basically has everything I would want to hear live now and I loved their R30 Instrumedley so why not 3 of them. and one of them has epics in it? Count me in! But you had almost everything that i would die to hear live in there. And it still only 26 songs as they've been touring with lately. Yeah I honestly get tired of hearing stuff like Tom Sawyer and Spirit of Radio and such EVERY concert... Its nice to hear like 10 seconds of the melody and then I'm like alright I've heard this 100,000,000 times. It's nice to hear a little bit of songs like those, move on to another, and keep going and then actually get some more overlooked pieces in the concert. The only song that they always do that I wouldn't mind hearing would have to be Limelight, cause its just that good of a song. And I of course am fine with subdivisions, red barchetta, yyz, and some of the other classics, but id rather hear something like all of xanadu and jacob's ladder rather than hear 10 minutes of tom sawyer and spirit of radio when ive heard both too many times to count. I still absolutely love those songs though, but I'd rather hear something that they have never done or haven't done in ages. I think everyone want to hear Jacob's Ladder! Whoever says no to Jacob's Ladder should jump off a cliff. That is one of their best songs which they havent played in over 30 years. Can I at least wear a parachute? No! James Bond it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4G4zT2X8MT0 I honestly thought I was the only Bond fan who liked Moonraker.... There you go, learn something everyday I guess Well I thought I was the only person in my city who knew who Rush was... One day my dad came home from substitute teaching at another school and said he met someone my age who listened to them. Rush fans are hard to find which is fine with me. I wear my Rush gear around all the time and most of the time it's like you are invisible. I must say there are more now than in the 70's when I got started. :codger: Yeah I am glad they aren't as popular as some modern day immature groups are, but still I'd like to be able to meet someone my age who listened to Rush. Me too. As a 15-year old kid who loves Alter Bridge, Black Sabbath, Dio, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Metallica, Queen, Rush and Van Halen, it can be BLOODY HARD to feel accepted on the music side. Especially with 360/Parkway Drive boys and Beiber/One Direction girls surrounding me Don't give it much mind. again just hang out with other musicians. The public will come around and go again. They are fickle, Just turn around and walk away, be glad you are not one of them. Just Wish them Well! See I know for a fact in our school's Band, I am the only person in the class who listens to Rush, and I've always had some kind of 2112 joke in all of my presentations/project that I have done for school and NOONE has ever noticed.. Trust me, if you were in my shoes, it is pretty lonely and sad considering you are the only person who even listens to KISS or Black Sabbath, or even Nirvana. It is truly sad. "If our future (of music) is looking dark, we're the ones who have to shine." Don't let it get you down. When I was 16 and a big Rush fan back in 1976 it was much the same. It's almost a badge of honor in a way. When I look back on it I think to myself "I know something they don't". It's almost like having the key to happiness or eternal life to yourself and nobody else wants it! You try to share the knowledge, but no one will listen. Once their words and music are in your heart, they will never leave. In the best or worst of times, they will be there to put a smile on your face or a chill to your skin. Other bands and genre's will come and go but they will remain a constant. To quote a great line from a favorite movie of mine........ "I got that going for me, which is nice" Nah I am not down on it, it is just sad that noone knows who even Nirvana or KISS or Black Sabbath is... Just wow... People know who the Beatles are, but have no clue what any of their songs even sound like. Noone knows who the Stones are, it just makes me frustrated that noone has good taste in music nowadays... It makes me wonder what will music be like when I get older? Will there still be a band like Rush? Yes its called Dream Theater and yeah, no one knows them either. I'm not sure how to say this, but Rush just has a "cleaner" sound to them" Not quite sure how to phrase it.

  12. Thanks losingit for some of these ideas! 13. Now thats more like my kind of concert. All of FEAR, jacobs ladder, bangkok, vaportrail, clockwork angels and headlong, chain, xanadu, open secret, cut... thats almost perfect for me.
  14. Don't forget Everyday Glory. It is such a beautiful song.
  15. The Staged Performance Tour Set One: 1.) Spirit of Radio 2.) Distant Early Warning 3.) Nobody's Hero 4.) Roll The Bones 5.) Freewill 6.) Red Barchetta 7.) The Trees 8.) Earthshine 9.) The Anarchist 10.) Vapor Trail 11.) Cut To The Chase 12.) Caravan 13.) Turn The Page 14.) Subdivisions 15.) Far Cry Set Two: 16.) Tom Sawyer 17.) Clockwork Angels 18.) Leave That Thing Alone 19.) YYZ / Drum Solo 20.) Alex Solo / The Garden 21.) 2112: Overture / Temples of Syrinx / Grand Finale 22.) Jacob's Ladder 23.) By-Tor and the Snow Dog 24.) Natural Science 25.) Xanadu Encore: 26.) 16. Wait, I came up with something even better. The farewell tour. The Dogs Say Goodnight Setone: 1.) Dog Years Settwo: 2.) Dog Years 3.) Dog Solo 4.) Dog Solo/Dog Years Encore: 5.) Dog Years
  17. I honestly thought Rivendell would be an excellent song for them to play! Especially if it were to be opened by an Alex solo!
  18. The 40 lessons of 2116 (In 2016, 40th anniversary of 2112) Set One: 1.) Spirit of Radio 2.) Turn The Page 3.) Fly By Night 4.) Alien Shore 5.) Red Barchetta 6.) The Enemy Within 7.) The Weapon 8.) Witch Hunt 9.) Freeze 10.) Clockwork Angels 11.) Natural Science 12.) Manhattan Project 13.) Nocturne 14.) Xanadu (full) Set Two: 15.) 2112 (full) 16.) Passage to Bangkok 17.) The Twilight Zone 18.) Lessons 19.) Tears 20.) Something for Nothing 21.) Headlong Flight 22.) Drum Solo 23.) Alex Solo / Rivendell 24.) Jacob's Ladder 25.) Limelight Encore: 26.) Tom Sawyer 27.) Everyday Glory 28.) Marathon
  19. Lot of Good songs there but you need to transfer about 3 songs to the first set. Even with 2112 in its entirety its still too short. I would present it like this mosty for flow: The Time Warp Tour Set One: Tom Sawyer BU2B The Enemy Within (last played 1984) Nobody's Hero (last played 1995) Vapor Trail (never played live) Nocturne (never played live) Show Don't Tell (Last played 1994) Cold Fire (last played 1995) The Anarchist 2112 (entire) Set Two: Spirit of Radio Freewill Jacob's Ladder (last played 1980) Entre Nous Different Strings (With Extended Guitar solo at the end of the song, never played live) Natural Science Subdivisions Emotion Detector (never played live) Open Secrets (never played live) Everyday Glory (never played live) YYZ / Neil's Drum solo Alex's solo / Main Monkey Business Xanadu (entire, last played 2004) Encore: One Little Victory Fly By Night (last played 1975) Limelight :codger: Fly By Night was played live in 1978 Nobody's Hero was last played in 1997 I'm all for seeing them play Fly By Night. Everyday Glory would be awesome! I love that song! And I totally agree with bringing back Cold Fire. I am very surprized so many fans want to see them play Permanent Waves in its entirety. We already know we're gonna get Spirit of Radio and possibly Freewill. Natural Science had already been revived on a couple somewhat recent tours and included on a couple live albums. Entre Nous was brought back for the Snakes and Arrows tour and it really didn't sound that great. Jaccob's Ladder was almost brought back for this last tour so more than likely it will be played on the next tour. I could think of alot of other songs I'd rather see them play than Different Strings although I do love that song. But if I'm looking for Rush to do something in its entirety, my vote would go towards side 2 of 2112. Realistically though, with the remix of Vapor Trails, my guess is we will get some songs from that album they haven't played before. More than likely we will get a few songs from Clockwork Angels but I'm struggling trying to figure out which ones. There are so many great songs from that album. The Garden? The Wreckers? Will it be Caravan again? Which songs from that album will only be meant for the Clockwork Angels tour and left to rest for that tour only? Probably 7 Cities of Gold and Wish Them Well. Also, will Rush pay tribute to the 25th anniversery of Presto during this next tour? I loved that they played the song Presto recently and personally I would enjoy seeing them play that song again but I also would rather see them play songs I haven't seen them play before. LOL I think Rush spoils us! I am actually working on a setlist where they play all of 2112! And I was trying to make educated guesses on when the songs were last played, which I have fixed.
  20. That's awesome but to many songs. They can't play that amount of songs any more. I know they are fantasy sets but you need to keep them to about 26 songs at the most 27. 10 in the first set, 13-14 in the second and 3 in the encore. Have fun! Love the encore by the way! :codger: Yeah these were just made while I was on my laptop, just got back on my actually PC and getting ready to edit them a bit. Its incredible how many good songs these guys have! So true! There is no Rush song that I just flat out hate.
  21. There! Finally got some time to fix them up and balance them a bit more, much easier when you're laptop's battery isn't at 10%!

  23. It has been played and is on the Different Stages live album. Oh my bad! Will fix that.
  24. Yet another one! Planet of the Instruments Tour Set One: Instrumedley one: Working Man/Fly By Night/Fountain of Lamneth/Lessons/Farewell to Kings/Circumstances/Freewill 1) Tom Sawyer 2) The Anarchist 3) Where's My Thing? 4) Vapor Trail 5) Manhattan Project 6) Workin' Them Angels 7) Leave that Thing Alone 8) Main Monkey Business 9) The Body Electric 10) One Little Victory 11) Turn The Page 12) YYZ 13) Subdivisions Instrumedley two: LimeLight/Chemistry/Afterimage/Big Money/Time Stand Still/Superconductor 14) Dreamline 15) Limbo 16) Cut to The Chase 17) Headlong Flight 18) 2112: Overture/Temples of Syrinx 19) Malignant Narcissism / Drum Solo 20) Hope 21) La Villa Strangiato 22) Natural Science 23) Vital Signs 24) Spirit of Radio Encore: 25) Jacob's Ladder 26) A Passage to Bangkok 27) The Garden
