  1. Why? That's a great setlist. Probably the fact that there are a few big ones not included in it, which I myself don't care about but ya know. Some people really like hearing the same songs every tour.
  2. Alright time to make some people cry. Limelight Scars Open secrets Xanadu Nocturne Test for Echo The Trees Jacob's Ladder Digital Man Between the Wheels Something for Nothing Spirit of Radio The Anarchist Carnies Malignant Narcissism Cygnus X-1 (both books) Natural Science Dreamline Headlong Flight Emotion Detector Cut to the Chase In The End Everyday Glory Subdivisions Countdown Please don't kill me
  3. I picked Mal Nar to be different. I still love La Villa and YYZ but I want for them to mix it up a bit.
  4. Second, need to translate it to English.
  5. Rush are nerdy! In the coolest way possible. That's what I was told when I came here. They are nerdy and Rush fans are geeks. But I fail to see either one. I haven't found any nerds or geeks here. It all depends on your definition of nerd and geek. I see it as: Nerd = very smart person who people underestimate Geek = a person with an obsession of things that require a higher order of thinking.
  6. I am with you. I don't have a clue. Some of the synth sound is good. He could be a great synth player or a lousy one and I wouldn't know the difference.... Me too. In fact, the longer I am here, the more embarrassed I am getting because I know so little. Is the synth the same as the keyboards? I think it is. Probably. Not sure.
  7. Rush: Working man, in the mood, finding my way. Fly by night: By-tor, in the end, anthem. Caress of steel: Bastille day, lakeside park, the Necromancer. 2112: 2112 (duh), something for nothing, passage to bangkok. Farewell to kings: Xanadu, Cygnus X-1, A farewell to kings. Hemispheres: .........Hemispheres, The Trees, Circumstances (La Villa I still love you). Permanent Waves: Spirit of Radio, natural science, Jacob's ladder. Moving Pictures: Limelight, Vital Signs, YYZ. Signals: Countdown, Digital Man, The Analog Kid. Grace under Pressure: Between the Wheels, Red Sector A, Distant Early Warning. Power Windows: Marathon, Big Money, Emotion Detector. Hold your fire: Open Secrets, Force Ten, Turn the Page. Presto: Show don't Tell, scars, The Pass. Roll the Bones: Dreamline, Wheres my thing?, roll the bones. Counterparts: Cut to the Chase, Everyday Glory, Animate. Test for Echo: Test for echo, Driven, Limbo. Vapor Trails: Nocturne, peaceable kingdom, Freeze. Snakes and arrows: Spindrift, Mal Nar, Far cry. Clockwork Angels: Carnies, Headlong flight, The Anarchist (next is The Garden/Caravan)
  8. I'm stuck with half of the other people here. Xanadu, The trees, and either between the wheels or red sector a. Subdivisions and Countdown also have great keyboard work too. The HYF synth is so so, some good some not so much. Power Windows had decent keyboard. My favorite albums for keyboard are signals and grace under pressure though.
  9. It is ironic. I used to hate majority of the 80's content when I started listening to them, and thought the two worst albums were HYF and Presto, but now I love that stuff. The thing is the keyboard stuff is hard to adapt to. But, HYF and GUP had some killer guitar parts on them. So did signals, but the guitar wasn't dominant enough of a sound. Which of course digital man and analog kid make up for it in a way, but still. Regardless, I still love Countdown and Losing It which are both very heavy with synth. GUP, I like the first side, and between the wheels. Other than that, it is meh. Okay, I guess. PoW had some good guitar on it, from Marathon, but the rest is keyboard everywhere. Don't get me wrong, I like pretty much all of the album, just needed more guitar as usual. This doesn't mean I forgot how much they needed bass over keyboard.
  10. I agree with the facts of Xanadu and La Villa being two of the best also, both are just so good and there is of course the fact of Xanadu being such a nerdy song!
  11. Which epic by the group do you consider to be the most intelligently written? I am not asking for your favorite, but which one you think was put the most thought in to. Mine would be Hemispheres. And yes, I intentionally separated books one and two of Cygnus X-1 and am counting them as two separate songs.
  12. Cut to the chase and animate are the most likely to be played, and maybe cold fire or everyday glory. I'd go for the album in its entirety, it is one of my favorite albums, and it seems that I am not the only one who isn't a fan of speed of love. Not a bad song, just rather weak.
  13. As someone who has gotten decent tickets the "honest" way (meaning, I bought VIP tix and got lucky) I think anyone that crashes the stage needs to die in a fire. This happened a couple of times during the CA tour—I paid a whole lot of money for a decent ticket only to find people without tickets (in one case, a guy that was about 6'6") standing in front of me, blocking the view. Seriously, don't do that. All you're doing is screwing over the other fans. I also had a guy on my CA concert I went to that was doing the same. He wasn't cheering or anything, he just stood blocking the view, until he went to some table after the first set to get a bunch of beer and talk... that really sucked cause I loved half of the songs they did in the first set.
  14. Cut to the chase chain lightning Alien shore Open secrets Freeze (fear) Peaceable kingdom Fountain of Lamneth In no particular order.
  15. In the mood In the end / anthem Bastille day / lakeside park 2112 (maybe entire) Xanadu + Cygnus X-1 Cygnus X-1 + The trees Jacob's ladder (how would've known ) Vital signs / red Barchetta Countdown Between the wheels / distant early warning Marathon / mystic rhythms Open secrets Show don't tell Roll the bones Animate + cut to the chase + alien shore/everyday glory (too many good songs on counterparts!) Test for echo + driven (limbo also good) Peaceable kingdom/freeze/nocturne Spindrift/bravest face And for clockwork angels it is hard to just pick one song so Anarchist, Carnies, headlong flight
  16. Dreamline Ghost rider YYZ The enemy within the weapon Witch hunt Freeze The trees Lakeside park Jacob's ladder Limelight Alien shore Limbo Cygnus X-1: the voyage Cygnus X-1: Hemispheres Spirit of radio Show don't tell Manhattan dreams Open secrets Malignant Narcissism/Headlong Flight Igneus Tympanis (drum solo) Hope By-tor and the snow dog 2112: overture Xanadu Working Man Tom Sawyer Caravan In The End
  17. I am officially right now starting on the novel, wish me luck guys. Scratch that, I am not writing it yet, at the moment I am doing as much research and memorization as I can on the background information of the songs, listening to them over and over to get a feel of dramatic effect that the music brings to the listener. Reading about the black hole, Cygnus X-1, Cygnus the consolation, black holes in general, and even some greek mythology. I may start writing today, but possibly not.
  18. Possible error. I generally don't check where I am on the forum when I post. Who knows, maybe here it is out of reach of the "peanut gallery."
  19. Maybe the story that exists now could just be the origins of Cygnus. After that, it could be a series of graphic novels with him as an intergalactic superhero. Sounds like something you could write Ms Light..... :) I'd have to get permission to use the story, though. Also, someone out there has to know how to draw a really kickass Cygnus. How can you draw something that has "no shape or form" ? A mist or light

I thought you had multiple skills? Artwork not your thing huh?.... :) I will do a short story based around it. By short, it could range from 100 - 250 pages. And be aware I am not William Faulkner nor am I even an adult, so it will not be something worth hanging in a museum, but I can write pretty well, so how much I am pleased by the first bit will adjust how much progress, lemgth, and detail is put into it.
  21. I have planned to write it over the summer, I have to finish up school and then I will be free to do whatever.
