  2. QUOTE (tangy @ Sep 10 2008, 02:00 PM) QUOTE (tHobbs @ Sep 9 2008, 05:27 PM) Maybe Portugal. The Man in October and Pelican in November Cool. I would see Pelican if they come to Asheville. I see they are playing in Raleigh. If you like Pelican, you might want to catch the Buckethead show in Raleigh in october. I thnk its the 15th. Outside chance I may attend that show my next show is the mars volta on the 23rd. I saw Pelican at the Masquerade here awhile back... sounded like if I just jumped on a bass and threw sticks at a drum set for half an hour. They're a pretty cool band... just wish the sound could've been better live. Anyways... Minus the Bear Nov. 1st at the Variety Playhouse, and then Broken Social Scene Nov. 19th at the same place.
  3. Still rocking Soul Calibur IV...

  7. Yeahhhhhh! So I'm thinking I should probably buy tickets for a midnight showing of TDK online now? Or am I overestimating how many people will be showing?
  8. ^ ^ ^ Wow. Anyways, watched Lords of Dogtown last night... 9/10, great film.
  9. Stfu JB, Wild Wild West was awesome
  10. I read Odd Thomas and one other one awhile back, thought they were ok.
  11. I saw a preview for it a few weeks ago, thought the premise was hilarious, but most of the jokes weren't.
  12. Parasite Eve on the PSX, and still whooping ass a few times a week on Call of Duty 4 Live.
  13. Watch Donnie Darko and Jarhead, find out for yourself. And wow... I just found out he's slated to be Dastan in the Prince of Persia movie. Another wow, somebody's making a Prince of Persia movie?
  14. I just got the director's cut edition of the first one a few days ago, about to watch it tonight. I'll view the trailer after that.
  15. Sounds good. I guess this means I need to become "almost a Jill sandwich!" once again Oh, and I'm playing Okami on the Wii. One of the best Zelda games I've ever played.
  16. Right now I'm reading Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. I just bought The Castle (Kafka), Don Quixote (Cervantes), Comet (Sagan), Brave New World (Huxley), and House of Leaves (Danielewski). I also have Gravity's Rainbow (Pynchon) and Only Revolutions (Danielewski) checked out from the library. What the hell should I read first?
  17. No Country For Old Men Hellboy (Directors cut three disc edition) Clerks Clerks II The Godfather Kids Lords of Dogtown Army of Darkness The Fifth Element The Departed Thank You For Smoking Predator A History of Violence Snakes on a Plane All for about $50. Yeahhhhh
  18. QUOTE (madra sneachta @ May 19 2008, 03:36 AM) Memento and Angel Heart are my two suggestions. I'm down with Memento. Joe Pantoliano is awesome.
  19. Eight rule of movie club is if it's your first night, you HAVE to watch. But really... I'd be down for this. Granted I'm sure I couldn't participate each time, but it's a good idea and I'm sure I'd join in from time to time.
  20. ^^^ Thanks for reminding me to get that book! The movie's kicked my ass about three times now.
  21. QUOTE (Storm Shadow @ May 13 2008, 11:31 AM) QUOTE (*Limelight* @ May 13 2008, 08:36 AM) QUOTE (Mustard Death @ May 12 2008, 12:16 PM) ^ ^ ^ Bahaha... my little brother plays that. So much. Whatever you do, don't start paying them. And... I just cleared the first dungeon in Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. My faith in the DS is renewed. Just wait til later in that game. It gets really annoying. Yes, it does. Very annoying. It still has some of the best puzzles in a Zelda game, but yeah... Yeah, the whole "jot it down on your map!" thing is starting to get a little gimmicky. But I'm still digging the controls and impressive graphics job. And the side quests are fun stuff. Obviously not up to the epic standard set by most Zelda titles, but a fun game and good enough to make me enjoy my DS again. Does anybody know how the Resident Evil DS remake was? I heard they left in the f***ing great voice acting from the original.
  22. QUOTE (Kudzu @ May 3 2008, 02:29 AM) Wow, some of those mini-reviews were pretty dickish. Been meaning to pick up The Stranger, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Gravity's Rainbow, and The Catcher in the Rye, actually. Catcher's pretty good, Fear and Loathing is awesome, and I'm about to start Gravity's Rainbow. 800 pages and small text, dear god... I'm going to have to be pretty into this one to finish.
  23. Oh, and I'm reading Lullaby by Palahniuk and Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenace. It's cool so far, but Pirsig seems awfully self-centered.
