  3. ahh good call...it's documented here as a pyramid... http://rush.wikia.com/ wiki/Alex_Lifeson_equipment Looks like a smaller version of a LP
  4. It might be different if Rutsey was playing on the first 3 or 4 albums. Let's face it...the drumming on the first album was garage band basic. Can anyone in their right mind say that he played a major contribution in what Rush became? Didn't think so. It's not like anyone is trying to piss on his grave, but this is not a issue worth arguing over. What about Jeff Jones, the bassist before Geddy? Or the guy that Alex jammed with in 8th grade? This is like my girlfriend 40 years ago not inviting me to her wedding. Old news...big effin deal...get over it.
  5. How do you know that? Information about him was pretty scarce post-1974. Almost nothing is known about what happened with him other than Alex knew him for a few more years and he was into bodybuilding professionally at some point. No one has even seen a picture of him post-1974, much less heard an interview or anything about his feelings about Rush after the fact... It's well documented that he left the band for health reasons and the fact that he didn't want to pursue a career in music...he was in it more for fun than a serious career. He stopped playing shortly after leaving and got into bodybuilding, as you mentioned. It sure doesn't sound like he was practicing for hours on end in his basement hoping for another shot. Even if he didn't leave because of health reasons, their musical direction was changing after the first album. I believe Geddy said that John was more into basic 'bad company' blues rock and Ged and Al wanted to move into the 'Yes' proggy direction. The break-up was bound to happen sooner or later. If one of the 9 year olds that I coached in Little League years ago doesn't give me credit when being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, I won't get bent out of shape about it.
  6. I thought that as well. Looks like a LP, but slightly different...maybe a custom axe?? Ok guys...new question....what axe is that?
  7. 1. Not being inducted is not costing Rutsey any money 2. Rutsey is dead so he doesn't care. 3. When Rutsey was alive, he was totally over not being in Rush. 4. The RRHOF is a fluff-piece for the fans...the guys really don't care about it. 5. Has Rutsey been acknowledged on any tour or album since leaving Rush? I can't think of any. 6. Rush would have never made it with Rutsey as drummer. 7. No one will care or even think about this after a few days. I think that about covers it. Bring on the next manufactured drama.
  8. Alex has enough 'gizmos' to pull off the sound of the double neck even on his LP. If they do ever play Xanadu, don't be such a 'purist' and whine when it's not played on the double neck.
  9. I had this thought today...what if Chris Cornell (one of my fav singers and one of the presentors) sang lead with Rush on 2112 (Temples) at the RRHOF ceremony? I think he could still belt it out better than Geddy right now.
  10. There was 0 request for Twilight Zone before Alex mentioned it...becaaaaause it's a really mediocre song (by Rush standards). You guys are just jumping on the imaginary bandwagon.
  11. Any Rush fan that's been around long enough know that they go through changes based on their interests. They'll never get to the point of playing 'greatest hits' B.S. like other bands that are stuck in a 'formula' rut. VH and Aerosmith fell into the 'power ballad' rut and they haven't done anything interesting in the last 15-20 years. If you want to be a dinosaur and put your musical tastes in a time capsule that's up to you...I think you can catch a Ted Nugent or Styx show at your local county fair. I prefer to hear the guys playing something different. My dad always thought that any music after Frank Sinatra was crap...I think you're falling into the same trap. It's called getting old and close minded. :codger:
  12. This appears to be from their mascara and kimono years. I had a poster in college with Al & Ged obviously wearing makeup. Their stage outfits in these pics look real similar to that poster. Regardless of the bad wardrobe/makeup decision, they still rocked it! Great pics!
  13. Obviously, Geddy knows his baseball. I think it would be cool to have Geddy be a guest 'color' announcer for a televised Blue Jays game. I would think he'd get a kick out of it as well. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the tour schedule would allow for that this year.
