Not gonna lie.  i love the business.  Still watch it today.  My fav guy is Walter/gunthar.  such a classic throwback heel in the BEST way.

Cool! In 86 I married and moved to South Florida, when it started up again, by way of ESPN showing AWA, and a whole new gang:  Nick Bockwinkel, Verne & Greg Gagne, The Midnight Rockers, Larry Zybysko, and this huge, hairy, bearded crazy man named King Kong Bruiser Brody.  By the time the AWA died, something really nuts began in 1994 when a rogue element of the NWA on the East Coast broke off and went hardcore, bringing on ECW and a whole other group of crazies.  I still miss that gang.  Nowadays I'm still watching, mostly AEW and TNA.  My main man is Jon Moxley, the guy can be bleeding like a stuck pig and just keeps coming on.

I used to watch wrestling back in the day. Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks, Kendo Nagasaki, Kid Dynamite, Catweazle, Pat Roach, Fit Finley, Mark "Rollerballl" Rocco, Iron Fist Clive Myers and a ton more. :drink:

Same here.  Detroit was an "NWA territory", held matches at the old Olympia Stadium before moving to "beautiful air conditioned Cobo Arena" downtown.  Stars like Dick the Bruiser, Killer Kowalski, Wild Bull Curry and son Fred, Bobo Brazil, and the top dog, The Sheik. Wrestlemania 3 was at the Pontiac Silverdome in March of '73, with main event of Hulk Hogan defeating Andre The Giant to retain his WWF Heavyweight title, and Ricky Steamboat defeating Randy "Macho Man" Savage to take the WWF Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship.  Prior to this match the storyline was developed regarding George "The Animal" Steele having a crush on Miss Elizabeth. The show set an alleged indoor attendance record of 93,173.

  5. A couple of bummers:

A 7 year old girl is killed when a 5-6 foot deep sand hole she and an 8 year old boy were digging on a beach in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea collapses, burying them both.  Unknown how long both were buried.

On a more personal note, a four tooth bridge in my lower jaw came loose to the point that I can remove it.  I can fix it temporarily, but a long delayed course of dental care is in the offing.  We know how that might go-

Adrian Belew would be worth seeing.

I am hoping to get some tickets to Peter Frampton, he's doing a short tour of small venues.  Will be here in April.

It appears they will be playing most, if not all, of "Remain In Light".  Wouldn't mind hearing a little Crim either.

Such a huge snow! We got about 23 inches where I lived.  There were record low readings on the weather service barometer, too, I think. Trying to find some photos, but having problems with Imgur today. The temperatures were cold that winter, too, the snow stuck around forever in Pennsylvania!  I remember walking to a neighbors house and felt like a rat in a maze.  The sidewalks were shoveled but other than that, the snow was about waist high.

Karen's parents were originally from Copper Country in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.  They'd see that and say, "Aw, that's a light dusting, get your ass to school!" The area was surrounded by Lake Superior on 3 sides.  The middle of a giant snow engine.

  8. The Florida Bushman page on FB.  This guy wears a costume of a big green bush and sits in a big square planter he places on the the sidewalk with his camera man downrange.  As people pass by he stands up, sometimes making a verbal comment.  Most people are so shocked they shout out, and the women scream.  When they realize they've been had, most of them laugh, a few of them curse, and a couple folks will throw down.  A few times some of the females that get surprised comment, "I think I peed my pants!". Most of the time he works Clearwater Beach, but he's also done Miami Beach and other areas.  I told him to come visit the Broadwalk on Hollywood Beach and scare up some business. The guy is a riot!
