It seems like for as long as I've been really a fan of Rush (around age 14 with Grace Under Pressure release), with each new release I hear some speculation or rumor that it is to be their last. It is funny that even back then, when Power Windows came out, they had been around what seemed like a very long time and had enough albums for people to speculate that they would be hanging it up soon. And there will always be some track on the album that might, if you are looking for it, seem like some kind of swan song moment. So, yes, one day the speculation will be right. Even a broken watch is right twice a day. I just think it is funny how long I've been hearing it.

I hear you. I certainly judged for myself, but I admit I was slowed down a little on the purchase. I think it also may have been because we've already had Caravan and B2BU for so long and they didn't light my world ablaze. Actually, my opinion of them has totally changed when fit in the context of the album.

Well, I'll be the first in line if they ever decide to remix Vapor Trails!

I shouldn't have read the early reviews for this album. Even as a longtime Rush fan, I'm no longer running out to buy an album the moment it is released. But I did catch some bad reviews where they said the mix was awful, or the songs didn't have any hooks to them or anything memorable (and listening to 30 seconds of the songs on Amazon actually reinforced that view .. which is what I wonder what some of the negative reviews were based on). Now that I've had the album for a couple weeks, I'll say for myself, the best one they've released in many years! I shouldn't pay that much attention to reviews.
