  1. You may not be aware of this, but this thread asked for opinions...presumably all opinions are welcome, yes? The truth of the matter is it could be considered "selfish" to want them to keep touring. A case could be made both ways given their age and the wear and tear on them as human beings. I would love to see them again but not at the expense of hurting them or worse.... Agreed. One of the common straw men that is trotted out to be used against people like you and I goes something like, "you old fans can't accept that Rush aren't young men anymore -- you want them to be able to perform like they did when they were in their prime, well too bad, they're not", but I don't think that is our position. Our position is, "on the contrary, we do accept that they're not young men any more, that's why we think it's time for them to hang it up". I'm in the camp that thinks Rush should continue performing and I agree with Narp and JARG. There's nothing wrong with their argument. Logically sound. You may not be aware of this, but this thread asked for opinions...presumably all opinions are welcome, yes? Duh, and my opinion is that they are selfish. At this point I really hope you're just trying to troll us :sigh: No dear, I don't troll. :sigh:

  4. For everybody that complains and says Rush shouldn't perform live, stop being so selfish. If you don't like it then don't go. My husband was lucky enough to start seeing the band in the 70's but me, not so much. I didn't see them until 2012 and that was partly my fault because my husband had been trying to get me into them since 2009. But a lot of us younger people are just now getting around to seeing and enjoying them, so if you don't like them, stay home. Meanwhile I'll be using up my vacation days to see as many shows as possible.
  5. Oh your poor skinny bitches, cry me a river, wahhh wahhhh. ;)
  6. This thread.. :rfl: Zumbi dear, you're just going to have to accept that everybody here is a huge smartass. Anyway, I know one of the sets, Chromey, was purchased by a fan and I believe he takes it to events and lets fans take their picture and kind of "play" it for a few seconds, Rush also has a huge storage facility somewhere in Toronto and I think a lot of their old instruments are kept there.
  7. Don't let the door hit your ass.
  8. I could sit at a baseball game all day and eat peanuts and play catch with anybody!
  9. I had a dream I was at a game where the Reds were playing the Cubs and I saw Geddy and we started playing catch with each other during the 7th inning stretch. Go figure lol.
  10. Yes. I think there are more of our kind out there too. We should make a coming out thread for no underwear How do you keep your junk from bouncing and swinging around when you walk? Got a sea shanty: :musicnote: Do your balls hang low Can you swing 'em too and fro? Can you tie 'em in a knot Can you tie 'em in a bow? If you get a funny feeling When they're hanging from the ceiling You'll never be a sailor if your balls hang low :musicnote: :P Hahaha! I can still hear in my head a sanitised version of that song my brother used to sing when we were kids: Do your ears hang low? Do they wobble to and fro? Can you tie them in a knot? Can you tie them in a bow? Can you throw them over your shoulder like a continental soldier? Do your ears hang low? You have to wonder what drugs people are taking when they write these songs.
  11. Dude calm down and go look at something "adult".
  12. this made me laugh so much I thought I was gonna flood the bed! Why doesn't a mod get rid of this one, eh? It's way more revealing and disgusting to boot. Double standard. Why is it disgusting? Do overweight people offend you? Not if they keep their clothes on and behave normally. I don't want to see some skinny guy doing that either. But if topless or even bathing suit attired women can't be shown for some prudish reason, why is that allowed? Well, context. I don't think that anybody is getting a hard-on or a lady-boner looking at this, it's humorous and for laughs. Overweight people do not need to "keep their clothes on and behave normally." Wow. Do you have an issue with chubby girls in two piece swimsuits as well? Depends on the level of chubbiness. Since it seems we can't post bikini clad women, it would be difficult to show examples but I certainly don't mind a woman that is considered full figured. But a woman that size of that guy^^^^^^, shouldn't be wearing a bikini any more than he should be wearing a speedo. Be careful, you are on the verge of fat-shaming here. It doesn't matter if the target is male or female, if the video is done seriously or as a joke. It all comes down to if you are at all embarrassing or disgracing a person based on the size of their body then it is fat-shaming. So what if a person is fat? No one says you have to like it. If you don't find this guy attractive because he's too heavy for you then fine. But once you start making fun of him for his weight then that is wrong. You have no right to tell someone what they can and cannot wear based on their size. If you want to make fun of someone go over to the thread about the mankinis. Those guys brought it upon themselves. Fat - shaming? More PC BS! For example, I am lean/skinny. Have been all my life. I have had people kid/joke with me about it. Is there such a thing as Skinny - shaming? That's not PC BS, when you tell somebody they shouldn't wear or do something because of their size, that is fat shaming. There is skinny shaming as well, yes and I think it can be just as hurtful. But we have to admit overweight people take the brunt of it from society. Fat shamingA term made by obese people to avoid the responsibility to actually take proper care of their body and instead victimize themself by pretending they're discriminated like an ethnic group. When confronted with someone like that they will ignore all the facts about obesity being unhealthy and pretend it's some sort of evil socially constructed conspiracy by teh patriarchy Peter: "You've started gaining weight at a worrying level, maybe we could exercise together and take up a sport since you're always at home" Bianca: "omg stop disciminating me you're just fat shaming, all my fat is genetics and exercising is just a social construct made by our sexist society, i'm not being brainwashed into ur shauvinistic world" *Bianca then proceeds to eat burgers and refuses to better herself* I am going to assume that this definition in the Urban Dictionary is not what we are talking about here..... No, it's the opposite. Say for example you're working out on a treadmill at the gym, doing the best you can and a super buff guy gets on next to you with his equally buff friend and says something like, "I like to workout next to the fat people, it keeps me more motivated." Would another "human being" actually say something like that?... http://www.yelp.com/...psyjszcf7d3Yr7A I've seen pictures of you. You are not fat. Nice job of missing the point! LMAO
  13. If you don't wear underpants, how do you protect your clothes from your ass? By wiping properly. But if he sweats alot the underpants might soak up most of it ;) I'm still puzzled as to why God put sweat glands there. For lube.

Come on, Really? Is that from a Seinfeld episode? Nope, the jackass thought because I had my headphones in that I couldn't hear him.

  18. I wondered what you meant there, too. I agree that Geddy is struggling a bit. I would actually rather he change the parts a bit rather than push so hard. Sometimes his voice cracks a bit at the start of a line, and I think if he'd just pull back a bit it might sound better. But I'm no expert (and have a terrible singing voice myself!). I love it when Geddy sings but I do have to admit I've always wondered why he doesn't tone it down a notch. I don't think he can sing any lower than he is already. As it is, he had already toned it down more than a few notches. No when he's live he does push really hard and try to hit those notes when you can tell he'd be able to go lower.

  21. Yeah me too. As much as I complain about Geddy's voice (and that's only because it upsets me) I'll still go as long as they tour. It upsets you?
