  1. Am I the only one that checks his Ticketmaster app every night right before bed and it's the first thing he does when he wakes up? Just wondering.
  2. So basically we might start seeing speculation says the Man who then speculates? Lol. It is starting to sound like it's almost time.....
  3. Ed at rushisaband has listed RUMORED and SPECULATIVE dates: Columbus, OH (6/8) Buffalo, NY (6/10) Chicago, IL (6/12) Detroit, MI (6/14) Boston, MA - TD Garden (6/23) - briefly listed at TM/LN New York, NY - Madison Square Garden (6/29) - briefly listed at TM/LN St. Louis, MO (6/??) Tulsa, OK - BOK Center (7/19) - allegedly briefly listed at BOK Center website Las Vegas, NV (8/1) Hartford/New Haven, CT (??) - toward end of summer according to promoter Jim Koplik
  4. Rushisaband is offering some little tidbits as well
  5. Snaked - your commentary is tantalizingly irritating. <mad face> :)
  6. Just having some fun. I trust Snaked's word. I was bored. Lol. DaVinci Code was awesome though

  8. Let's analysis this statement. First, "worry" is spelled "werry". Now werry is defined as an adverb meaning very. So, translation is "don't y'all very". I'll think about that one. Now, he also uses two contractions in the first statement. Contractions are used to shorten and join two words. So obviously, the time of the announcement is short, or near, or close. "Dates are coming "Soon"tm". Why the capitalization of "Soon" if not to emphasis a brief frame of time? Now there's the quotes around the word "soon". This could mean a sarcastic reference or loose definition of the word chosen. So "Soon" could mean a long time but it could also mean that the time is near or far. Then there's point of trademarking the word "Soon". Trademarking places a degree of ownership. Clearly the tour or perhaps if there is new material will have something directly or indirectly with the word "Soon". Song title? your title? Time will tell perhaps. "That's all I can today". Obviously, this indicates that he will have more to say tomorrow. "Sowwy". It's a cute way of saying sorry. A goggle search also brings up a lot of images of fuzzy kittens. So perhaps the theme of tour will revolve around cats or kittens. Perhaps the author finds it's cute that he knows something we don't. Hmm. Nah. I'm sticking with the cat them. Based upon the above analogy, I am breaking my own rules (since I can be ause I wrote them) and say the announcement will be within the week.
  9. P/G was my first concert and the start of this "relationship". I remember, even if it was a naive, teenage memory, that Kid Gloves was one of the first to have Geddy dub a harmony along with the melody "Tough to be so cool". I would love to hear it live. If they can pull The Body Electric out of the vault for CA, they can pull Kid Gloves out this time around. I think it would be this tour's Analog Kid.
  10. Why not recreate a condensed version of the CA recipe? Tour (shorter version than CA with 2 new songs) Record a new album in LA Tour (shorter than CA and hitting areas not touched by the pre-tour while skirting areas played during the pre-tour) If CA is making pancakes from scratch, 2015/2016 could be making pancakes with Bisquick....
  11. LMAO! I'd rather stand in front of a mirror and watch my eyes bleed - which happens with threads like that.....
  12. Bored. Anxious. Tired of reading some crazy topics. Thought I'd start my own. I'm predicting January 29. Pick a date. Just one date. No range or multiple dates. Winner gets - nothing
  13. Dumb discussion on what drummer is better. It's an individual opinion. End of discussion. Move along.
  14. I just thought that it would be more natural and healthier for his voice to sing them at his current range rather than reaching. I guess the question is, is it better to tune it down a few keys or drop a full octave?
  15. This thought came to me the other day. Please bear with me while I give you some background. Like Ged, I was blessed/cursed with a more than usually high pitch ("thank you, ma'am, and who am I speaking to today?" "Yea - my name is <insert male name>"). Also, my tune carrying ability is above average and at one point could hit all the Rush 70's notes. At one point.... Now I am in the latter half of my forties and those high - high notes are elusive. Ok. They vanished sometime in my thirties. So the other day, I was in my car thinking of the upcoming tour and Ged's voice and his age and what 70's songs he might be able to sing to include in my fantasy set lists. While playing around with different songs, it hit me - instead of tuning down songs, why couldn't he sing some of them in their original key BUT an octave lower? I think it is doable. I played around with say a song like Cinderella Man and I think it would sound just as strong and pleasant. I'm curious to hear your opinions especially those who have musical experience. Thanks.
  16. Here's a suggestion if age is a factor for Geddy: Have an A set that is a little heavier on the bass side and then a B set that is more keyboard/synths. With the days off between shows he is looking at 3-4 days between A sets. Just an idea....
  17. If that's the case, why bother? I don't know about anyone else here, but who wants to watch a band perform that isn't enthusiastic about doing it and is only doing it reluctantly? Neil hasn't enjoyed touring since the early 80's but he understands that that is what you do when you're in a working band.. you play live. No, he isn't excited about leaving his family and his little girl for long periods of time but it's his job and he is able to schedule things so that the time away is as brief as possible. When Neil is on the road with RUSH he gives every show 100%. He doesn't slack off just because he'd rather be anywhere but here... it's just a fact of life he'd rather be home. Agree with that 100%. We all hate certain aspects of our jobs especially when it involves being away from our families. Doesn't mean we don't go to work and do our best. I think we are reading a little too much into his statements.

  21. All because some want to hear some of the older songs? Really? Let me ask you this - are those old classics really "Rush" with someone else singing them and not Geddy? IMO - not even close even if the three are playing the music. All or nothing. As for the all instrumental idea - ridiculous. The lyrics, the melody, the voice are one of the attractions for me. I probably wouldn't buy an all instrumental CD. Boring.
  22. Jacob's Ladder was last played live over 34 years ago. Of those songs that have never been played or have been rarely played live, Jacob's Ladder is one of the most desired songs by the fans. The following are the listed reasons why Jacob's ladder must be a partof the 2015 tour setlist. (1) IT IS A CLASSIC Every tour, JL is among those songs that fns most anticipate seeing. Arenas around the country will explode upon the first few notes. For the diehard pre-Signals crowd, this epic will bring euphoria like no other. Without doubt, JL will be one of the most memorable moments from the show. (2) EASY ON GEDDY'S VOCALS Facts can not deny that our "heroes" are now in their sixties. While their physical skills are still way beyond those of their contemporaries, the grind of a tour wears quicker on the body than in the past. Jacob's Ladder is over seven minutes long, yet it is mostly instrumental. This will allow Geddy's vocals to rest a bit. In addition, the vocals are sung in a lower key than most the songs from that era. With the limited vocals contained within the song and since it is sung in a lower register, one can argue that Jacob's Ladder is the best candidate to be performed from the pre-Signals era. (3) BREAKS WITHIN THE INSTRUMENTAL FOR NEIL AND ALEX Along same lines as (2) above, there is a section of the song of a little over a minute (3:49 - 4:54 on the recorded version) where it is mainly Geddy playing keyboards and singing ("All at once the clouds are parted. Light streams down in bright, unbroken beams"). While Alex and Neil still may have parts within that section, it is minimal as far as pounding drums or playing notes on the guitar. This offers both of them an opportunity of a break within the song. These breaks within songs are extremely rare for any other Rush song especially the length such a break would involve. (4) SOME EASIER BASS SECTIONS FOR GEDDY While the bass does have it moments during Jacon's Ladder, there are at least a couple of sections when the bass is carrying the rhythm only. With the addition of keyboard only sections, this gives Geddy a bit of break. (5) OPPORTUNITY FOR NEW AND CREATIVE LIGHT.VIDEO SHOW Setlists from tour to tour contain many of the same songs. That is all well and good as some are classics, but usually the same video/light show goes along with those songs. Jacon's Ladder offers the part of teh team and chance to create something spectacular and memorable. For example, there can be lighting to resemble to thunder at the beginning sections. There can be bright beams oflight to resemble sunlight in the middle section. There can be maybe video to show "man" reflecting upon the "heavens". IDK. I'm just offering up something new and different. Use your own imagination. Maybe the during the "bright, unbroken beams", the audience can cast smartphone flashlight beams in sync from upward descending down toward the stage. These are just some the reasons I can come up with as to why Jacon's Ladder must be in the setlist. Perhaps you can think of more.
  23. I'm thinking Counterparts. I like that mix. To me, Presto was lacking something - maybe it was to clean?
