permanent waves, vapor trails, mov... nah cant do it, rather have none, would have to be at least 6

Remastered Ceiling unlimited is a disaster, some awful static in background at various points i nearly asked for my money back

Each time we bathe our reactions

In artificial light

Each time we alter the focus

To make the wrong moves seem right

Brilliant track, rush about sex

Armor & Sword sounds like it was mastered at the wrong speed, like a half step too slow or more

Yeah nice one, i found 1.25x better but 1.5x defo had an interesting dog years feel to it

Great albums with Rupert at production helm of course but one of best things to come outa them was an eventual realisation that the juice needed pumping up a bit - giving us Counterparts

Life was different knowing new Rush material always in pipeline

Technically no better album, note perfect beautifully written the essence of what this band was, but dated. The best rush albums for me sound as if they could've been laid down today or tomorrow - permanent waves being a prime example

 

That said, la villa is the band at their very best indeed of course

Halo Effect X3

didnt care for the track for years but love now in spite of the 'doggie heaven'

Digital Man, but there's a couple on Counterparts that get close

It's gonna take thousand years of mankind evolution to top La Villa Strangiato

 

And even then it wont manage it

In a few months time dont be surprised to hear mention of a 'Rush with guest percussionists' tour. VOTE!

For pity's sake the solo in Tom Sawyer is a killer

So important for future generations, shows band in full recording flow, for me personally awesome to see both Al Ged and Neil doing exactly what they did recording album, is all there a privilege to watch

Great stuff, wouldn't have minded some visuals though

Too many great ones to choose from he the master of the genre but just given Turn The Page a blast and the solo in that one is the kind of abstract thing i like from Al

2112 Overture/Temples of Syrinx..

 

Followed by Spirit of Radio and the rest of Waves

Just to say, A Trick Of The Tail is the first post-Gabriel Genesis studio album, damn good one too

 

With or without Peter Gabriel, all Genesis albums superlative

I'd say his tones on Counterparts are pretty incredible - lots of different guitars on that one I believe. Played through a Peavey 5150.

 

I'm thinking of Double Agent at the moment. Sounds like a Telecaster to me...just rich and pure sounding.
