  1. What's your take? Just heard 3x and has some great elements. Will you see them live on the next tour? I doubt they will ever make it down here. I can't believe they're not much bigger. I think I prefer Celestial Effigy a bit more but this is pretty good. It's more of a grower for me. I'll try to catch them when they come by my area (L.A.) again. Yeah, it's a shame they don't have more mainstream recognition but they're still pretty well known within the "underground" scene. Just 11 days until the new album comes out!
  2. Just gave this a listen. Awesome stuff! Shame they already broke up.
  3. You can hear "Dark Matter Gods" here: http://www.invisibleoranges.com/2014/04/io-on-evr-playlist-and-archived-stream-from-4292014/
  4. ^Yeah, I didn't really care for The Hunter's cover, but this one is just incredible. Even if the album sucks, which I'm sure it won't, I'd buy it anyways just for the cover. Edit: Forgot to post this.
  5. Out June 24th. http://www.theprp.com/wp-content/uploads/mastodononcemoreroundthesun.jpg 1. Tread Lightly 2. The Motherload 3. High Road 4. Once More 'Round the Sun 5. Chimes at Midnight 6. Asleep in the Deep 7. Feast Your Eyes 8. Aunt Lisa 9. Ember City 10. Halloween 11. Diamond in the Witch House
  6. Agreed. Sounds like it could have been on Painkiller or British Steel. Halford's voice is still in great shape. The last two albums really didn't impress me but it seems like they're getting back on track with this one. Can't wait!
  7. "The wait is almost over! Only a few more hours until we reveal a track from our new album!" Bring it on! :haz:
  8. Update (boiled down my list + added a few new ones): 1. Alcest - Shelter: Shoegaze. Completely different style for them but no less beautiful. Probably my album of the year so far. 2. Animals as Leaders - The Joy of Motion: Instrumental prog metal. Not as good as their debut but still fantastic. Tosin Abasi is hands down one of the greatest guitarists. 3. Woods of Desolation - As the Stars: Black metal and shoegaze. A really emotional, uplifting album that's heavy at the same time. 4. Hail Spirit Noir - Oi Magoi: Black metal meets King Crimson-style prog rock. Highly unique to say the least. 5. Iced Earth - Plagues of Babylon: Power/heavy metal with a touch of thrash. A bit stripped down from their previous one but it's all the more fun and exciting. Stu Block's vocals really shine here. 6. Crosses - Crosses: Chino Moreno of Deftones' electronic/rock side project. Beautiful, catchy songs with an experimental edge. 7. Gamma Ray - Empire of the Undead: Power/heavy metal. Much better than their previous album. Every song is memorable and fun. Influences from classic bands such as Priest, Maiden, and Metallica. 8. Triptykon - Melana Chasmata: Death/doom/thrash. Featuring Tom G. Warrior of Celtic Frost fame, this is an abysmally dark adventure through the netherworld. His vocals are something to be marveled at. 9. Insomnium - Shadows of the Dying Sun: Melancholic melodic death metal (recommended for Opeth fans). Not too different from their previous material but definitely their best since Above the Weeping World. 10. Lantlos - Melting Sun: Post-metal/post-rock. Former black metal band makes a gorgeous, uplifting post-metal record. The metal brother of the new Alcest album.
  9. Performed live at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards Show: It's a good one :haz: I honestly like it more than anything off the last album so I'm pretty pumped about the new one!
  10. The singles from the album are great. The rest of the album kinda bored me to be honest.
  11. Yet another new track: http://antemasque.bandcamp.com/track/people-forget

  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cCFuFpJ5Mc Pretty different from TMV but I like it. It has a cool garage rock feel to it.
  15. Really excited to hear how this turns out!
  16. Steven Wilson was involved in making the new album:
  17. So the artist who's doing the cover for the new album is pretty amazing: https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&site=imghp&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1920&bih=899&q=skinner+art&oq=skinner+art&gs_l=img.3..0l5j0i5l5.411.2290.0.3506.11.11.0.0.0.0.184.1152.5j6.11.0....0...1ac.1.39.img..1.10.955.wZih-0oUhmA I was pretty disappointed with The Hunter's artwork but I have high hopes for this one!
